Anyone have a working gauge cluster for their sim games?

I'm just putting a feeler out there incase someone here actually has a working cluster and use it in their cockpit.

I really want to do this but I'm in need of help for sure. I would love to add a cluster for speed, tach, fuel, water temp, and shift light.

I know X-Sim have software to send the correct info to a cluster but I will need a module to handle that data as well as a cluster that will work with it and about a dozen other details I'm sure.

Any info provided will be appreciated!

You can drive a dashboard cluster with 2 RevBurners. The problem is how to connect the revburners with the gauges. I talked (through emails) to Cristiano from Symprojects and he told me all this. He's even thinking about making it possible to make every gauge on a dashboard cluster working with revburner(s).

I've got myself a GI max and a Rev Burner... Just waiting on a tach.. I will let you guys know when I hook it up.

According to their site the Rev-burner in conjuction with their software will work with any electronic tach. It should be as simple as buying an electronic tach, a power supply for the Rev burner, the rev burner itself and downloading their software.

Now I have seen other modules being used with X-Sim's software that allows all gauges to work off the single module but I can not find where to buy them. I've read that the one I was looking at isn't made any longer.

I need to send an email to X-Sim and see what they say.

I'd be happy to have a working tach if anything. It would just add a little more awesome to my cockpit.

Today I received a Mondeo Dashboard cluster, power supply and two revburners from Symprojects

I'll take some photos and maybe make a video clip later on and post it here.

Please do! And why two rev-burners? Is there a way to get one to work for the speedo?

By all means if this works please come back and educate. I'd love to do this myself.

If you're interested, Cristiano from Symprojects still has a few dashboards ready to go.

One revburner for the tacho and the other is for the speedo.

The only problem I have with all this is if you use analog gauges the redline will most likely not line up with the car your driving, that is why a digital tach is much better for something like this.

That is awesome. Do you know which dash cluster he is selling?
I bought a Mondeo Ghia dash. I'll ask him.
He has two Ford Mondeo Ghia dashboards for sale.
You can contact Cristiano through this e-mail address: contact@symprojects.com

Thanks for the info but that dash will not work for me. I'm going to buy a tach and separate speedo. I really want a white face and a tach that reaches 10k with a shift light.

I'm sure these are electronic. Analog 'style' yes but everything is controlled electronically.

LOL.. I don't think you understood. Yes I was talking about analog style digital gauges and how the redline will not line up. Get it?

Lets use your example..

So lets say you have a tach that reaches 10k, if you want to drive a car that has more or less rpm's to redline; it will not show properly as being redlined. So Digital gauges are the way to go here imo.

I'm looking at one of these for my revburner (the red one):

I understand what you mean but as I just tested the dashboard, I can say that you're, mmm, wrong. There are profiles in the DashSim software and you can manually adjust the rpm. And don't forget that you can also adjust the max. rpm of a car in the race game setup. If you have a car, ingame, that has a max rpm of 10.000, you can adjust this in the car setup to match this with you tacho.

Well what I mean is your redline as shown on your tach will not be same as in game unless you adjust max rpm of a car like you say. Sure it will show the same rpm's but the REDLINE is what we are talking about here. Just my opinion and is why I have chosen the above gauge or something similar.

I see what you mean stega. I did misunderstand you. The tach I am buying does not have a redline mark or needle on it. I'll be using a shift light. So no matter what car I'm driving once I hit the redline of the cars I'm driving the shift-light will come on. This is easily programed for the tach.

here is a pic of my tach:

Yes the redline of the tacho ingame doesn't match with the redline on your tacho.
Do you think that the revburner can drive a digital tacho?

Hello everybody.
I am Cristiano from Symprojects and I tought it would be useful to come here and answer some questions.

@kikie: if the digital tacho accepts the same connections and signal of analog tachos (and I think it does), they will work with the Rev Burner.
If you point me to a particular product, I can double check for you.

Cheers
Cristiano

How about AIM Sports XML Gauge Cluster

I think Logitech should build some cool cluster designs.

I'm thinking PD is going to with the PSP for GT5. it wouldn't be too hard to implement with the game, plus it would sell a lot of PSP units. IMO

That would be cool if they did. Especially in a collaborated effort with logitech with some sort of device that users can attach to and detach from their Logitech wheel when needed. Now that also makes me wonder is a button box add-on along the lines of this will come out as well if Sony makes a PS3 with touch screen capabilities.
