I think it was the whole site. In fact, I'm pretty sure it was.

Well, there's thousands of things that could cause the server to go down, and unless you're administrating the server, there's really no way to know exactly what happened. I haven't heard anything from my hosting company, but apparently a rather large group of sites also went down at this same time due to a faulty upstream provider. So, most likely it wasn't the unique GTP server, but the entire datacenter it is hosted in.

I think it was the whole site. In fact, I'm pretty sure it was.
