Any info on this house?

while cruising in our boat we saw this huge yacht. We went to investigate and saw it was named "Sunday Money" and had the Dale Earnhardt Inc logo on the radar cover. We thought it was the richest nascar fan until we saw a 48ft Haateras named "The Intimidator" right behind it. Here is a google image of the house. The big one is sunday money and the medium one is the intimidator.

Anyone know if it is really one of their houses?
If we go by there again I WILL take pictures.

Edit, Found this which shows it is indeed Dale Earnhardts boat

Keep in mind that just because a boat is docked out back, it doesn't mean it belongs to the homeowner. My dad rents his space to a yacht.

Sabates did share a few stories with me, including one about the late great #3, "The Intimidator," Dale Earnhardt Sr., and suggested, "Why don't you call your old boss and get his side of it?" By "old boss," he meant Alton Herndon, former president of Hatteras Yachts, who quickly responded to my questions with a query of his own: "Who've you been talking to? Felix?"

I believe "Sunday Money" belongs to Dale Earnhardt Jr. But the house belongs to Sr.
The "Intimidator" Aparrently belongs to Earnhardt Sr.

Seems it would be odd for Dale Jr. to have the DEI logo on his boat. It could just be that he hasn't had time to change it out though.

It could be a DEI owned boat.

He could just keep it there as a tribute to his dad.

I would have thought that that was a pretty pokey property for a man of his means.
Dale Jr. has more money than God, and can live wherever he wants. I think you're right, though...he needs to get rid of that puny, useless house and property, and give them to me :sly:.

The House is probably just a summer holiday home or something to that extent. Dale Sr. is perhaps renting the house to someone and Dale Jr. could be using it as mooring space for his yacht. As for the DEI emblem, perhaps its some advertising for daddy.

I find it difficult to believe that a man dead for 8 years can own things and rent them out to people.

Bingo. I'd be surprised if it wasn't.

I have noticed that a few comments seem to lack the knowledge that Dale Sr. is dead and that Dale Jr. is no longer a part of the Dale Earnhardt Inc. team.

And if it is a DEI boat, then that means that it was owned almost exclusively by Dale Sr., but is now DEI property, which Dale Jr. sold out of to go to Hendrick.

Anyone wishing to find out the family drama that led to that can look it up themselves. There was too much he said/she said to know the full details.

He didn't sell anything because he didn't have any share. That is one of the reasons he left.

Ah, I see, I'm not entirely familiar with NASCAR :embarrassed:
I was meerly looking things up from the internet.

I believe you can still own things when you die if you are rich enough. Money went mad if you ask me.

No, it automatically passes to your beneficiaries (assuming that they meet the stipulated conditions to do so). In this case they passed to Dale Earnhardt Inc. (DEI) rather than Dale Earnhardt Jr who has nothing to do with DEI...

I thought he had partial ownership, but not controlling interest and didn't like the direction they were headed.

I could be mistaken, and likely am as I only give NASCAR passing attention.

Actually Dale Jr. had everything to do with DEI, he owned a 50% stake in DEI ownership with Dale Sr.

When Dale passed his ownership stake went to his wife Teresa. One of the major things that lead to the Jr. DEI split was Teresa not letting Dale have a majority stake in DEI (51%^). I have no idea if he sold all of his rights to DEI before leaving for HMS, I'd imagine so, now with DEI being partnered with Chip Ganassi as well as RCR for their engines.

Also since Dale Earnhardt Sr. owned DEI, when he died, nothing of his went to DEI, which is a company. Whatever he had went to Teresa his wife, DEI ownership included, the company would not get any personal property. I'm sure Jr. retained whatever he owned in the company previously up until the JR/DEI split.

Right, which is everything that is not a personal item. Race cars, trophy's, company cars and whatever else more than likely company.

Though it's not like it mattered, his wife got the company and his belongings, so company asset or not, it became a Dale Jr/Teresa asset, aside from whatever Dale Jr would have kept for himself.

Edit:
I'm just saying I doubt things like houses were company assets, unless it was saving money on some kind of taxes or whatever else.

And the booms before and after it.

And boats? :D

Yeah, also explains the times of economic growth.

Edit:
Maybe the boats too, heck I don't know maybe they had some spare change floating around with all the merchandise and commercial deals Jr had. The boats could have been gifts to DEI for all I know. The boat company one of my family members worked for always got tower suite tickets for the races in Daytona from the Roush team. They gave the company a good amount of tickets, I doubt they didn't give the Roush team anything (Like a heck of a deal on a half million dollar yacht ;D) These company's scratch each others backs all the time, or at least they did. I'll say air conditioning with free beers watching a race for free beats paying face value, I'm sure riding offshore drinking champagne in a severely discounted boat is better than MSRP as well.

I am more than happy to have a discussion regarding capitalism vs. whatever you think can do a better job, but this is not the thread for it.

If you feel like starting one up, or perhaps an old one exists that you can start back up, in the Opinions forum then I am sure plenty of us will be happy to join you.

Otherwise, I am not quite sure why this is getting started up in this thread.

EDIT: This goes for you too, LSX.

Off-topic.

Sorry, that's bait I have a hard time not jumping on. I was just in the opinion section as well so maybe I had forgotten where I was.

I'll cut that out then.
