Haha I'll give it a go mate!! I've heard they're a bit unbalanced, some super easy and others almost impossible.....We'll see! ;)

Yes, one or two I golded first or second lap - which is pretty disappointing, actually. But there's also quite a few in the middle ground, that took me between 10 and 30 laps. That's kind of a fun level :)

The graphs on RSR are informative no matter what system you're on - it's clear which are easy (loads of people quicker than gold) and which are hard (much bigger peak for bronze than gold). The best set of the mid-level ones might show 3 fairly even peaks.

Did the first set on the first tab. Only the FXX and M3 giving me a bit of a hard time but was able to gold them. Looking forward to that McLaren GT3 at Vallelunga again. The formula cars, I can't get to grips with :indiff:

Édit: McLaren was pretty easy...can't wrap my head around it why I seem to take a bit less time with some events. Only serious explanation I have is that I simply have improved by spending quiet a few hours behind the wheel. Even if it was mainly GTSport.

Edit2: The Huracan GT3 at Monza went like a piece of cake. Golded as well :D

Edit3: golded Silverstone and Barcelona un the McLaren GT3 as well

Bloody hell, it is running on rails today

That's because it is :P I beat it by 1.2 secs and still only 270th on RSR  (Top 50 or 100 is usually a good target for me depending on how many players are on the table, that one is busy).

Nice one! I haven't tried any of those with the McGT3, but IIRC there is one with it at another track that I tried but didn't gold yet.

Nice to see this thread with some activity!! Just goes to show that the game isn't dead!!

Remember I run every other weekly fun TTs on AC, have a go any of you that fancy it, the current one runs until Sunday:

A Niki Lauda tribute would be kind a nice ;)

I was unable before and didn't know why. Yesterday it just went boom, just like the other GT3 machinery. I even might tempt the longtail at Zandvoort and the 908 LH at Brands :mischievous:

Assetto ultimate is 20$ now in N.A. in case any still wanted try it out. On ps4 sony onl store i mean, if you have psplus. I dont know if its same in uk but if so you could try it out @John Wells, i know you dont have it, its pretty good especially some cars like some Ferraris and porsches aren't in pc2. They're pretty fun.

How strange. But then it usually takes me a few more laps to "tune into" Monza than most tracks, even though I know it pretty well.

I think I got better. It is the only explanation I have. Take for example the AMG GT3 at Zandvoort. It took me endless tries before, I think around 30 laps. Today, I tried it again and within 3 laps I did beat the gold time. Same for the Escort at BH. Beginning 2019 silver was max what I could do in that car. Yesterday I needed 5 laps and bam, gold. Pretty happy with my progress :D

Well that is some nice progress :) Are you tuning tyre pressures at all or just diving in with what it gives you?

The Escort/Brands one I did a few weeks ago and left it at barely getting gold (1:45.874) after about 15 to 20 laps. Not sure at what point I got gold - I may well have been trying to go faster for a few laps.

Tirepressure I changed indeed and I lower the cars a bit where possible. For the rest no changes at all suspension wise.

That Escort is a pretty though one since you really need to rev that 1600 engine. A fun one!

Any GT3 events you still haven't done?

I find all the more characterful older cars fun... but sadly they mostly seem to have the gold time set rather easy. At least, once you've learnt their peculiarities! The Escort seems to have been affected by a tyre model change at some point, going by the fact that older times seem to be noticably faster on RSR, not sure if target times were revised as well.

Any GT3 events you still haven't done?

Apart from those two MP4-12C ones I still haven't done 488 at Mugello, Porsche GT3 R 2016 at Barcelona, 650 S at Silverstone, and the MP4-12C one I couldn't remember (silver so far) is also Silverstone. Quite a few! Partly it's just because I don't go to them first, and partly it's because I just haven't got round to those tracks (going track by track).

I posted in pcars2 this also, any who has both games does pcars2 have tracks and cars you can feel the car skidding over lil bumps like in assetto? Cause in the demo of pcars2 the track is so smooth no feel almost of bumps. I just drove on mugello again in ac and its so fun feel to see the car skid and try regrip over lil bumps. The f2004 is crazy fast and the sound of a.i. passing fast is scary lol. Makes me wonder how the real drivers don't get blurry vision it's so fast. Well they're not staring at a screen so that helps i guess lol.

@doblocruiser - I did the MP4-12C and 650S GT3 cars at Silverstone last night. Took maybe 40 minutes to clear gold with the MP4-12C, needed to be quite precise but it's very stable. The 650S, after a couple of aborted laps because it's a bit twitchier, I did a valid lap which was losing big chunks of time in a few places... but got gold anyway, first lap!! Went on for 3 more laps and got nearly 2 seconds beyond gold, 2:03.xxx easily possible. That would make it faster than the MP4-12C in my hands, so it's silly that gold is set 1.5 secs slower!!

PC2 gets better with some decent FFB settings, I use Raw, but it still doesn't have as good a feel as AC. Worth getting but only if there's a good discount!

@Outspacer Of the Silverstone ones I found the Audi the most trickiest. Well done on your gold times

Achieved the longheck at Zandvoort with a 1:36:689 :D

Put the rear wing on 5 for that and reduced gearbox.

Ah, I missed the Audi in my search because it doesn't have GT3 in its name! I haven't tried it yet, it's probably next up then.

Nice one! Zandvoort is fun in anything, pretty much, and the langheck is great :) I've done all of the hotlaps there - the 911 GT3 Cup and Lotus 49 were the toughest for me, only gold by about a tenth.

The Lotus 49 at Zandvoort! I had a quick go and that car on this specific track, scares the hell out of me

Will try the coming days to see if I can at least bronze it :D

The Audi tends to oversteer very easily. Found it difficult to drive. Enjoy that run 👍

Finally hooked up the wheel now my girlfriend and her 5 year old are on holiday for a week.

I love how natural it feels on my G29. A world away from controller, as to be expected. Had a few spins, but that's from careless braking in the tuned Trueno. What a beautiful engine sound, too.

Bought this for hotlapping, and I can see myself enjoying it a lot more than PC2.

Really? I found understeer if anything! It seemed more stable than the 650S.
I went for slick softs, 17 psi LF and LR, 19 FR and 18 RR. A little final ratio tweak. TC off. Got 2:03.684.
Biggest problem was the time of day meaning I was totally blind going into Copse

Also did the Lotus Exos while I was there, 51.674. Super softs and 11 LF, 12 LR, 15 R, 13 RR. It's a blast on the short circuit!!

So glad I gave this another chance. It's absolutely addictive on the wheel.

To remove some of the granular judder, would you advise to turn down force feedback on the G29?

Hmmm :odd: Weather was good on console if I remember well...do we have a différence with the pc version here? Could be. Also handeling , we both experience something different

Edit: checked, sparkling clear sunny weather on ps4!

Yes, sunny... the angle of the sun at Copse made the windscreen go insanely bright from all the dirt on it! Really couldn't see much at all through it, certainly not where the apex was.

Not sure what's going on with handling, maybe I'll get a chance to try it on PS4 over the weekend. How did you find the 650S?

Having trouble with the 911 RSR at Silverstone - it can cook super-softs in a single turn!! And it's super twitchy once a bit of understeer is tuned out (tried looser diff on coast and a tiny bit of toe out), even on softs. Still a few tenths off gold.

Haven't tried that one yet. Did manage to gold the 911 Carrera RSR on Zandvoort though. Seemed impossible at the start....

Well done on the 911 Carrera RSR - that's a really fun and quick car once you get the hang of it :)

I had a quick go on PS4 and got up to 2:05.7. It's hard to get used to a distant screen with even more distant apexes again, and VR is of course cheating by not having FOV problems, I admit that!

The whiting out effect from the sun glare is far less extreme on PS4, and no real bother.

Handling felt about the same though, with setup similar to what I had on PC. I had a couple of oversteer moments but basically my fault - touching a kerb wrong or just too early on the gas. So my verdict is the same - not as nervous as the 650S to drive, for me. Both it and the 650S communcate pretty well through my T300.

So what's going on? We could do with a third opinion on this!

Also, I hadn't noticed on PC although it's the same, why are the gold/silver/bronze times only 0.2 seconds apart for this event?! Very strange!

Really fun indeed! Was easier to gold than I thought. Great sound and handeling. Car lets itself push easily.

Lotus 49 @ Zandvoort done as well

Now lets see if you're man enough to take the Abarth 500 69' around the ring.

I'm always finding that certain cars are much better the more i play the game. I thought the Merc 190E was meh when i first tried it a few years ago but gave it a go recently and its amazing. I have seen people say to lower fbb in genral on ac,
