I did see the C8 setup over at RD, and since your enjoying the new version of the track (which is fantastic btw) do you fancy a go with the RSS3 V6? I'm struggling to keep the car under me as I come over the crests and accelerate.

I posted a setup over on RD with these comments: "Mid-O is a lot like VIR: lots of sudden directional changes...coupled with lots of vertical jolts. So, to cope with the former, you need stiff bars and shocks and soft springs. To compensate for the latter (and for the vertical motion), you need to jack up the suspension and use more wing to keep the car from flying off the road. With any of the earlier Mid-O's, the vicious bumps would send anything lighter than a Bentley Continental soaring into the air, but Zwiss' tamed version is much easier on the suspension and the virtual pilot's derriere."

Hi all. A question: In the configuration of saved replays, what difference is there between setting it to 64hz, 32hz, 16hz etc. I've tried all the options and I don't see any difference when looking at the replays, apart from the size on disk, of course.

I spent the last couple days refreshing an old track, Halle Saale Schleife, originally made for rFactor by f1edition, converted to Assetto Corsa by Terra21, and refreshed by me. Gilles also converted this track, but this isn't his conversion.

  • many textures replaced with more detailed higher resolution equivalents (crowds, sponsor boards, a few buildings)
  • cobblestone sections are now bumpier and less grippy
  • added night lighting
  • added grassfx
  • fixed objects with duplicate faces (trees, guardrails and track bridges)
  • removed fake shadow and fake glow objects
  • made start lights work
  • added sections file
  • added collision for hay bales, fences, guardrails, walls, nearby trees, tire walls
  • fixed holes off-track that could be seen from the track
As far as new textures, some of them were really low res in the original so I recreated the sponsor banners as well as I could in higher resolutions. I also replaced the crowd with some generic crowds. It definitely still looks like an rfactor track and I highly recommend you don't look too closely at the spectators (lol), but I think it looks better at least, and I added some features so here's the link:

Enjoy!

Anybody has that Ascari KZ1-R, the non-GT3-version? Link is not working.

Lot on good stuff there, nice that someone is gathering them up. :cheers:

Oh, goody! One of my old favourites. Wasn't also a GT2 conversion? Are the spectators removable?

I'm VERY disappointed to see a certain member here posting download links to CSP preview files from patreon on a certain recently reopened website. (I know who you are ... and you know who you are. And you suck for doing this.)

Is nothing worth paying for and actually supporting in the right way?

Without Ilja's work and support from Patrons, AC would not be what is is today... but still some people are too tight to send a dollar or two his way each month. Just leaves me in despair at the state of human behaviour. :(

Trying to get the paid mod car to work on the paid mod track. Pit exit had some surface problems, so the exit fix is not as smooth as I'd like, but at least the cars stay on track.

Back up your files in case you don't care for it.

Thanks for the AI update @KevinK2 Havent used this track for quite a while - Did a few races on VRC Alabame-Barber Motorsports with new AI and discovered that my SURFACES file was missing the KEY=ROAD friction parameter. Below is what I added. Was wondering why the track was so slippery. I dont know what the default is if you are missing a KEY friction - is it like ..80?

Added at end of my surfaces file - if you have this paid track - check to see if you have this

[SURFACE_7] --- check to make sure the numbering is correct in your Surfaces file
KEY=ROAD
FRICTION=0.97
DAMPING=0
WAV=
WAV_PITCH=0
FF_EFFECT=NULL
DIRT_ADDITIVE=0
IS_VALID_TRACK=1
BLACK_FLAG_TIME=0
SIN_HEIGHT=0
SIN_LENGTH=0
IS_PITLANE=0
VIBRATION_GAIN=0
VIBRATION_LENGTH=0

Some of you may have these below: My track was the orig track from VRC
NOTE: Only tried the billboards so far and only installed the skins not the other stuff.

Billboards - gets rid of VRC signs

My version has a config file with some lights, but no Grass FX yet - if someone would like to add that to the config file.

Not so long ago a lot of tracks received additional pits. Can't remember which ones though...

Hi @Fanapryde Just pointing out to Everyone on the Free NewCastle street track they do a funny scheme for the pit stalls. What they did is stacked multiple AI-driver cars per each pit stall location. So you will see 4-5 AI cars per pit stall location to get the 48 or so cars. It all works cause there are no collisions. in the pits. But it is different than the other tracks.

OK so legions eldora dirt oval plus his dirt oval cars is mega mega fun.
Between that and finding out the darkside forum is back open i have been very busy...;)

So noticed that it had no dust, maybe a design choice as i suppose they damp these tracks down to eliminate dust...but its such fun to slig these around and see dust...

After a few laps in the sprint cars you start to catch up wiht your own dust!!
So so cool...

The dust i manged to get as a track extension config, so if anyone would like it.

Also there is an issue where the car will drop through the track at the bottom, real shame so hopefully that could be fixed....

Anyway...dust...

You are Legion for we are many.

I've fallen in the whole hole but neglected to fix it, will do.
The dust had me baffled, glad you could solved solve it.

Cheers :cheers::cheers::cheers:

Here's the first video of Thunderhill. Such a fantastic circuit! Are there any other tracks in California with this sort of aesthetic? I've got the WIP version of Chuckwalla, and obviously there is Laguna Seca, and my version of Willow Springs. I'm just really enjoying these sort of environments at the moment.

Hey @pk3r72owns i'm running into a bit of a weird issue with Thunderhill... any ideas? Only thunderhill has this problem.

I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but does anybody have the Dodge Viper GT3-R? I've been searching for it for a while now.

I am one of those people who are rather unhappy with the looks of many Gilles75 tracks. The most obvious problem is the missing 3D grass on all his tracks. The recent track updates by EASY gave me the idea to update the tracks myself by adding an extension file. I did hope that his code is similar for all his tracks, so I just have to create one ext_config.ini for all his tracks. So I tried several versions until I was finally sucessful.

So if you want to have 3D grass on a Gilles75 track you have to create a extension-subdirectory in your track-directory and put a new ext_config.ini in it with the following code:

[GRASS_FX]
GRASS_MATERIALS = GRASS?
OCCLUDING_MATERIALS = road?, rmbl?, RMBL?, ROADGREEN?
SHAPE_SIZE = 2
MASK_MAIN_THRESHOLD = -1
MASK_RED_THRESHOLD = 0
MASK_MIN_LUMINANCE = -1
MASK_MAX_LUMINANCE = 1
[LIGHTING]
LIT_MULT = 1

Of course you also can just download the included file and use this. So far I tried it on several of my 117 Gilles75-tracks. The only track, where I ran into troubles was Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez 1967 (dir: 67mex) where the grass is also growing on some spots of the tarmac and I had to delete the new file to avoid driving through a jungle. If someone have a simple solution for this problem, please give me some feedback.

Thanks @mrtomcat66 for the information for Grass FX on his tracks I Just never got around to doing configs on his tracks. I did do one track which was Oakhill track where I added grass fx, working Semaphore, and a few working lights. (That was when I was first learning config files). When I get time after other projects, i will take a look at that track that you mention(if I can find where I stored it) and see why above doesnt work.

I also may go back and re do some of the AI fast lane - side line files, since when helping him do some of them, I didnt quite do the fast lane file correctly. They all worked, but can be done better to get faster laps from AI.

take care.

Thank you
See this post though (before starting a lifelong project): https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...ral-discussion.307899/page-1515#post-13195460
:)

Yes reducing that aggression sometimes helps. The higher the number the more the ai will vary off the fast lane and side lines. I will usually try to get it working at 100/100 but it's not always possible.

There are a few bad spots on that track though- mostly the high speed corners. In my initial tests, even at 100% strength and 50% aggression I was still getting a few incidents with Kunos GT3's. Unfortunately the fast lane comes too close to the edge of the track in those places, which means redoing the whole thing, and probably slower lap times. I will keep looking at it though, I forgot how fun it is driving there.

Here you go.
Dust and cameras.

Have you noticed that the track has a void at the bottom of it in places?
AI keeps disappearing into it...

I have made a new left sideline for the Eldora track with more "security distance" to the dangerous whole in the ground. Now the AI can race safely.

As usual please remove the .txt from the file.

What is certainly my favourite McLaren livery of all time is now in AC - The McLaren F1 GTR Longtail chassis 19R (formerly known as the Presentation Car and now road legal)
A massive pain in the arse to paint and a coupla (4 actually) hours later - here it is :

soILdvF.png

Not 100% perfect (BMW decal was a mushy mess and I couldnae quite see the top decal so I had to improvise) nor Ultra HD 4K (prolly as a future update) but I've done it. Finally.

If you only fancy the livery : https://we.tl/t-W3k91e4IDr

Car (just added some plates for the sake of it) and livery : https://we.tl/t-ekleccz4iW
this amazing man

I totally agree , i also support all the creators , who work hard and keep assetto corsa alive and i hate the fact that people do the kind of things you said .

Now the question is shouldn't we support the people we want with our own donation ? because i have a feeling that this donations are just becoming payware (60 $ for that 20$ ,12$..) because i see that creators that i support just lost the fun of creating good content and just are making stuff just to make a few dollars. Maybe everything should be free and let us decide if your work is worthy of a donation or not...

No. You don't replace anything. If you have these cars already, now you will have two of the same. For example one named gt40 gt1 from before and one named gt40 gt1 s1 from me. The preset loads only my cars (and of course the default Lanzo and Maserati). This is how the preset looks:

Oh my, I understand now. I uploaded a wrong Preset. :banghead::banghead:Sorry, correcting right away.

Thank you for job! I'm just thinking about have a champ with these GT1 cars!

are you able to change the interior with a 992 one ? this has the 991.2 interior
My sub-350k tri version has NO interior, lol.
Whatever you do, don't drive my version unless you're tripping your tits off on smack. It was made as a joke using Blender's 'merge by distance' suboptimal optimising function and the algorithm seems to have launched full-scale war on the cockpit. My LOD 0 is effective a LOD 87 and will turn your PC into a NES.
