So as we know, there are at least four tiers in GTS. There's Gr.1, Gr.3, Gr.4, and the N-Series. Respectively, they resemble LMPs, GT3, GT4, and the N-Series is just road cars. So of the cars we know are in GTS, which cars do you think will be in each known tier?
Gr1:
Mazda LM55 VGT
Bugatti VGT
Alpine VGT Race Mode
Hyundai N2025 VGT
SRT Tomahawk VGT
Peugeot 908 HDi FAP
Toyota TS030 Hybrid
Audi R18 TDi
Gr3:
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C7 Gr3
Subaru WRX Gr3
Toyota FT-1 VGT Gr3
Alfa Romeo 4C Gr3
Volkswagen GTi VGT Gr3
Jaguar F-Type Gr3
Peugeot VGT Gr3
McLaren 650S GT3
Ferrari 458 Italia GT3
Audi R8 (2nd-gen) LMS
Renault Sport R.S. 01 GT3
Aston Martin Vantage GT3
BMW Z4 GT3
Mercedes-Benz SLS-AMG GT3
Nissan GT-R GT3
Gr4:
Lexus RC-F RM
Mazda MX-5 ND RM
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X RM
N-Series:
Ford Focus ST
Alfa Romeo MiTo
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C7
Rally(?):
Ford Mustang GT Mk.VI Group B Rally Car
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Rally Car
N200*:
Mazda Roadster S
*Label seen in race at Tokyo expressway, additional details unknown. Perhaps part of the N-Series?
Notably, I am unsure how some other cars will be classified, such as some returning cars like the Aston Martin One-77 and the Lotus Evora, and some newcomers like the Ferrari LaFerrari, Lamborghini Veneno, and the Audi TTS MkIII. It also appears some cars, such as the Mazda LM55 VGT, will have separate specs for the car as it was initially designed, and as it is modified for fair racing, lest it have an unfair advantage. This seems like some real-world racing series where the cars will have less power as racers than their road cars, for the sake of balancing - very interesting.
Now, assuming all premium cars from GT6 are fair game, I'd imagine that the majority of VGTs are gonna be injected into Gr3 - perhaps except for the Chaparral 2X, which feels more likely to fit into Gr1. Likewise, the cars that were previously "touring cars" and "RM" cars will likely go into Gr4. And I only assume that the N-Series will not be a haphazard selection of road cars with their stock specs, but rather cars modified within a regulation - why else would they put an MX-5 with a Corvette C7?
Notably, there is overlap between automakers and tiers, such as Alfa Romeo having representation in both Gr3 and the N-Series, while Peugeot, Toyota and Audi all have representation in Gr3 and Gr1. I deduct that each automaker will have a car for each tier - perhaps for the N-Series, Audi will have the TTS MkIII we saw, and Aston Martin and Ferrari would respectively have the One-77 and the LaFerrari. I also assume that like the Mazda LM55 and its Gr1-spec version, some cars will be less or more powerful to better fit into the tier.
I also am slightly concerned about the lack of older cars, but perhaps they are tucked away in a hidden tier, or perhaps will be saved as DLC, or in GT7 - I am entirely unsure.
