Ibarra Update

Actual Sattelite terrain now, yes, its brown, as per the sattelite imagery. And the water is also meant to be green but didnt get to it in this update.. Beware, its a BIG texture.

Added some of the updates from a few posts back by @crist,

vaopatches that probably dont work now snce i changed the geometry?
new cameras
kept my GrassFX, its better.
The video wall is now included.
Fixed the 3 bits of terrain that were the wrong materials well.

For the skinner, I had to "fix" up the colour on the image but someone may get ti done better, anyone keen let me know, otherwise I am not uploading a huge ass file for nada.

Now look, this isn't a ****posting or a off-topic thread, its a modding discussion thread. & yet i don't know how to port cars or make one myself. I only make skins for cars, mostly itashas.

& speaking of itashas, it looks like there isn't any new ones since i checked on RaceDepartment. All i see is just skins for the RSS Formula Hybrid 2021, which i do not have.

That’s for the staff to decide, and in this case your mini-modding has caused more off topic noise than the single post you took issue with.

The revised is the same track and I have both. Revised is just a few cosmetics, billboards and added balloons. Texture mirroring issues are the same.

The balloons sure gives another touch to the tracks, but i wonder if theres tracks that has moving planes like jets? None of the tracks had planes flying above the cars...yet...if theres one.

As for the texture mirroring, yeah it looks awkward to look at it.

Thats why I did 2 options for Imola, REDU and FULL. REDU things aren't so obvious with mirroring.

I'm sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I mean, if you can (or are able to do), could be nice if you create an Imola offline version, editing track model to insert visual thing like arrows, maybe starting from the revised version that is already a good offline base and doesn’t conflict with the standard version (usable in online)

Alright so with no real skinning experience I decided I wanted the '21 DTM grid in AC..... is there a way to add the full fledged carbon texture with the texture that comes from the normal map I think to the AMG GT3 2020 extension? I've finally gotten the logos I need and stuff for the skin I'm working on but instead of being black the back 75% of the car is supposed to be bare carbon but this cars base is a metallic black paint so I can't just leave the skin blank where I want carbon like I thought I could. Also is there a way to add in the ext.ini shiny-ness (I think it's called specular mapping or something like that)

I didn’t know about a imminent conversion of ACC Imola. In this case i agree with you that is better wait for it and maybe just convert your amazing skin for it. Where I can find any news about this conversion?

i can port the primera sound to the 4-pot runners as a "generic" sound

I'm not sure "everyone" is. I have both and really like them both.

I think we would need some kind of an online engine-sound library with some kind of a system that helps finding the most suitable engine sounds for different types of engines from different eras. There are lots of good sounds in AC but finding the most accurate one can be hard. I've been thinking about doing something like this myself but clearly I ain't a sound specialist enough for such task. Although I think sounds are crucial factor in sim racing, not as important as physics but at least as important as visuals...

PS. Again, how about that Mustang that was deleted for RD yesterday? Don't know if it's any good but I've got a thing for 80s and 90s ugly Mustang and would like to try it...

The issue that you mentioned is the reason I don't have it installed. I know it doesn't show in game, but I'm using my own previews for all cars and in this case I can't make them because of that. And the provided previews are also bad: double numberplates with or without numbers on it... looks pretty sloppy imo...

It's not sloppy, it's an CSP/CM issue. The mod gives you the option for different numberplates which you can use in game and hide the others via the "hide" option. CM preview doesn't use this utility. The mod itself is good(and we'll probably get an update soon). It is easier to use and instal than the Extention version, and a lot easier to make liviers for.

Can't you just hide the extra number plates in the showroom and create previews with whatever preview template you use in the showroom itself? And then use the images that you have made as previews in the individual skin folders ?

Also this really seems like a non-issue when you compare it with the remaining package but I guess people are different and I don't have any issues with that.

that would only leave us with the mondeo v6 to find if this sound mod will be public; also, i think this mod is in dire need of a physics overhaul as it's a port from Race 07 by the looks of it

You probably won't find any news on it yet. I've had it on good authority from some Modder mates it's on the job list and been started on.

Been lapping on both today and they're very similar indeed. Nothing drastically improved in the ACC version. I like the tyre marks on the kerbs but that's about it.
