Arrows - Here we go again

Sounds pretty terminal. However, Tom's got to stop paying his own money into the team, or he'll end up like Alain Prost...

There was a good discussion of the problem at grandprix.com, and apparently the team can't find the money for the engines this weekend - Pollock is meant to be waiting back at the factory with a cheque - the suggestion was that the team might try and claim the change in ownership as 'force majeure' in missing the GP - from that I would guess that Arrows were told another extension to scrutineering wouldn't happen, and that another display in qualifying like the one in France would mean expulsion from the championship.

Man - this is going to make a great book one day!

Right up there with Boo Hoo - the excellent tale of the rise and fall of boo.com!

The FIA certainly said that there would be no more shenanigans regarding the qualifying sessions. I'm surprised though - it's a quick car, and they should be able to qualify it, and then 'mysteriously' stop on the first lap with some 'electrical problem'. In France they were definitely making a point, but it's surely possible to qualify the cars without threatening the team's financial position. Unless of course they don't have any engines at all...
