did i write mipmaps, oops, I meant normal maps. I thought it was MM not NM, gotta get my eyes checked.
Anyway, I'm trying to get a plate that looks like this:

But I'm getting this:

With my ignorant smartass method by copying and renaming the plate_D.dds into plate_NM, I'm getting this:

But this last screen is probably not useful information.
I guess I'll be happy enough with a plate that has the right look but completely flat.
First of all, you need to create an empty normal map and place it as the plate nm, you can even use the flat_nm texture found on any kunos car.
The weird shading in the middle of the plate in the last pic is actually caused by some config lines, you should find the car's ext config and delete the lines related to license plates. They should look somewhat like these:

[INCLUDE: common/materials_license_plate.ini]
[Material_LicensePlate_Europe]
Materials = EXT_PLATE`

BTW here is the car that we're working on, just in case anyone is wondering what all the fuss is about between Lorelord and me.

It's a "from scratch" build of the Alfa Romeo SE 048SP; very open to any contributions of skills, information around the car, the Lancia LC2 it was based on, the engines etc.. information is hard to come by as, presumably, is the case for most of the mods on here. But who knows, maybe one of you fine people has the key to some more knowledge about it.

Thanks so much for this project guys, this car is miss so much in AC and it's really sad and disapointing that has never raced. I really hope that now that the partneship with Sauber will end, Alfa Romeo will join LMH/LMDh program (I mean, Alfa Romeo has made history at Le Mans in the first years so it could be great to see them back after many many years). Just a personal thought that now that I see this car in AC came in my mind. Also it will be great to see a good 33/2 Daytona too...

Very glad to hear you share our enthusiasm for the 048, thanks for the kind words.

The Tipo Daytona is such a pretty car - I love the livery too! I'm surprised there is no mod, I haven't looked but would have thought a car like that would be modelled already, so maybe a more easy task of doing a conversion...

If there isn't one, I would be interested in modelling it too. Who knows how long it will be before that happens though, this is a hobby after all - but with more experience comes speed.

Sadly, now that Audi is taking over Alfa's F1 team they (Audi) have dropped the LMDH programme.

Maybe, there will be a swap? We can dream...

You need to create a NM from the '458 Italia' DDS in Photoshop (or equivalent), your first photo is using a NM from a totally different plate.
If you want the plate completely flat with no raised lettering effect, just edit the NM so it's completely blank.

Nifty little website for easily making normal maps, forgot where I found it but works well for custom plates like this:

It's already answered yesterday
Thank You and i'm sorry. I did not realize this was answered previously, thank you

At some point, focusing on the LMP900 and LMP1's. As of now. Also finding good data is usually much harder than the former.
There are a few cars I got to see race on speedvision as a kid which I think I could suggest.
2002 Bentley EXP Speed 8 (my personal favorite)
2001 Panoz LMP07 ( the car got abandoned since it was no match for the Audi's)
2000 Panoz LMP-1 Roadster S
2001 Ascari A410
2003 Lister LMP
2002 Norma M2000
2001 Chrysler Oreca LMP
2001 Cadillac Northstar LMP 01
A few good cars I still have memories of seeing.

Hi, can someone help me please?

What do I have to do to make the helmet_2019 file work?

LMP-1 Roadster S - Made by VRC
A410 - Made
LMP - nope
M2000 - nope
Oreca LMP (dallara or reynard) - both made
NorthStar 2001 - Made

nice, can't wait. also, for the previous released minipack, you should fix the gearing. the brabham for example even with lowest final gear ratio struggles in 5th gear
He's already informed about that gear ratio thing on the Brabham.
So, all good.

Hi gents,
got a problem trying to make lods. I have the latest version from simplygon, csp 0.1.73 (recommanded version). I get always this warning: "file in appdata/........./(my mod) simplygon.fbx is missing.
Somebody has a clue?
Thx in advance, Mike.

FYI: there's a new mod available for free on SDW ,
(I'm not affiliated with this group, just a find i wanted to share with you guys because i gave it +4 stars)

it's for a Hyundai i20n , and it's really good imho (good sound, handling, not too heavy on GPU, good gear and speed indication, working wipers, overall very immersive experience)
My only beef with it (as with alot of mods) is that the brakelights are barely visible when PostProcessing. switched off.
(that and the gear anim is a bit wrong, gear nob sticking out of your hand when shifting)
View attachment 1187350View attachment 1187351 (and 5 more skins)
It's really good but it's missing the skin with the (N) at the side doors. Anyone knows where to get it?
