ha! I did the first round and then he was about to walk out the door for the second and I was all “no way. I want to use this as a workout” lol

Come shovel the 6 inches we got here, wait I think it's more like 8!

Man, chivalry is truly dead. Back in my day, and even to this day, it was unheard of for a woman to be snow shoveling, or anything else like that. (Pumping gas, cutting grass, etc).
Now, I'm just gonna sit back and wait for all of the "old timer" wisecracks to start rolling in. LMFAO. Im ready for you boys and girl!

Im pretty sure back in your day you were bonking them on the head with a club and dragging them back to your cave.

I use gloves too. But no racing seat, I’m limited to a seat from a wrecked Chevy cruize, but it was free.99

Honestly it's not that much better if any. First thing I did when I got my seat was get the lower back pad. In 90min+ races without it is absolutely brutual for me because of my shortness i sit very straight up.

You guys have any PC or iRacing questions?

I caught up on the thread since DP's (yes, I said it cuz that's how I know you :) ) tag. Yeah, I now iR is expensive, but what it really boils down to is one question... how much value do you find in close division racing like you find here? Now imagine you can have that nearly ANYTIME of the ANY Day, amongst several disciplines of your choosing.

As far as PC goes...
  1. Start with a budget.
  2. Decide:
    1. I'm completely strong enough to restrain myself from the PC rabbit hole of upgrading/adding peripherals & my budget is less than $900 for a new system.
    2. I recognize the flexibility of a gaming PC and accept that I either will or may possibly want to utilize it to do more than a console is capable of. My budget is $1200 or more.
If 1, you could get away with a prebuilt entry level "gaming" PC. Buyer beware... prebuilts are often difficult to upgrade do some proprietary building methods and connections. I personally suggest getting educated and building one yourself (it's truly not that difficult. I taught myself as well.)
If 2, you should absolutely build your own PC.

My PC is now 2 years old and it's not even close to being technically outdated. I did not buy super high end. I spent right around $1200 (the tower ONLY). PC is solid for at least 3-5 more years I'd guess.

So basically, be realistic about your intentions and then get some solid advice based on that.

I'll take whatever advice you have. I'm pretty new to gaming in general, not to mention PC gaming. I've been really interested in getting into iRacing since that's what's making all the buzz around the motorsports world these days. (and I love Dirt racing) I needed a new laptop which made the perfect excuse to start the dive down that hole. I did some research and based on a few different sources I found that the Razer Blade 15 laptop was the best all around laptop you could get. So, as of two days ago, I bought it. (Merry Christmas) I see you don't like the prebuilt ones but like I said, I'm new to all this and wasn't prepared to start customizing stuff I don't understand yet. I also can't justify having a desktop. The only way I was able to justify what I paid for it was that I could do everything with it, including take it anywhere. I did make sure it fulfilled all the iRacing tech requirements, which it does with flying carpets. So now I'm waiting on that to arrive and I'll be getting started right away. However, I'll still be sticking around here at least until the PS5 switch is made.

I built my PC. Its hanging on my wall. see picture below.

I was wondering who had it in our community here, thought maybe we start a small league, but not alot of people have iRacing currently.

I used to run on iracing, but it got to expensive for me and I don’t think my current laptop is in show to run it at anything beyond ps1 graphics. Lol

Sounds like you're ready to get started then! As for the laptop, there isnt much to talk about when it comes to gaming. You just buy the best thing you can afford.

Yeah, GTP is primarily a console community. Theres a little PC activity. But my guess is this site is a secondary source of community.
