I will start off by saying.... I look forword to the new events, even if they are just super laps. Atleast it's something. This last set of seasonals i find insulting. Thanks for the intense experience of a fire breathing mazda @ a staggering 410pp, a frigen FF, and a electric car on a wet track. After half a lap i was hoping to be electricuted. Not because it was difficult (first lap gold), but because it's boring. I'm starting to think these events are geared towards 8 year old girls. Loved the diablo GT2 event, plenty of muscle n a great sound. I must have done 500 laps or so. I know that they can't please everyone every time, but 3 events all with the same theme of... drive slow cause your 8 years old, and you don't have a fast car anyway. Might just be me? Most likely it is just me. I do feel alot better now, thanks for letting me vent. Girls don't take my comments the wrong way. I know your in these forums, no disrespect ment at all. I have even used some of your tunes.

i agree entirely, but i dont think PD thinks were 8, but they probably aren't expecting us to already have enough money to afford really fast car (which 99% of us do of course) but i think they are trying to give seasonals for people who arent good and/or have only just got the game. having said that, PLEASE PD GIVE US BETTER SEASONAL EVENTS!!!!

Hi there.

I will start off by saying.... I look forword to the new events, even if they are just super laps. Atleast it's something.

Well that's a start.

This last set of seasonals i find insulting. Thanks for the intense experience of a fire breathing mazda @ a staggering 410pp, a frigen FF, and a electric car on a wet track.

This is variety. Rampaging around in a Ferrari is great and all, but different events like this offer different challenges to different people. There are people who will find a lower PP car on tyres made of soap harder to get a good time in. There will be people who don't usually drive FF if at all possible.

Not because it was difficult (first lap gold), but because it's boring.

To you. However I'm sure I don't need to tell you that you're not the only one playing. :)

I'm starting to think these events are geared towards 8 year old girls.

Now this I'm going to need you to expand on a bit. Leaving the girl bit aside because it's a bit redundant, why would the average 8 year old chose this over a muscle car or whatever the latest 6000hp hypercar made of carbon and enthusiasm is. Have you ever met an 8 year old? Particularly one that loves cars? I'd argue the exact opposite. The lower PP events (particularly the wet track events) are geared towards older users and the more hardcore drivers that want to hone their skills.

Loved the diablo GT2 event, plenty of muscle n a great sound. I must have done 500 laps or so.

Well that's nice. :)

I know that they can't please everyone every time

This. A metric tonne of this. When your fanbase largely consists of every demographic ever, it's tricky to find what pleases everyone so the sheer variety they give us is probably pretty good. One day you'll be in the Lamborghini like you mentioned, the next you'll need to thread a -50pp Suzuki around a twisty track at Mach 2.

but 3 events all with the same theme of... drive slow cause your 8 years old, and you don't have a fast car anyway.

Again I wonder if you've ever met an 8 year old. They often drive like Lindsay Lohan on speedballs.

Might just be me? Most likely it is just me.

If it helps, it's probably not just you.

Girls don't take my comments the wrong way. I know your in these forums, no disrespect ment at all.

I don't really see why this is relevant but OK.

I have even used some of your tunes.

I know right? It's a wonder they have time to put a tune together what with all that menstruating and baking.

Here, eat a snickers.....better now?

Actually kind of know where you're coming from, was a bit perplexed myself about the low PP for all 3 TT's....

Having said that it takes a certain kind of skill to drive these cars FAST, I got up to a break neck speed of 114 mph in the Clio, I wouldn't recommend an 8 yr old girl does that

I don't think it's because they think we are 8 years old but it is because they have limited the Seasonals, so far, to cars that are won in career mode (well, apart from the Anniversary ones). I haven't found them to be boring, maybe a bit too easy but then this game has been aimed at the casual players from day 1 so it's not a surprise. I actually enjoyed doing the Tsukuba one as we haven't had a TT in the wet before so it was a new challenge. If I didn't spend almost all my time doing WRS TT's, then I would probably spend quite a bit of time on the seasonal ones.

One true thing is that PD seems to have hard time to create those events. They are not very smart. They release them by 3. So why not creating 1 with street car, 1 with sport car, 1 with racing car. Is it THAT difficult ?

So people you would have 3 different rythms, and everyone would be happy.

One thing that saddens me, it's about the rewards you get. I do those events only to get their rare paint chips. But come on, 3 chips every weeks ? That's not enough ! When will we be able to get the "Chrome/Gold paint" that suits rims perfectly in some cases ? Or the fluo paints that improve your Time Attack/Drift car's look ?? Furthermore, those things can't even be found IN GAME.

Matte Black ? Matte Silver ? All we got is Matte Red and Matte Blue (yeaaaaah).

Come on PD, give us INTERESTING EVENTS with INTERESETING REWARDS !! Or at least, give us the opportunity to buy them !

To answer the question which headlines this thread:

No.

But I could easily have a grandson (or granddaughter) of this age. And these seasonals are the ones in which I placed best regarding online timetables. So I guess the seasonals are directed more towards the 80 y/o than 8 y/o. (I didn´t meet many 8 or 80 y/o though.)

Or perhaps they are for people who've just bought the game and don't have enough credit to buy and tune a fast car.

There are plenty of relatively slow cars in GT6, so why not put them to good use? I'm surprised that there aren't any kei car events in the game.

As nursemorph said, most if not all the cars in these events are reward cars. So that don't seem to be the case.

It takes no skill to drive these cars fast , simply turn SRF ON :-( Here in lies the problem with the seasonals ;-(

Hi there.

Well that's a start.

Well i can't be a tuff guy face to face with people. So i'll play one in this forum. Thats all i can guess ur doing?

Agree

You sure don't danny!

I'll expand... Reading comprehension is not your strongest trait. We don't get to chose, we are told what to drive! So what kind of cars would you give a 8year old to drive? Thats right... SLOW ONES! Seems like the cars are not the only thing slow around here. Sorry no smiley face.

Well that's nice. :)

Well that event was interesting enough to make me do a ton of laps. I think the online tuff guy thing pops up here as well.

I agree, just in the set of 3 events. Make the pp levels a bit more spread out.
Again I wonder if you've ever met an 8 year old. They often drive like Lindsay Lohan on speedballs.

Very funny, but very true! Wonder no more... I have

If it helps, it's probably not just you.

It dose help. I might be interpreting your comments wrong, but i doubt it. I know this is not the place to bicker back n fourth. For that i am sorry to the people it concerns. Just wanted to respond to some of these comments.

I don't really see why this is relevant but OK.

Again.... Reading comprehension! I referenced 8 year old girls! Glad to see its OK with you. Whats sad about this is you commented on each part of this separately, including that part! Proving that your just looking to rip on someone. Then again maybe, you forgot after you traveled a whole 5 lines down the page? Heck, i have done it. Not when i was pretending to be something that i'm not though.

I know right? It's a wonder they have time to put a tune together what with all that menstruating and baking.
Now this is funny! I know it sounded bad, after reading it later. It was why i liked your reply. Made me forget all the other stuff. Smiley face for you!

You can gold it easier, but it's still no replacement for real driving skill.

Hi there.

I wasn't originally going to respond to this. Partly because the formatting is a mess and partly because it feels an awful lot like shooting fish in a barrel. Then I reached this little nugget:

Seems like the cars are not the only thing slow around here.

...and so here we go. Open season. :)

Well i can't be a tuff guy face to face with people. So i'll play one in this forum. Thats all i can guess ur doing?

Firstly, you don't know me in any capacity whatsoever. You've been here all of five minutes, please do not attempt some kind of Psych 101 on me. Secondly If all it takes to be a 'tuff guy' is disagreeing with you, then you can go ahead and think of me as Jean-Claude Van Danny.

Irony incoming in 3..2..

Reading comprehension is not your strongest trait.

We don't get to chose, we are told what to drive!

I am aware, yes. If we were talking about letting people choose what they want to drive, that would be another matter. What we're talking about is, at it's core, Marketing. What PD gives us for Seasonals. Why would PD give '8 year olds' something slow because they're 8? Oh wait, you've answered that:

So what kind of cars would you give a 8year old to drive? Thats right... SLOW ONES!

Erm...why? Well, when I say you've answered that...

Seems like the cars are not the only thing slow around here. Sorry no smiley face.

Devastated.

Again.... Reading comprehension!

Please appreciate the irony of twice criticising my English skills while your reply is littered with typos and an apparently crippling phobia of grammar. But hey, if you can't be right, be rude.

I referenced 8 year old girls!

Again, why is the girl part particularly important?

Whats sad about this is you commented on each part of this separately, including that part! Proving that your just looking to rip on someone.

If you didn't want people to respond, why did you post? :)

Then again maybe, you forgot after you traveled a whole 5 lines down the page? Heck, i have done it.

Now you've completely lost me. 5 lines?

Not when i was pretending to be something that i'm not though.

Again I don't understand why you're acting like you know me. Little jabs here and there doesn't help support your argument, it just sounds like desperation. That and you haven't actually backed anything up. With information.

You've claimed that 'a staggering 410pp, a frigen FF, and a electric car on a wet track' is there to pander to 8 year olds (for some reason specifically girls? ) because apparently you'd apparently give these cars to an 8 year old to drive. But you haven't explained why.

It would be so easy to fix this...

Distinct leaderbords. Driving aids on/off.

- People would stop complaining about SRF (I'm one of these, but I respect ALOT everyone, SRF or non SRF).
- More people whould get into seasonals, because, like most of us know, there's people out there that are non SRF that lost their intest for the leaderbords because most of TOP1000 are SRF users. You can make BRILLIANT lap and only be like 6xx or 7xx lol it doesnt feel fair. I really think there should be 2 leaderbords in this :)

Huh the problem is competitive nature or possibly stupidity.

You get a reasonable amount of credits & a paint chip for taking part, unless you really thought ohh what a great colour I must have it why did you willingly enter an event in a car you you don't like & who forced you to turn SRF on.

If you want to time trial pick a car & track you like with the settings you want & go do it.

Would you pay someone to smack you in the face with a kipper?

Yet you enter a race you don't like & didn't need to & pay money to do so because you bought the game.

Next thing you know people will start watching stuff on TV & moaning about it instead of changing channels or switching it off.

Oops that happens thought we were supposed to be the intelligent species.

I really miss George Bush

I didn't know SRF was a magic skill cancelling button that made everyone do exactly the same lap times... Oh wait.
It's more like an invisible hand that glue your car to the ground, so it's more like: Super Mario Kart mode

No its not Mario its Daytona USA slam the brakes on lift off the brakes to turn. SRF just kills everything they have improved on gt6 and just turns back time to the 90's arcades :(((

actually, it onl activates once you start loosing traction, and in all honesty, it only makes a noticeable difference to cars with bad traction. for instance, in the LCC rocket, the SSRF will have almost NO effect on its drive ability.

I beg to differ.....

You are saying that a 2-4 second per lap performance gain in the Rocket at Suzuka is not a direct effect of the stability which srf gives to a car. How is that then?

Without srf, the Rocket has a much higher tendency of the rear stepping out under acceleration, it will slide around a lot more, and can be a troublesome little handful on the track if you are overly aggressive with your inputs.

With the new patch & SRF on karts thought I would try it as that race was a killer, then did a bit of back to back testing using cars with SRF on then off.
Totally different vehicle you can take lines that are impossible without it.
Small gains out of tight corners as just stops wheel spin.
Fast long sweepers though the gains are massive because you have loads more grip so can go round the whole corner a lot faster.
Right track & car & the gains are huge not just a few seconds.
I would not be surprised if SRF lets a road car take fast sweepers quicker than a race car despite its down force.
Certainly ruins the feel of the car so its not for me.

so its basically to do with leader boards is this the problem, people who were once not good are now up there amongst some of the elite, yep i am one dont care, i too can turn it off and be couple secs slower, but i also like the new challenge of getting up there.....but still to me this is just a game that i love, i am no pro never will be dont want to be.....and yes i can see the side of driving skills without it, and we just need to remember they are just laps that you can do whatever you want in, for it is up to the player who has the power to make this decision.
