Any Xfinity/Comcast users???

Ok, Im currently with Dishnetwork and looking for a change. I dont have a land line for the house and my ISP is Centrylink which I pay for 10megs and realy get about 6-7.
Questions===
1. What are the benifits of using my Xbox for the ESPN apps??..I am NOT interested in any PPV movies that is offered..I have more ways than I need to watch a movie..Im interested in the sports/local channeling thru the Xbox.
2. Like I said Im using a DSL for my internet needs...Are the speeds that much better with a Cable internet??..I have googled that question and you will be suprised of the answers you get..But I wanted to ask some gaming geeks.....

I also have Dish Network for TV viewing and I absolutely love it. Best deal out there imo and I have had Directv and Comcast also.

I still have Comcast for my internet needs but not very happy with them since they keep screwing with my speed.

As for the ESPN app for Xbox, sorry but I can't help you there. I only use my Xbox for Forza.

What are they doing to your speeds?....This is the main reason I want Xfinity is to get faster internets

I signed up for their 15mbps plan and it lasted 1 day and they knocked me back down to 8. I called them. She said she wasn't sure why my plan got changed so she bumped me back up. That last a week or 2 then right back down again. The customer service is also horrible. If there is a problem with your bill it takes a drill and someones skull to finally fix it.

Well along with the new year I now have a new internet provider. Yesterday Comcast/Xfinity guy came by the house and hooked me up with there 30mbps plan. The bill should be the same as what I was paying for with Centrylink. And I have to say is WOW.........Before when I tried to find a public race in FM4 it would sit and look but NEVER get into a race..It would kick me back into a lobby with no one it..now matter what Class I looked for. Last night when I got in from work I quickly tried to get into a race. And BAM.....I found numerous races. I havent found any of my racing friends online to try to join their game. But before I never could join. Hopefully this will open my FM4 gaming experience up and actualy race against human beings rather than AI that brake check in the corners...Just thought I would share in case anyone is out there thinking of changing......Right now the price is exactly the same what I was paying for and its 4x as fast.......Just thought I would share...Happy New Year everyone....I feel blessed

Comcast customer service can be TERRIBLE at times but if its speed you are after, its the way to go especially for online gaming. I currently have their fastest plan which gets me about 25 megs download and around 3 megs upload. Its VERY fast and its rare I ever have any problems. Even running 4-6 online devices at the same time. PS3,(2) 360s, PC, Iphone, and Ipad all at the same time no issues. Almost never see lag in any game. Very very rare.

Make sure you always check your internet connection with http://www.speedtest.net/ You should ALWAYS be getting the download and upload speed they advertise. If not, make sure you call right away to get the problem resolved for free.

^^^Since Monday I have checked my speeds thru speedtest.net and Im getting faster speeds than what Im paying for...I did however have to call them about the TV side of things and your right..it was like a monkey ****kin a football to get to the right person.

I think Im going to have to do something with my wireless router to boost my wi-fi speeds up though...(not for my gaming but for my wireless devices)

Most of our gaming devices are hard wired to prevent any wireless connection issues. The ipad and iphone are wireless. Everything is within about 6 feet of our router or less.

My comment was in relation to COD, the higher speed users are 'punished' by having our connection toned down to compensate the slower speed users to create a fair playing field....to which I say Blahhhhhhhh!

On the other hand, I am usually host so in a way I control whether or not the game finishes, LOL.

^^...I got ya.....Didnt realy know that....I will see how that plays out in the games to come...BUT I can tell after a few games that I seem to move alot faster over the maps...It could just be in my head
