Hello everybody.
I'm sorry to have to make the same topic again, but my first thread on the Q&A didn't get any replies.

There's plenty of cars that come with spoilers as standard equipment when you purchase them. For example, the 08 Civic Type R has a spoiler that is functional in real life, but does it actually provide downforce or do you need to get one of those ugly wings in GT auto?
Thanks a lot :)

I imagine that PD has included cars' levels of drag and lift in their physics engine, and honestly I've felt that I've noticed differences in lift between certain cars when they are stock.

So short answer, yes. If it provides downforce in real life it also does in the game.

Cheers

It made a noticeable difference on my M3, it reduced the way the rear slid around during high speed cornering and made the car feel more stable on straights.

The Zonda R, for one end of the "stock" spectrum, most definitely has functional stock aero.

But yes, I believe PD programs drag, downforce, lift, etc in with each car in stock form. Just drive cars that come standard with more or less aero, see how they handle at high speed :)

It depends on the car whether the stock spoiler does anything.

The NSX-R for example seems to have an ineffective rear spoiler whilst the RX-7 Spirit R has some downforce stock, as do most of the Skyline GT-Rs.

The Viper ACR feels too grippy at stock levels to NOT have it's aero accounted into the equation. So I believe stock aero parts do work, yeah.
