so its basically to do with leader boards is this the problem, people who were once not good are now up there amongst some of the elite, yep i am one dont care, i too can turn it off and be couple secs slower, but i also like the new challenge of getting up there.....but still to me this is just a game that i love,i am no pro never will be dont want to be.....

Its all relative, those guys who were 'once not good' haven't gotten better because they are higher up on a leaderboard thanks to an assist.

And why don't you want to be a pro? If you continually play this game for a given amount of time you will get 'better' whether you like it or not. Those 'pros' you see at the top of a leaderboards have a naturally ability AND put in a ton of time and effort..... and in GT6's case with a helping assist... or two.

yes it would be nice to improve way better than i am i just dont get the time to get on it a great deal,i only get the chance for some laps here and there and playing around with some of my tuning, need to get a spare tv so i can sit on the other side of the room and not share the main one lol but i love the challenge in all aspects,i have improved my times a lot...i have a lot of respect for those guys that are up there they are amazing...plus places like gtplanet gives you lots of tips and knowledge to learn....did not mean for it to sound like that sorry if i upset anyone did not mean too

I could understand if these were the seasonals for the first two weeks of December when the game came out (because no one had a lot of money then) but for March, that's ridiculous. We should be driving Ferraris, Lambos, and other expensive cars for seasonals now...

I was 8 in the 80's. Atari 2600, commodores Vic20 and 64 were all we had for computer games. Racing large pixels from above, mainly in a straight line.

To the OP, all you 8 year olds today are spoiled for choice and quality.
Pole Position was the best racing game EVER! But I was old enough to play it in bars in the early 80's, so maybe you missed out.

you forgot the Sinclair ZX Spectrum ...what a thrill that was... to put the tape in and wait for it to boot... you could hear the data squeaking ... took forever... and oops bad tape... no boot... retry...

That was one of my first ever games back in the mid 80's, played it so much the tape wore out...

Racing Destruction Set, now THATS a classic racing game for the C64! Took longer to load than the 3 new seasonals take to complete :boggled:

My first ever gaming system was the Vectrex. I cant remember if it took cartridge or tape it was so long ago. I do remember playing pole position on it though. Great little game back in the 80s

It takes 2 weeks to complete the seasonals. Gold medal is just to win money/paint, the challenge is trying to climb the leaderboard.

Really, why?

- These cars are only a small proportion of the cars in the game.

- Not everyone is interested in these cars.

- Not everyone spends all their spare time playing the game and gaining credits.

- If you want to do time trials in supercars, why not go and do time trials in supercars. Don't wait for Thursday.

Now, moaners please stop moaning and we will see you in the top 50 of the FXX TT .

The only driving game I remember when I was 8 is Night Driver! And that was before the days of home consoles

O dear god, really  .... of all the lame ass 'retorts' that takes the biscuit... :indiff:
Self-diagnostic might be a good idea. I'd ask you to justify your reasoning in thinking that your post was in any way reasonable or excusable but I'm not sure your answer would do you any favours. There's 10 infraction points in it for you if you can push it any further. 👍

It was inexcusable, I apologise if I've hurt anyones feelings

I wasn`t hurt. :)
But trying to climb the seasonal`s leaderboard is at least ONE motivation to play the game. Mostly not my cup of tea because I´m not patient enough AND not talented at all.

Hi there.

I wasn't originally going to respond to this. Partly because the formatting is a mess and partly because it feels an awful lot like shooting fish in a barrel. Then I reached this little nugget:

...and so here we go. Open season. :)

Sure "open season" you say? This is not open season, this is your safe place. Thats all it is.

Firstly, you don't know me in any capacity whatsoever. You've been here all of five minutes, please do not attempt some kind of Psych 101 on me. Secondly If all it takes to be a 'tuff guy' is disagreeing with you, then you can go ahead and think of me as Jean-Claude Van Danny.

So responding to my first sentence you say "well thats a start" is that disagreeing with me? Nope just a mad little guy (boy). Who needs to let it out somewhere. So you chose a safe place, your safe place. The land of make believe. Good choice i must say. Alll i needed was the 15 seconds it took to read your first reply to know what you are. Never claimed to know who you are.

Irony incoming in 3..2..

I am aware, yes. If we were talking about letting people choose what they want to drive, that would be another matter. What we're talking about is, at it's core, Marketing. What PD gives us for Seasonals. Why would PD give '8 year olds' something slow because they're 8? Oh wait, you've answered that:

Erm...why? Well, when I say you've answered that...

Devastated.

Please appreciate the irony of twice criticising my English skills while your reply is littered with typos and an apparently crippling phobia of grammar. But hey, if you can't be right, be rude

Can't disagree with you. Grammer, spelling, and other things i'm no good at. RUDE you say? Well there's no right or wrong answer ( unless u work for PD ) But i'm super happy you think your right! About what? IDK?

Again, why is the girl part particularly important?

I'm sure someone who likes you can explain.

If you didn't want people to respond, why did you post? :)

I wrote it to see if anyone felt the same way. Some did, some did not. Your the only one who took the time to respond to each sentence. Even though they were not questions. Thats were you told me alot about your self. Taking little boy type of jabs at every sentence. You don't understand what a dead give away it is, do ya? It speaks to your lack of character, and upbringing. To just start attack a post that wasn't aimed at you or anyone on this site. All it did was ask a question. You thought it was more important to comment like a coin slot, insted of just disagreeing.

Now you've completely lost me. 5 lines?

Again I don't understand why you're acting like you know me. Little jabs here and there doesn't help support your argument, it just sounds like desperation. That and you haven't actually backed anything up. With information.

Thats what you don't get danny!!!!!! I have no argument? Never did???? So what do you want me to back up? It was my opinion that low pp seasonals, seemed to target a younger demographic, with all three events being under 500 pp. I even said it's most likely just me who feels this way. Your flat out, A FAKE! It's that simple, and that easy to spot. Sorry the new guy spotted it, and called you out in front of your friends. Agree disagree, i don't care ether way. But have a fake tuff guy smart a$$ comment for every sentence, i'm going to call them how i see them. Thats not being desperate, it's being real. Treat people with some respect, even when you know your out of there reach. Tell me your comments would be the same, if we were in the same room. A total stranger comes up to you and said what i did when i started this thread. Go right ahead and lie, to yourself and all who read this. Tell me how you would say the same things. I know you wouldn't, you know you wouldn't. So act like you have a pair, and stop fantasizing. Unless you have no teeth, and suffered many knockouts. Your not really like this in real life. There's always time left to change, start with being a man 101! Save the bull for people that are close enough to show you how to act. Thats TRIPLE the time i think your worth.

You've claimed that 'a staggering 410pp, a frigen FF, and a electric car on a wet track' is there to pander to 8 year olds (for some reason specifically girls? ) because apparently you'd apparently give these cars to an 8 year old to drive. But you haven't explained why.

It don't take but 5 seconds to tell if someones trying way to hard. I do know what you want to be. Thats all to ove

I will start off by saying.... I look forward to the new events, even if they are just super laps. At least it's something. This last set of seasonals I find insulting.

Thanks for the intense experience of a fire breathing mazda at a staggering 410pp, a friggen FF, and an electric car on a wet track. After half a lap I was hoping to be electrocuted. Not because it was difficult (first lap gold), but because it's boring.

I'm starting to think these events are geared towards 8 year old girls. Loved the diablo GT2 event, plenty of muscle and a great sound. I must have done 500 laps or so. I know that they can't please everyone every time, but 3 events all with the same theme of... drive slow cause you're 8 years old, and you don't have a fast car anyway. Might just be me? Most likely it is just me.

I do feel a lot better now, thanks for letting me vent. Girls don't take my comments the wrong way. I know you're in these forums, no disrespect meant at all. I have even used some of your tunes.

Let me know if I missed any. Should make it a little easier to read.

Your original post structure post was awful, and I had to cut it down. Anyways!

Man. Next one should be the forced stock, on comfort hards with Diahatsu Midget around the Nurburgring Nordschleife. (DO IT, PD!) That should make you spoon your eyeballs out.

It'll make the 8 year old girl in me happy.

Clearly the "slow" cars aren't to your liking, but there are plenty of people that would argue it's difficult to maintain speed for faster lap times in cars with less power. It also makes sense to me that a batch of economical and eco-friendly cars be lumped together in a seasonal event set. (Do you want they should have a massively overpowered exotic in there? And admit even you would likely even question its placement.) Maybe the game just isn't for you. Want exotics? Go play Need For Speed. Or maybe you should make an effort to enjoy the game more by pushing those "slow" cars faster and faster. They're putting prize cars to use, and when they're not, they're not forcing us to buy something obscenely expensive if we wish to participate.
