guys, some of you have this car ... you need to share it for personal use ... I can't play online

they arent a month old in GTS :D
maybe someday they come, but i would bet on it, there are already so many formula cars
There is a super formula in AC, but I don’t know the author. Sorry, I wanted to answer another.

I noticed that you talked about GT Sport mods to AC, is there any Super Formula from GT Sport to AC?
There is a super formula in AC, but I don’t know the author. It is probably not from GTSport, but not bad.

yes, that is just a mod, not a real vehicle. he means Super Formula, this mod is called Super Gp.
i dont blame you tho, very confusing with all the Supers here and there

@Showmebest66
For you and the guys of AD is it ok if I add the wipers and the animation to the 3D model of the Aston?
In common, updates for rain with some extensions planned for all available range. It's only can seems to be not consuming, but in fact taking quite lot of time.
P.S. And One-77 going with wipers, but they not active. As well, there is not usual system of their work. Both wipers synchronously rotating from center of window to two different sides.

Are these things, part of the "body_plastic", the wipers?

I'm don't know who you are and what/where you got version you are using (how it's modified, broken or something).
All answers the same.
(will attach one screen)
Nothing personal, but let me ask you do not disturb anymore in this way and for such reasons.

Thanks again for the Clio CUP a few pages back. I've been having a blast driving that around ACU's Miami and Kunos' Nordschleife. Already put 316 km on it according to CM.

Quick question you guys....is the ACFL 2006 F1 mod any good? I have their 1994 F1 mod and it seems pretty good , but I don't know anything about this modding group , or if any of their other content is worth it?

Intellectual property rights is a fascinating subject! The current widespread modding activity of AC and CM (Content Manager) is VERY similar to MFS (Microsoft Flight Simulator) and FSM (Flight Sim Manager) that occurred 40 years ago. A HUGE Flight Sim modding community grew and eventually the website AVSIM and AVSIM LIBRARY by Tom Allensworth became the single GO TO resource for Mods. I'm not sure how Tom was able work thru the Intellectual Property Rights issues, and the site was victim of hacker take-downs, but even today they still maintain hundreds of thousands of FS9/FSX Flight Sim Mods, Modding Tools, etc . If we are lucky, the SAME evolution will occur with AC, and another visionary like Tom (x4fab?) will create a dedicated Library Site for exchanging, collaborating with our AC Mod Files...........

Well, I have no idea how converting a car or a track from another sim has anything to do with intellectual propriety ?!? ...the so called "modding tools" to do that, are actual "hacking tools"
I will not go further with that argument, because it makes no sense... call a lawyer and ask him about that all ;)
Even if you build a model from scratch you have a branding problem if you want to call it BMW xxx or Ford xxx or you name it.
A simple skin where you use a logo or a brand without prior agreement with the brand holder has the same problems.

And don't get me wrong, I have nothing against modding ! I've done it long enough to know something about...
probably we didn't understand each other... nor we have to.

Have a nice day.

I also have not seen a single one of the Montreal conversions with halfway decent physics so you would have to build your own if you download the car.

I have a half finished physics project on that car, I'd be happy to finalize on a realistic base car ;-)
I'm wondering if you'd be willing to share your physics files with me via PM? I'm curious to try your changes in-game. 👍

Thanks for the help. The GTV6 is available on several sites and theones I have downloaded are quite iffy but usable as a base to build physics and fill a grid.
I am actually looking for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Zagato with the original round tail that can be seen in the video - THAT car I have never seen in a mod so far on any platform (it is a LOVELY car). The 3D model in the video also looks much better than coming from a low poly GTR2 mod. My first reaction was that this may be a model from GT6 perhaps? Is the SZ available in Gran Turismo?

I would love to get my hands on that mod to build myself proper physics for the car but I am very reluctant to pay any money to Sim Dream as of their history with stealing mods, repackaging and selling them as their own. I would love to learn where the model is coming from to rather get it from teh source as I have to build physics anyway.

I have downloaded several versions of the Alfa Romeo Montreal mod in the past with the intention of building proper physics but I gave up on it a long time ago as all mods of the car available that I got were all over the place in scaling so realistic wheelbase, track and actually used wheel and tire sizes of the real car would simply not fit and I am a stickler for realism.

I also have not seen a single one of the Montreal conversions with halfway decent physics so you would have to build your own if you download the car.
The model (apart from wrong size issues) is rather nice though. I have not seen a single one though with proper working headlight cover animations, so those would have to be built as well?

Maybe @delpinsky does have some Alfa Romeo blood and may be interested to fix size issues with the Alfa Romeo Montreal and create head light cover and wiper animations? I have a half finished physics project on that car, I'd be happy to finalize on a realistic base car ;-)
What headlight cover?!

upload_2019-4-25_3-44-51.png

Ah, you probably refer to the headlights cover animation?

I can create the wiper animation and the LODs, by the way.
The headlight cover animation, well...there's a black grid around the headlights and I think the 3D model misses all the parts that create the animation...
This is my version of the car: alfa_romeo_montreal_1971, dated back November or December 2018.

Is your version based off the Velos Mods one? I love that yours has the correct factory colours.

I'd be very grateful for a wiper animation and proper LODs. The headlamp cover animation would be awesome to have, but the lack of it doesn't bother me too much and would rather have door animations instead to be honest.

Just asking: Why do people car about door animations? Wipers are important for future developments re: rain that have a big effect on gameplay.

But doors? Seems like a waste of time/effort given that every race starts with the doors shut. All you can do with those is open and close them in Content Manager. Does anyone sit around and do that?

I'd rather not as it does not reflect a quality I am satisfied with as of so big workarounds because the basic mod was so off in dimensions.
If I would have a better base mod to work with I'd love to finalize the physics and be happy to share It openly.

What headlight cover?!

Yes, the headlight covers do swing down on the Alfa Romeo Montreal.
I think It would be very nice if that animation could be created (even lacking the modeled levers and links that actually move them) as It just looks so much better to have both states of the car as It was designed rather than have the covers stuck closed in a broken state :-(

Would you mind if I have a look into your mod you linked above re. physics?

I too think that door animations are the least important but they do have a function outside of the showroom as the camera is walking you towards the car when It is parked with open doors on the grid before a race session.

I think it adds a really nice touch when functional but I understand oftentimes It takes much, much more effort to animate them as door surrounds needs to be properly modeled and textures for them to be viable. With many mods that is just not the case.

I like them and love mods where the effort has been made (also properly separated engine covers, bumpers, hoods, etc, as these can be used now with the shader patch to simulate deformed body parts if the underlying chassis is properly modeled (engine bay, luggage compartment, etc).
If those are not properly separated and the underlying components not existing than these deformations just are not working well.

So I made some colour skins for that assettodrive One-77 that I tried my best at replicating the colours the Gran Turismo 6 car has, which from what I understand are official colours.

Their 2006 is bloody awful. Odd physics and sound, not to mention lots of errors it has.
On ACFL's Formula E mod, you will notice the steering wheel is from Race Sim Studio which one of the guys from VRC pointed out.
And stolen soundmods from IMrIMike.

I hope that those don't cause lag. The SSLR in CM Showroom already takes 80 percent of my frames. It's tolerable for a Showroom where one trades performance for graphical fidelity, but for racing Itself I don't think the extreme performance hit is worth it.

Glad to see the wind and water getting some love that'll definitely improve track ambiance. But my hope is it can be implemented in a way so existing tracks can make use of it and won't need updates.

This looks VERY tasty!

I am very disappointed in this mod, while it looked promising. :boggled:
Managed to DL it on 'another' forum, mainly because I have a soft spot for the Giulia TI and wanted to try it.

It looks bad, it drives bad...for a paid mod it is sub par.
The same 'liveries' (colours) on each car, not really 'shiny' more like a semi gloss, the chrome parts don't exactly shout 'chrome' either...
No working wipers, no animated gear lever, no dash lights.

Tried the whole set. The only one that has an acceptable feel is the Giulietta SZ.
I kept it but I think it won't last long in my collection.
All in all pretty bad imo, in urgent need for a AC car reboot...

@Showmebest66 I've always been a fan of AD cars (I think I said something to that effect recently here on GTP), especially the cockpit modelling and shader work. Your cars are always of a consistently high quality. Where do the base models normally come from, and do you do much 3D modelling work yourselves or it is mainly applying the physics and shaders to pre-existing models?

Edit: ooh, I see you've recently released the Porsche 928 GTS, a car that's been a glaring omission in quality format from AC mods. Looks great!
