Using the base setting they provided for my Moza wheel and it feels good 🤔

All is working fine with 1.5 but I have these comments on presentation:

If I start with a set number of credits, why bother showing me cars that I can't initially afford? For all practical purposes is the Honda S2000 is the starter car. My humble suggestion: Do as FH and offer a free pick between 3 starter cars.

As for the licenses, the presentation feels rough too. There should be an immediate onscreen indication of what score you got (instead of eyeballing the top left corner), a ghost and replay option, and a restart button instead of a continue prompt, which returns you quite abruptly to the starting line. In this case, see how GT does them.

I point this out because ACE does have the potential to put the GT/FM/FH franchises on notice and really challenge them on their turf (console). And it can be as easy or hardcore as you want, but presentation goes a long way. After all they are implementing console things: economy, car customization, licenses, curated events, jazzy music and a free roaming map!

Yeah, I agree - "stealing" the best bits from other games for your own is a good strategy. Just don't steal the FM23 UI. After 15 months, that is still abysmal.

The FM23 is so boring but is fully functional with either controller or M/KB. This ACE UI just works partially with a controller and is better navigated with M/KB, again, a no-no for a foray into the console space.

And for the life of me, is there a way to adjust the central mirrors? They are always offset of center!

Interesting video about EVO FFB.

After now playing EVO for two weeks every day and then switching back to AC1... well... he's probably right.

I got 6 minutes into this video and stopped watching. Dude has no idea how to explain anything without trying to make himself look like he's a pro race car driver. I get the impression that his house is filled with mirrors so he can constantly stare at himself and get arroused by the reflection... People stopped using the word NEWB in 2009....

iRacing has the best FFB. For the price, there's no excuse for it not to.
AC, ACC, AC-Evo, Forza, GT7 etc can all be tuned to have excellent FFB without having to use dampers. It just takes time and effort.

Fun thing is, I'm pretty sure he doesn't have a driving licence, he certainly didn't around 3 years ago.

This is an AC EVO thread and not a GamerMuscle thread. Are you able to discuss and debate his point of view without personal attacks? I don't know the guy personally and don't support him via superchat or donations. However, I will defend his efforts to provide details* and facts* for his opinions. (* Is that why you think he's trying to make himself look like a pro racer?) This video compared AC EVO's FFB to AC1 (and AMS1 and AMS2's custom FFB "Rack"). We can discuss AC EVO versus AC1 as we're in the AC forum and subforum. I don't know the reason you brought iRacing into the discussion. And no details for your rationale that iRacing has the best FFB.

But not relevant? I have a driving license, however I've never driven a race car on a track. Should I have more credibility than GamerMuscle just because I have a license? He may have a valid reason to not have a license. I have friends that live in big metropolitan cities that don't currently own cars and/or license.

Absent context it has no relevance. However, the context is rather clear, someone talking with authority, and doing so repeatedly, on how accurate FFB is in sims when compared to reality should really have a solid basis to be able to do so.

I've logged more hours in road and race cars on track and proving grounds than I can recall, I wouldn't speak with the same degree of authority that GM conjures.

Defend the guy all you want. Calling people Newbs every 2 seconds and claiming that 99% of sim racers don't know how to race because they don't have the game memorized yadda.....yadda......yaddda. I mentioned iRacing because he mentioned iRacing in the video. I completely disagree with his AC Evo "claim" about the FFB not being any good, and also "claiming" that it will never be as good as AC1. My apologies, if my clearly sarcastic "OPINION" about mirrors in his house offended you. I've been active in this thread since the beginning. No need to quiz me on where we are.

Actually agree, with you and him, as a driver part of the (apparently ignorant) majority, actually driving real cars and even going to track, interested in immersion and simulating how real driving feel, I have set and and always will, adjust FFB on my DD wheel to feel like the real thing. So for me I get excellent FFB from AC, ACC, ACE and most other tittle.
Honestly, the reason given by GM to prefer AC FFB in the video sound hilarious to me, but to each their own.
I love AC, ACC and ACE and that is all that matter to me. Feeling blessed to be part of the ignorant majority according to GM. I just hope those part of the illuminated are having as much fun with their SIM as I do. :sly:
His arrogance is astonishing. Everyone is wrong and knows nothing, he's the one that knows it all.

"..It's very likely that it will propably never have as good ffb as the original AC and why it will probably end up being rather mediocre.."

With all this speculation this guy should be a politician. Maybe they could found a new party with Kireth. 🤣 So sad.

To begin with debating on FFB is like debating on religions. Futile at best as they are all made up. "Realism" is not desirable, unless you can somehow implement g-forces outside the FFB. Immersive and informative are the key words. I think the best ffb is the one with the best adjustments, so it can be change to ones liking.

"Driving by memorization" is one of the stupidest thing I have heared in ffb conversation, as ffb does some of the actual steering / counter steering for you..😂

And he says iRacing FFB is mostly poor, but then uses his 5k irating as an argument of his understanding of ffb.

I try to avoid calling people stupid or "noobs", but the most obvious sign of incompetence is often the lack of self-criticism.

PS. I think they could implement dual-ffb - one automatic setting for immersion or few presets to choose from, and a separate "professional" ffb that you can heavily modify to your liking.

Good to see kunos keep working on ac evo and make good improvments.
It has a bright future.
I hope it will one day give us the game that combines iracing and gran turismo in one game you dont have to rent. It has the potential, if they combine and evolve from AC and ACC.

That is GM's prerogative (or strategy for YouTube engagement). People with more knowledge and experience than me can counter or disprove his authoritarian opinions.

You can call him a pompous @$$ for his usage of newbs/etc.

I look forward to reading any feedback on EVO's FFB as I have not purchased Early Access and I'm keeping an eye on development and EA users' feedback. GM specifically called out (in his opinion) "lackluster FFB" (compared to AC1) for range of grip load/state of tyres in and out of corners.

Played for about an hour. Did the first set of Academy races. The VR is extremely good for an early access game. I just realized that there's no track display in the HUD in VR. Is it visible / available in regular mode?

It is indeed his perogative, that doesn't change the fact my point was relevant.

I was very much certain of it but, nonetheless, I mourn the loss of the sandbox nature of Assetto Corsa. I hope now that it doesn't turn into an excessive grind come release.
