Any thing less then cockpit cheating?

Cockpit view is the most realistic and therefore, in my opinion, the best. However, I wouldn't call the other views "cheating" because well, there are no rules that say you have to use any particular view. Also, cockpit view has the least (lowest) field of view. And actually, you could say, it has an unrealistically small field of view. You are basically driving with blinders on. In real life, you could turn you head to one side or another to make up for this, but not in GT... (I know, I know, you can press the look left/right buttons. but it's insane, I crash 100% of the time when I do this).

Agreed! I want hood view! Since I have a wheel and built my own cockpit, the perspective is off on the cockpit view. (i hope i didn't just contradict my last post)

There is no "cheating" view if it is a game option. Play the game with any view that you want.

I use cockpit view for 80%. I do wish they had a "dashboard" view with reduced field of view and TIR5 support.

Interesting point. Actually, I'd say you RL is cheating, too. If you compare sports (baseball, basketball, etc), all of autoracing is "cheating". THere is no fair fight. Nobody has the same car, crew, equipment, track time, etc. Who was it that said, "if you aren't cheating, you aren't trying hard enough"?

cockpit view is like driving from the backseat in real life, the closest to reality is a hood view wich the game lacks with it's ridiculous rally-inspired roof camera.

Exactly! I've said this to people all along. How can having a picture of your steering wheel and hands 3 feet in front of your real steering wheel and hands be the most realistic view?

Not cheating,only easier.Just like padles and ABS 1.Like so many in here.

Just because you think it is easyer does not mean everyone feel the same. I know plenty of people who are faster with cockpit view. Its the same physics engine, just depends on what you are used to.

Its not cheating, it just depend on how you feel most comfortable with. I feel most comfortable using a cockpit/1st person view because it feels more realistic. Sometimes I use roof cam.
