I give it to Sony by doing a unique selling point of having all their XPERIA devices waterproof and it actually works. The G-Shock phones are pretty cool, pity they aren't sold here.

Well, I dropped my old Nokia 7110 in a pub toilet, vomited on it, flushed the toilet, the phone stayed in the bowl, I accidentally left it in there for one hour. Retrieved it later on, allowed it to dry, charged it up.. it worked.

I didn't keep it though.
 You didn't keep it after you bothered to fish it out of a vomitous public toilet bowl after it had marinated there for an hour, and actually hooked it up to charge??

What did you do with it? Donate it to Refuge?

Yeah I remember that phone.
I had a Bolder for about a year. That was a very durable flip phone. I actually tried to kill it in reasonably ways, it never died.

I am surprised I haven't heard of more people taking the phrase "Go sync your iPod" to the next level.

It looks like 4chan aren't done with iPhone users:

I want to see if someone does it.

I will laugh harder.

But i doubt it since most iphone users know if it drop it the screen shatters into smithereens.

I don't if Appe users are stupid or not, what I do know is that you can get better technology for lower prices. I mean, WAAAAAAY better like with Sony.

I have an iPhone 4 and updated to IOS 7 like, 3 days ago and it has been freezing and going slow off and on since. Needless to say, I shouldn't have updated.

On the topic of the false claims being made about the update and it protecting the phone's delicate circuitry, anyone with half a brain would know that was b******t from beginning.

Those who broke their iPhones and iPads because they were under this false impression are incredibly stupid. They deserve what they did. The rising stupidity is astounding.

Well it's obvious from the tons of press releases confirming that this is the least durable iPhone and general phone on the market, that they are trying to defeat this great prank. Man people should lighten up and learn what software is.

Well, that's the whole point of the thread title.

I'm sure it is...but it's also just the title of a "thread" - a means of communicating where people give their* input or response.

Yes, most iOS users are really that dense. That said, I once dropped my old iPod into a toilet and it still works to this day.

Read:
The issue isn't that iPhone owners are stupid, but that stupid people that own iPhones are stupid.

People who generalize Apple users are just as bad as Apple users who can't stop praising Apple products.

Ya'know what, you (and Famine) are 100% right, I really shouldn't generalize like that, and it was stupid of me to do so.

(do note that this post is genuine and not sarcasm)

Well, there could be a correlation between peoples susceptibility to suggestion, what they read in print, and the purchasing decisions they make, especially with a 'style heavy' brand such as Apple.

Ah 4chan, awarding Darwin Awards since 2003.
I knew this would happen once I saw the picture for the first time.

Agreed.

Now, don't take this as me saying that you need to be gullible to buy an Apple product or anything. Just that I do think that the percentage of gullible people is above average amongst Apple's customers.

Apple made the ipad mini after they saw how popular samsungs 7" tablets were.

Apple made colored plastic phones to be "Cheaper", samsung had colored plastic phones.

If I recall, Nokia made coloured plastic phones before Samsung.

Those are brick phones.

I had a red one and it was my first mobile phone as well.

Look at apples nano pod they mske it small then large then small again (so it looks like they improved it)

The iPhone 5S is currently the fastest smartphone in the world. It is amazing the jump in performance with iPhone 5 and now 5S. Smartphones in terms of performance have taken huge leaps and now at decent laptop speeds. Shame that Qualcomm is behind Apple, quite embarrassing really.

I've never used an iPod nano past the 3rd Generation, but I'd imagine the 6th generation ran into a bit of "tactile limitation" whereby either users wanted more features, or their fingers weren't able to make full use of the tiny screen. After all, the human hand isn't going to change shape quickly. Give it a few hundred years.

I'm pretty sure it was revealed that many of the tweet responses were counter-trolling?

Or is it possible to tweet from a busted iPhone? :D

-

These pranks are fun and all, but not always as successful as the gullible would think.

Too bad one couldn't use, dunno, a computer or another smartphone, or maybe a friend's iPhone to make a tweet... :grumpy:

If they're that stupid? No. I don't think it's possible for them to even breathe without their i-Lung.

-

I don't doubt someone somewhere was possibly stupid enough to fall for this, but a lot of the responses were part of the joke.

Every time I look at this thread's title it annoys me and then I leave the Opinions forum.

iPhone users might be stupid enough to dunk their phones in a toilet, yeah. But Samsung users are stupid enough to stuff a freaking HDTV in their pockets and hold it with both hands while talking or texting. So I guess everybody's an idiot, aren't they?

I draw the line at 6 inches for screens to be used as phones. 5 inches is the best size, unless you have child hands or tiny pockets.

Besides, when was the last time you saw someone calling someone on their mobile?

Honestly, I would rather call instead of text.

I guess. I feel like this is just a fanboyish rant though. iPhones work and work well. A friend of mine swears by Motorola Droid phones and I think he is on his third one because they never work.

On the other hand, Samsung phones are supposed to be very good. I just can't see why they make the phones so big though. It's like carrying a tablet PC around in your pocket.

Ehh, I was happy with my original Motorola V220. It was built like a tank and always worked. It did everything I needed it to do. Make calls and send the occasional text message.

Samsung make big phones to cater for all people.

Why did apple make a cheaper phone?
to appeal to more people.
