Been on gt5 for 10 months now and i've yet to meet anybody who uses cockpit view. They've recently updated and sorted the shake issue which at times (Z01 Rm/ Indy) was to much.
Come on guys this is the was to play the game!! People say you can't be accurate?? Thats Bull! Its all about knowing your lines and positioning. You don't very often sit in the middle of the car so you have to learn the difference in perception of left and right-hand drive cars.
When i started back on need for speed shift (xbox360) i used the racing/best line and made sure the line was flowing to the middle of the car. So if i was left -hand drive the line would be to the right of the steering wheel and vise-versa.If you can drive a real car, reverse park etc you should be able, with a bit of practice to do it. I was the only one on that game playing online using cockpit view (used a controller though) and its looking the same story on gt5:grumpy:
Thats why i've joined gtplanet in the hope i'm not on my own on this issue.

Logitech G27 no skid rec/asm/ast

Thanks Teth

I know of plenty of people on here who use the cockpit view and swear by it, both for realism and accuracy. Personally I don't get on with it and find I'm much more comfortable with the bumper cam. I just don't get how it can be perceived as a realistic view when you can see someone else's hands on the wheel and you don't have any peripheral vision. Perhaps I just have my seat too low or something.

Just a thought, but shouldn't this be in the GT5 section?

I find it plain stupid to use cockpit view on the premiums when 800 of the other cars don't have a legitimate cockpit to use (meaning I don't use cockpit mode on standards, because it just looks horrible). I'm not complaining about the quality of the standards, I'm just trying to say that its not easy to switch cams back and forth whenever you switch from a standard to premium, which is why I use bumper cam. Its the same for everything.

Was this really necessary?

Pre 2.02 update I used nothing but the chase cam' view but now it gives me motion sickness. I've started using the interior view and i'm getting very similar times now to how I used to be :)

I think the cockpit view is the only way to race if not I will not call it a simulator, but I think it's crazy unfear when it's raining. When you stick your head out from the radiator people see great but we that race the real way (if you ask me) have problem like hell with our view. People talk about cheating with diffrent abs and stuff but I not se anything yet about the view.(I'm pretty new here on GTP) :) Personaly I use cockpit view and some times abs on 1, but happy to go without.

Considering this thread is in the Rumble Strip where most conversation is more in reality, I don't think people have any choice on which view they drive their car from, unless they do this.

And I use cockpit view offline. I am slightly faster with the roof cam though.

:D I always wondered who ran the 'netz. That guy's clearly a cockpit view 'fan'. :dopey:

He is certainly one cool guy who appears very bright!.

Hence why I believed he be the man for the job!

btw I use roof cam

I use it all the time for drifting and cars til 600pp. Over 600 its hard because your going so fast that I don't have time to look at my left or right
