Though the first AC, without mod, isn't known for its campaign or game design, seems the game design/campaign is what's focused/promoted on the sequel unlike the first one's development.

I haven't failed so hard at life in a while last night. I made some progress on getting VR and my motion rig setup. I think I have the PSVR2 portion completed in Steam VR. And coincidently my PC wouldn't see my wheel so I had to get the latest Fanatec driver installed and thats working now. I think I am gonna have to make a video of how to do my own setup as my time to race is always sparce these days as I'll probably forget

I'm having the time of my life, even with the Abarth.
It's the first time in a game that I feel like I've got a real production car in my hands, with good tires that grip logically.

Tonight I did a series of laps in a Hyundai on Bathurst with the sun set, finishing at night just for the fun of it, it was magnificent.
I've tested all the cars and I've enjoyed them all except the Golf 8, which I find rather unpleasant to drive.

In short, there's huge potential here.

I watched Baldwin's video this morning and got about halfway through Gamer Muscle's video before I had to leave for work. I've probably watched about 10 videos on ACE so far and I think that I'm going to wait until the full release comes out. I don't feel there's enough in ACE that would make me want to play it a lot in it's current state.

Haha I use to casually watch his videos but there was a clear point in time where you could see ( or suspect) he decided to try to make YouTube his and just started posting videos for the sake of posting videos. Most of his videos now how little worth, all his ACE videos are riddled with worries and concerns, to which we already have the info dismissing his worries before he's even uploaded. Now he's worried freeroam may not come? He must sit up all night thinking about what he can make up.

Yep, it was rumored for quite a while, then confirmed three years ago with this video, where he did drive a Celica (road and race versions) on track.



As a coincidence, I ran a Celica as a daily driver for around three years.

After an embarrassing amount of time to dial in the motion rig, vr, ui and game settings, I finally got to drive some laps in an Emira @ Laguna! However, with my DDX wheel, I don't feel any feedback or tension at all, even when using their recommended in-game and Fanatec settings. The wheel just feels muted like I'm driving a DFP again. Anyone else experiencing this? I alsoflipped to my GT7 wheelbase settings, no difference. Is it cause it's in beta, or has someone out there figured out what to do? Otherwise the game is locked in and lots of fun.

I know AC has never been that good for this and is focused to wheels but...

What about motion steering on controller just like GT7 and Project Cars has?

CarX has it but it is poorly integrated and I can't get used to it on that.

Also these are available if motion steering is supported... May be a compromise between space and controllers

Sorry if this is considered spam but I discovered that if you bind some car functions in the game you can use them while racing like the TDU games, for example the sunroof on the Audi RS3, for the open world this is going to be very immersive.

I've not tried the Escort, but it 100% works with the RS3.

I found a workable config between Fanalab and the in-game settings finally. I may tweak them a little more later, but I'm moving onto the motion config next.

Regarding the motion, right now it seems rather slow and soft. Like when the body rolls at Laguna Seca it takes forever to snap back to center. I'm using default ACE settings for that, but there is a Motion tab in the on-track settings that I'll try playing with.


EDIT: Here's where I'm at now with the motion settings, it feels much better and more responsive. I'll continue to tweak it, but it's a nice to have thing at this point:
