1975 South African GP for AC

Screenshot_f1c75_march_kyalami_1967_2-2-121-16-40-33.jpg

A little backstory...

I recently rewatched Rush and got an itch for mid-70's F1. One race I've always been particularly fond of is the South African GP. So I mashed them together and got this.

"So what happened in the race?"

Not much, really. The notable events included a protest by drivers asking for safer fencing following three horrific crashes in the practice sessions, as well as the debut of female F1 driver Lella Lombardi, the last female driver to score WC points in F1.

"I don't care, how do I get this in AC?!"

Here you go...

I race in the McLaren, and if you want to be competitive, I recommend raising the final gear ratio up one click and raising 5th gear up to 188mph. This way, you won't top out on the straights.

Hope you guys enjoy :)

Hey guys, just a quick question.

I've been driving the Enzo by ACR recently and it's probably my favourite road car to drive at the moment. Only problem is the sound is rubbish. I also tried out the one by AD but it just had the sound from the LaFerrari or something similar which is completely inaccurate.

Closest I've gotten with all my content seems to be the 330P4 but even that is pretty inaccurate. I was wondering if anyone here could point me in the direction of a good sound file for the car, either through a sound mod or a mod car?

Try out Jandrovi's physics rework of the Enzo. It's sublime! Here's the link: https://sharemods.com/c9kdbh6nlqac/jf_ad_ferrari_enzo.rar.html :D

Hi! To be honest, it seems quite difficult to recreate this problem.
I know this will not help you, but as a safe bet, I would save my current CSP settings as a backup, and then start ticking/unticking options and see what happens.

Found the culprit! It's the "Shot cubemap around focused car rather than camera" box (under Reflections FX) that I think I might have accidentaly checked. Thanks for helping!

I'm looking for some rally(cross) car to test the new french rallycross tracks released on RD.
What's the best one around in your opinion ? One of Rallylegends ?
I need something with good physics on dirt.

Ok so is that a scratch built model or a Forza rip?

If it’s a scratch built model, sure, go ahead. But if that’s a Forza model and you have it as “donators only”, that’s still the same as selling someone else’s intellectual property like RTM, Assettodrive or Simdream.
Even if it's scratch-made, MSF isn't good at modelling (so maybe ripped models are better), also considering ACR's physics ability, I think people can just avoid this mod as if it never existed

I think AC is not good on gravel. For playing dirt surfaces I recommend Dirt2.0 or RichardBurnsRally. I think RBR is still the best in gravel. I like the dirt physics in LFS too. (I have not experience in the new WRC 6-9 games, so i don't know these titles.)

Assetto is the same level (for me) as the rFactor1 was, when we see the gravel physics. Too slippery..

I tried some cars but it is no so good feeling, than I play RBR.

You can check these cars:
https://assettorallygrb.wixsite.com/rallygrb/blank

There is gravel cars, and rallycross cars. But in real life i think RX car tires are closer to tarmac tires than gravel. So you can try other rally cars too
The Audi S1, Clio and Megane RX is too nervous. The Xsara is a bit better, but hard to drive too.
There are some cars, which I can drive better for example Kuba LB's Ford Escort grA. This is a bit understeer, but there is a handbrake, to solve this problem :D

Are these "fast_lane_payloads.bin" and "pit_lane_payloads.bin" files in "ai" folder actually needed, or just a leftover from the AI creation process?
Sorry, cant tell ya. I have a pretty decent archive of AC-mods but not every track/car installed. :)
What ACC cars have been converted to AC? I have the R8 LMS and Lexus RC F already. Any others?
  • Audi R8 LMS Evo
  • AMG GT3 Evo 2020
  • Bentley Continental GT3 2019
  • BMW M6 GT3
  • Ferrari 488 GT3
  • Honda NSX GT3
  • Lexus RCF GT3
  • MacLaren 720S GT3
  • Porsche 911 GT3 2019
They can all be found within this thread, just use the search. :)

You can control this yourself somewhat to a degree.
In track data file go to surfaces.ini, in there is the various tracks surfaces which you can scale up or down for grip between 0 and 100
so for example loose gravel track say 0.88 or whatever to your tastes.
For me it works well.

http://site.hagn.io/assettocorsa/modding/tracks/data/surfaces-ini

Where i feel dirt is let down in AC is the tracks themselves which can be very clunky on FFB with lumps and jumps.
If you want to experience it done well check out Tyrones Mallory park rx track or his grand tour test track.

Yes it is the right one. But as i wrote earlier i don't know if the guy who has uploaded it on assettoland has the soundmod. The sound was added later in an update so maybe it is an earlier version on Assettoland

The sound is the same (R18) on Assettoland. So would you mind sharing your sound files please so that we can switch them?

Thanks. Yeah I don't expect AC to be on par with proper rallye games or BeamNG, but it's the first time I see these tracks in a game since rfactor, can't pass :)
I was just wondering if there was a car built for that specifically. Most cars on assettorallygrb are crap (the ones from rallyworld), so thanks for pointing the good ones.

Anybody has got problem (and solution :)) with sx_lemans (Circuit de la Sarthe)? In Practice and Qualifications AI drives several hundred meters and spawn at first straight?

AC can be fun in some rally cars but personally I'd buy Dirt 2.0 as it is fairly cheap and has some amazing cars and tracks. But 2 of my favourites for AC are these 2 Subarus. Not perfect but great fun and worth a play around with.

Received 62 MB Steam update for AC today....nothing mentioned in changelog though...
It blocks and encrypts all mods.:lol::lol:

Oh dw I've got Dirt 2, WRC 9, BeamNG (this one is just fantastic for rock crawling and mountain trailing), pretty much everything :)
I'm a huge fan of rallycross though, and even though Dirt 2 is great for that, I miss the old days from rfactor 1 when I could drive all the local tracks and not just the WRX ones.

I've got the DDM subaru, fantastic car. But I thought maybe some mods had specific tyres for gravel / dirt.
I'll give it a try and see how it behaves on those tracks. Same for the other tarmac rally cars I"ve got.
Thanks for the other link.
