While I was racin' and trying to achieve S license on one of the tracks, the 3rd race of A right after I press the green button to start the race, the PSP goes black. Nothing moves. Press the home button and you can see how much battery left....3/4 full. But there is nothing until you reboot your PSP :(

This happen to anyone?

Got it yesterday when i pressed the green button too 👎

My PSP3004 with FW 6.1 from the GT bundle was plugged into the wall.

you know twin, that could be the problem right there. you went from CFW to official FW.

Well that depends if Fruitcake used to run CFW does it not? So, did you change from CFW to OFW Fruitcake?

I've experienced the screen of death aswell. It's happened twice now, both times after long sessions of achieveing golds and silvers. So annoying grrrrr!

Out of those that had the Black screen of death (BSOD...?), was it the UMD or the download.
I'm jsut trying to see a pattern of some sort. :)

I have a PSP 1002, that has been between OFW and CFW so many time, it is now on OFW 6.10. I am using an aussie/euro UMD with it installed to the MS and not, and I am yet to get the black screen of death.

For people that it is crashing for, what PSP version and FW are you running. From what I can see so far above, it could be a 300x problem.

Good theroy there but I highly doubt it myself. CFW and official firmware don't change hardware configs. It's purely a software "hack"....kinda like jailbreaking iPhones/iPods. So now that I'm on 6.1 official, the system acts no different than a PSP Go on 6.1

I wasn't plugged into the wall. and FYI, I use a PSP 1000.

What REALLY chapped me up: grinding 4M on the oval and hitting the Home buttom accidentily loosing all the credits....and then making another 4M after that reboot and then loosing it to the black screen-o-death. D'Oh!

Region 1 UMD
Game installed to a 2GB Sandisc stick
PSP 1000
running OFW 6.1

It's always seemed easier to me to do an open track drift at Chamonix. I average about 22,000 - 30,000 points per lap, so 44k to 60k credits per lap. 5 laps of drifting = at least 250,000 credits. And seems way more fun than the test track. /derail

I've had no BSODs since though

The PSP turned it self off after I spent I a couple of minutes in pause during a race. I thought it was the powermanagement, so I turned it off.

And again last night when starting a race :grumpy:

Did you folks lose all the work that you put in? or credits that you earned?:ouch:
This is increasingly annoying and I wonder if the software itself is unstable even after they spent 5+ years making the game.

I was half-way during a really butt-tightning race on the Nurb against the AI with a high powered RWD car, and I was doing really well. I was not amused. ;)

NOO! I just had it happen to me. I was doing the GTP Member Time Attack Challenge, doing ok, then black screen. The worst part is I was doing ok at it.

Stats:
PSP 1002
OFW 6.10
UMD UCES-01245 (Euro/Aus)
