Bit off topic i know but anyone else here had issues with the new CM being flagged as malware?

I renamed CM exe to assettocorsa.exe and replaced the original one with this one, to start CM instead of the old menus.
It worked fine yesterday, but today Kaspersky Security shut down my Content Manager session, and removed that executable and showed me this:

EDIT: As solution I added exclusions in Kaspersky to trust this exe completely (figure it's a false positive anyway).
Just mentioning it here in case others have similar issues.

Maybe try create cm.exe shortcut then rename the shortcut to assettocorsa
 
Good morning gentlemen I ask a question that may seem stupid, how come no one has ever thought of adding mechanics, photographers, marshals to the various tracks around AC ? It would be very nice to see a pit lane full as in reality. or maybe this is not feasible because it would load too much weight the graphics of the game.
 
FYI for the floor panel issue in the 917 of Legion , a solution was posted on their site!

"For shadows coming through the floor on this and I suspect other cars, a workaround is to disable 'Fake Shadows FX' in CSP settings."
Thanks for the heads-up, this solved a puzzling issue a few of us were experiencing while beta testing an upcoming Caterham SP/300.R

Activated "extended physics" in Content Manager is not supported atm. This is currently causing problems with the brakes.

hello everyone, just ask to the more experienced modders of the forum if someone could work for a working Ai and correct the track limits for Baku 2022.. unfortunately I don't have the skills to do it. but I think the community would benefit a lot ..thanks a lot

you are one of the reasons, he won't release the update of the AMG. The cars you mentioned are leaked and not public. They don't belong in the hands of users. The mods were done privately for a league and people leaked them everywhere. Of course, many users won't know that that's true, but the chance that an update for the AMG will come is unlikely. Users are dming Bonny for his great work or problems and every time he knows they are leaked.

Question for the VR users, I want to get a leap motion controller, disable the arms of the ac driver model and use handtracking to show my real arms/hands (and a carefully) lined up simrig to the virtual car to boost immersion even further. The shifting animation would also greatly benefit from this, because its not animated anymore. But I need "something" to display my controllers while in AC. It's the same problem for vr controllers, they disapear when in the game. But show up when pressing the systembutton (steam dashboard). Does such a mod exist? To display controllers (and therefore "leap hands") in the game? I don't need to control anything with these virtual hands, just for them to show up.

Dude! I'm going to make this work! Halfway there. :D
 
Can you please explain in detail, how you did that? Did you just copy an ai_hints.ini into a new track skin folder?

For testing I tried that with a speed limit (MAXSPEED) for an entire track, but that didnt work at all. If this is really working, it can solve many probelms in AC!
  • using the ai app I put in mega many laps until I got a smooth line.
  • then followed the cars as ai (replay or live), made notes on where it went wrong with various cars.
  • add to ai_hints.ini as required from notes. (Surprisingly it uses only one hint so far, on the downhill carousel. Simple track I suppose.)
  • throw that hint file and any others into skin folders.
  • done. Repeat with other car sets/series.

I think the key is not necessarily playing safe and driving the middle of the road when creating the ai. And use a car that has good mechanical grip and don't try to kill it. Nice and smooth I'm-lapping-all-day-here does it. For some reason the driving style of the creating car transfers to other car types quite well. I guess it's the quality/shape of the spline comes better from a car with good physics cuz it makes you drive better.

And, the original ai may have been lousy so maybe the improvement was less significant.

But there's something there, and I'm on it. I have complex hint files galore for various car types at Fonteny (like CanAm/Interseries) so that's next. (After the Peugeot is finished!)

(The car is Mac10's 914-6gt, btw. I find the extra power of that 330hp engine combined with its physics is excellent for this purpose. It tests you. I really like the 200hp version for regular racing though)

I spoke too soon. It fixed the shadows clipping through the floor pan for the Caterham, but at the expense of shadows beneath other cars flickering on and off during races.
So... reactivated as the lesser of two evils.

not his fault he got into those cars. and the amg in the first place was a public release afaik
 
Thank you so much Jeroen! At this moment I haven't found differences yet on the net on the Andretti skin, so I decided to simply copy the 1978 livery on the 1977 one. :) It's not a so "clean" work, I know, but I really doesn't find any differences on real photos.
But as ever I'm ready to receive advice and tips on this. ;)

Does anyone have any idea what might be the reason I don't get that cool side on small preview of the car in CSP's new Pit menu?

One of my favourite things about the last shader patch was this addition and it showed up on the car status drop box where now is only a empty blank space where it used to be as on screenshot below. It would change depending on the car skin you chose and when you selected tyre options it showed the wheels unique to your car.

I noticed it was gone after changing to yesterdays patch, I reverted back to previous but still missing so unsure if it has been like this for sometime or I changed something in past. I looked through many CSP settings but can't find anything to reactivate it again even when reverting to default on the gui options etc.

Anyone else missing this? or even a confirmation some others still have it would be great?

Thanks in advance and i hope it is clear what my issue is as it's a bit hard to explain this one.

I have a kind of 'foggy' view even in broad daylight. Has anybody else this problem?
I think I saw a comment on the patreon about this. He called it strange artifacts. Lookup the Tweaks VR Mode settings in csp, not sure about the exact name, but almost at the bottom of the menu. I think they activated some of the new options like stereo passhrough, might be the reason. Your best bet would be one of those checkboxes in that specific menu. Especially when it says "new" and is checked.
