Let us know what you think of Brock's Group C 1984 Bathurst winning Commodore. This car was built late in 1984 for the Endurance Series. It won the last three of the five races, the only races it competed in. The Sandown 500, the Bathurst 1000 and the Surfers Paradise 300. The car was useless the next year because of the introduction of the Group A rules which nearly killed touring car racing in Australia. The car was sold off in 1985 and went to the UK where it was raced by John Cleland in the Thundersports series. The car came back to Australia in 2001 and the restoration was finished in 2003.
Definitley one of my all time favourite racing cars.

I plan on trying to get photos of every car and bike there, also there is some feature in Auto Car Mag about this years Goodwood FOS.

I try and scan it.

Found some more news for FOS:

No less than 14 world debuts of ultimate supercars will be taking place at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed – more than ever before at Lord March’s annual motoring extravanganza.

Much talked about ultimate road cars like the new baby Aston Martin V8 Vantage, BMW M6, Honda NSX Type R GT and Ferrari SuperAmerica will be demonstrated for the first time, complimented by a host of debuts from smaller bespoke manufacturers, like Marcos, Morgan, and Maybach. The new Alfa Romeo Brera will also be seen in action, a full 4 months even before its press launch.

But for many, it will be the world launch of the incredible Venturi Fetish supercar from Monaco, and the running of the mindblowing Pininfarina Maserati Birdcage 75 concept car which will steal the show. The incredible Venturi, which there has been rumours about for the past three years but hasn’t actually been seen until now, is the world’s first all-electric supercar. Capable of extremely high speeds (0-60mph in under 5 seconds is claimed) and well over 100 mph, the stunning open two-seater is the first serious electric sports car to be offered for sale in the supercar market. At £350,000 it isn’t cheap, and only 25 will be sold, but it is probably the most significant technological advance in road sports car production in 50 years.

The Pininfarina-Maserati Birdcage 75 was heralded as the most outstanding concept car in a generation at its unveiling at the this year’s Geneva Motor Show. It wasn’t meant to actually run, but the Earl of March persuaded Karl Heinz Kalbfell, head of Maserati, and Lorenzo Ramaciotti, the car’s creator and head of the Italian styling house, Pininfarina, to make it run for the Festival of Speed. The result is truly art in motion.

“It’s fantastic to have so many important supercars launched at the Festival this year” enthuses the Earl of March. “It works really well for manufacturer’s and the public, because unlike at motor shows the cars can actually be driven, and the public can be intimately part of the debuts, too – we’re not elitist here!”

Supercars are only a small part of the amazing Festival of Speed. Over 350 world class collector cars will take to the 1.16-mile Hill over the weekend, including seven of the current Formula One teams in their latest or very recent cars. Complimenting them will be the greatest ever collection of important motorcycles yet seen at the Festival, an all-new Forest Rally Stage featuring 30 incredible historic rally cars in action

I didn't have it at all a few years ago. Now it's really bad. I'm constantly want to sneeze and I have a really runny nose. My eyes only itch on really bad days. I'm alright in the house it's just when I'm outside. I'll just have to survive somehow at Goodwood...

Wear some sunglasses maybe.
It doesn't help with the sneezing though. Also I'll be taking pictures and video so my glasses might not be much use. I do use them all the time though, they really help rest my eyes.

BTW new avatar, I make them all by myself. Maybe the pictures I take tommorow will be my next one.

How many photos do you expect to take GT, I expect to take more then 200 or 300 photos.

I'm not sure. My Dad was going to take his laptop so if my camera got full, I could put it on the PC and take some more. He's not now because it's very hot and he doesn't want to take a heavy thing like that with him all day. I usually take pictures on a high quality setting, about 250 photos. I don't think that'll be enough so I'm turning the quality down to about 500 shots. I suppose the more the better.

But its better if the pixels are higher, also shame my big bro cannot take his laptop with him I had the same idea about the laptop like you.

Mines a 4 megapixel camera, what's your's (my Dad's is a 12 megapixel :D)? I never turn it down from that. I just turned it from high quality to normal quality.

Well the digi cam I be using is my dads old 3 megapixel or 4 megapixel one, cannot remember the 2 cameras my dad uses.

But I expect the cameras my dad uses more then 5 or 7 megapixels.

I have 1gb of memory card goodness, and I'm coming home each night, so I can post the best pictures each evening - assuming I work out how to use ImageShack, and, of course, if I'm not knackered from wandering around all day.

Oh, and if you're going tomorrow, take an umbrella - apparantly it's going to rain.

and to top it off to rub in the fact that im not going this year i found out today that my friend and his dad have got the job of moving cars about for the auction etc. :indiff: have fun you guys goin tho its a blast i tell thee 👍

ENjoy it guys, it one of my dreams to someday make it to the goodwood FOS, being in oz, we get nothing like it, i have seen footage and photos, but i still dream of being there

enjoy it, and i wanna see al the photos

cheers

A few hours to go! I was up 4.00am this morning with excitement. I can't remember the last time I got up so early. :)

Ok GT is up at Goodwood FOS now I bet he is getting wet from the rain if it is the same as where I am buds.

Ok, I'm back. I've had a great time, we got there at 9:45am and stayed untill 7:00pm (because we had to wait 40 mins to get out of the car park. :grumpy: ) I took about 150 picture and about 15 minutes of video.

I went on a ride in a Bowler Wild Cat. :D The experience was amazing. I lined up for about 50 minutes and the best thing was just before I had a ride in the passenger seat, the track was watered. There was this kid who was telling me that there is one mad driver there which drives really crazily, and I got him. :D He went around the first corner and accelerated down the straight. He extended that V8 to it's limit and sounded wonderful. Went around a another corner and went over a bump, BE WARNED, if anyone wants to go on the ride you must not have a sore head in anyway, that bump was so vicious I got a headache all day, which I still have now. :(

There was this old Honda which was reving in front of a crowd and made me half death. My Dad was actualy holding his ears (I didn't :D ), that's how loud it was. A few people cheered afterwards.

I saw the most exotic cars in the world. You've never seen so many nice cars in one place, a Zonda. Carrera GT, Merc SLR, 2 F430's, new Mustang, 2 Lamborghini Murcielago's and any more.

The cars going up and down the track were pretty loud and good too. I didn't see much as it as quite busy but the sound was good enough.

The weather was good all day untill about 4pm. If bucketed down with rain and thunder and lightning like no other. Me and my Dad brung all of our equipment and forgot to bring an umbrella. :grumpy: Me and Dad were lost from the people that we came with and for about 1 hour and a half were looking for them. It was a nightmare. At least most of the day was great. 👍

Now I'm totaly knackered. :indiff:

as nice as the supercars are, theyr so quiet compared to the older beasts lol, where are those pics taken? is that at the top of the hill? :indiff: i miss that place, meh maybe next year. my dad went today, tha fool didnt get me a guide book :grumpy:

Great photos your photos are the benchmark for me I must admit looking forward to taking more then 200 photos.

'Twas a good day. I only went around the stands and paddock today, accumulating free stuff - posters and suchlike - so I didn't see much on track; I'll do that tomorrow and Sunday.

There were, in total, 3 SLRs, 2 Carrera GTs, 2 Toyota GT-ONEs, loads of F430s and Lambos, and a hell of a lot more.

Autograph count: 2. I got Matt Neal's within an hour of my arrival, and I got Sir Stirling Moss' later in the afternoon. I would've got Murray Walker's as well, but I didn't have a pen. I'll get it sometime over the weekend.

I got back about 9.15pm - took me half an hour to get out of the car park, the first 20 minutes of which was used to travel approx. 50 feet.

G.T., did you have a go on the Gran Turismo simulator thing in the PS2 tent? it was awsome - you had 240 seconds (4 minutes) to try and do 3 laps of New York in a Pescarolo, all of which was hooked up to a simulator thing which moved forward, back and sideways when you braked, accelerated and turned. It was good fun, but also nigh-on impossible.

I was glad the rain held off for a while, but it really went for it when it did start. I took some pictures of the Ford stand from the Alfa Romeo stand. The Ford stand had been crawling with people all day - the new GT was there, as was the '06 Focus rally car - and it was deserted. Thankfully it only lasted an hour.

I'm definately going on the Bowler tomorrow. Also going to have a look at the rally stage.

Well, you can't say I didn't warn you!

EDIT: Oh yeah - and I took 465 photos today.

Do they sell programs up at Goodwood FOS also the person I will try and get an autograph off mainly is Jackie Stewart.

Also if anyone got vids plz post them up leaving for Goodwood FOS at 7am on Sunday w00t got my food, drinks and mags for in the car ready.

Yep, programs are £10 each. Which is a lot, but you do get a free mini radio thing for listening to Radio Goodwood FoS.

I don't think Jackie Stewart is there this weekend. He is going to be at the Revival Meeting in September though.
