ZIS 101A Sport - 1939 model. Jem of the pre-war USSR roadster. Made only one, then WW2 started, car was lost. But in 2006 it was remade by some cool guys.
Original roadster based on heavy representative car ZIS 101. Donor car weight almost 2.5 tones. Roadster was ~600 kilos lighter, but even tuning engine did not made this car super fast, but super good looking.

Wow very nice looking car thanks for posting Tony. By the way can we like, get a d/l link please?

I know this is a long shot but does anyone know if there is a track for AC like Sakkito (Suzuka) from the original Project Cars? I really liked the layout so much more.

Thanks

I don't if it's what you want, but these guys have a pretty decent version of the track, with different layouts.

However, it's still a work in progress, they still have a few issues, but I've been using it for a while and works well. So far only noticed the delta timer goes crazy and doesn't really work all that well...

Sean Clarke's Ginetta G55 GT3 tries to overwrite an existing Ginetta G55 GT3 in my collection (a rather nice pCARS rip I think, judging by the dozens of liveries) when I go to install it. What do I need to rename to get the Sean Clarke version to install as a new standalone car? Is it the folder name and kn5, ensuring they are both named the same?

Just change the name of the folder and set that name in SFX if you wish to keep the same sound. I did it the other day.

Hi guys, I want to present you the track:
Varano, Autodromo Riccardo Paletti, Italy. 2350m

V1.1
Download

It's not my creation, I found it online and I tried to add and update few key things. Bear in mind this is my very first attempt to mod AC track/AI Line.
The credits go to the original creator, which is apparently unknown; maybe OfficineMeccanicheVirtuali, the guys who were working on it in 2015, with their project never published, I don't know.

Updates:
V1.1
— fixed pitboxes, now aligned with the track

V1.0
— fixed Hotlap start position on the track and corrected "AC_HOTLAP_START_0" text into the track object.
— made invisible 2 tree lines with a bad white-ish not working transparency and a background panorama not matching the far background view.
— created AI fast lane & pit lane.
— created track right and left lines with AI Line Helper.
— updated track outline using Track Previews 3.0 style.
— added background loading screen for Content Manager

AI line should be fine. I tried several different cars, from Griip to GTE-GT3 cars and they drive decently. Maybe they could drive faster, I don't know.
Tell me if there are things not working correctly about the AI line. Let's hope it's a good first attempt. :D

Enjoy this nice Italian track!

My inspiration came from this video by the Italian driver Alberto Naska!

Does anyone have any information about the Porsche in this picture?
I have never seen a Porsche 964 racer available for Assetto Corsa anywhere.

Thanks! I thought for a second that you'd updated Vairano, which is a great little track desperately in need of more pitboxes and AI.

Care to give it a go?

The 964 is mod from Facebook modding page, author of this screenshot added fog lamps and said that also done some other changes. As i know he will publish it soon. Skins are just great !

I could try to fix the AI and also the track lines if necessary, but I never added pitboxes, so I should figure it out how to do it.
I will have a look and see what I can do.

EDIT:

As you can this is weird! It's impossible to edit a track like this, at least I don't know how to do it. There's something wrong with the way the track has been saved in .kn5 format. I tried to save it into fbx format and import it again or import it in Kunos editor, but it doesn't work.

Also, reading on Drivingitalia.net forum, it seems like the layout is wrong and there are buildings and standings not present in real life, and the elevation is completely made by fantasy.

Thanks A LOT for the tip. I am looking forward to see the car with proper endurance racing setup.
Here is the tuner Porsche 964 mod on fb for everyone who is as much nuts for Porsche as I am:

It's apparently someone named "elwood". Never heard of him and the name doesn't sound familar.

@rshumi
I've written some lines in Drivingitalia.net forum. He's Italian if I'm not wrong.
I've posted my update on the same thread of "officine meccaniche virtuali", so taking back alive the thread, dated back 2015, the original creator will come foreward eventually, or the staff member will say something.

@Masscot
The only way to bring justice to Vairano, would be using Race Track Builder and use Google APIs from the editor to create is from scratch, using the real elevation changes and layout. But in this case would be better asking to a real track modder.
Google charges the calls to the Google Maps API, although they give you a 300$ free API calls per year, to use in your Google Project.

I already had two versions of this track, both almost identical but one of them had the white trees removed (like your has) and is slightly darker, so the tarmac and grass textures both look better I think (in my Rift, anyway). Both suffered from the bad hotlap start position which you fixed. I *think* your update was based on the other, 'paler' overexposed version so I'm wondering if the kn5 could be renamed and dropped into your track folder so that the hotlap start position is fixed? I've not tried it.
One thing that also confused me about Varano was actually... where to go..! It seems like there's two layouts (a short and long course) so it'd be great if both could be separate ribbons with coned-off routes - is this a possibility do you think?

The 'darker' Variano is here if you want to try it (I renamed the folder and kn5 so it doesn't clash with your track and installs separately so you can test them side-by-side).

@Masscot
are you sure you linked the correct track version?

I made a comparison, but my and your version are exactly the same.
upload_2019-1-7_19-43-29.png

As for the layouts, there are 3 versions: Circuito lungo 2350m
pista_2014_web_1000.jpg

Circuito corto 1640m
pista_1640_2014_web_1000.jpg

To add cones I guess I should also load a track with cones in 3DSimED and make a copy paste of the cones to Varano track.
Something like this.

Insane how certain apps can basically cut fps in half, even when not even active. i was mindblown how bad my fps got, deactivated some f1 apps and it was back at steady rates. i lost some fps from vanilla AC to custom shaders, but those were only like 10 fps in benchmark

I spent ages trying all three tracks and was convinced my one was slightly darker. I could be wrong though. I did park up in the same spot and study the grass textures though. I was pretty sure - and haven't even been drinking..!
Did the one I linked to still have the white ghost trees? If not then it's deffo the darker one.

@Masscot
You have also to consider 3DSimED3 loaded my version and showed those white pixels around some tree walls, even though the track was loading fine in game before editing it. I'm not a modder so maybe using 3D Studio Max is better. Also, I tried to modify that "lighten up" hill you can see from afar, but saving the .dds file. it showed the texture flipped horizontally and with a bad transparency, therefore I got rid of it using "false" as active object.

The version you linked me got the white pixels around trees only when I load the track into the editor.

This car is INCREDIBLE now. The sound, the feel - everything. It has correct ABS and TC settings for 2001 ALMS. And it even drives pretty much like they described it in a Road & Track article this past October. It's quite competitive with modern GTE's!
