Hello boys, long time no see.
I made a change in hardware and switched from 7 to win10, made a bridge for that, pretty much everything worked out great but not AC nor CM, unfortunatly (obviously?). So, a full uninstall and reinstall is needed, i'm afraid.
And because I have absolutly no intention of downloading back 1600 cars and 525 tracks again, What would you say are the main folders I must keep ? Content, extension ? What else ? I want to say basically everything that the desinstall will not touch but I would not face the same trouble again (missing dll...)

No need for that, just make steam redownload assetto corsa, point the location of the download to the steam folder that contains assetto corsa, and when it'll begin it will check already installed file

if there's anything missing it will redownload the files, but then it should work

Already did an integrity check and pilots update (in case of). No changes. Tried to delete the appdata folder of CM in case of, nothing.

Edit : SOLVED. Yup, the cleaner the better.

Renault Fuego and Renault 18, Argentine touring cars, FWD 1980's.
Possibly a waste of bandwidth to some so just resist downloading it.
Released as 0.6 mod from rfactor.
Doubt its exactly like driving it but its fun and skins are great.
Full grid looks retro cool.
Cars in real life shared the same platform and the race cars were the same bar the body so both are the same underneath, what it means is both can race together fairly.
Feel free to add anything you think it needs.View attachment 1191675

I really don't know, I'm not a big fan of Drift so I didn't download them. I leave the link to the page (Japanese). You can translate it with Chrome. Just type Chaser in the page search engine.

Some skins are messed up, have you updated them on V1.0? I guess they are not compatible with 1.5?

Edit: I should better read... so will they be updated in the future then?

Yep sharemods lunched itself few days ago. I've had few PM's about this and I've pointed them towards this site.
I know he is not popular here anymore, but this is the best versions with the cosmetic fixes done by EASY.
IMO I like that he adds some cosmetic flourishes to my stuff.

Ok, a premise first: this might be on or off-topic for AC until it comes out, since this new tool made by Nvidia inside their Omniverse program called 'RTX Remix' claims so far to only specifically work with select DirectX 8 and 9 games for some reason. Therefore leaving out many DX10/11 games in the process, including AC (and Competizione potentially too).

Anyways, this tool claims to apply ray tracing and upscale assets/textures via AI, while also applying some of their other technologies such as the latest DLSS 3, although when it comes to assets, from what I saw I don't think the AI of that tool would magically improve low poly assets into high ones for you, as it would surely still force you to replace them all manually with better looking ones you made via USD files you can add inside a game very conveniently. It may also seem to rip those assets and place them in Omniverse similarly to Ninja Ripper and Intel Graphics Performance Analyzer. So it might as well end up becoming a combination of Nvidia's Freestyle with game assets ripping capabilities. I'm not really so sure and skeptical over it towards classic and legendary sim racers such as GTR2 and rFactor on how (if at all) can remaster them with upscaled textures and ray tracing applied, let alone just universally apply ray tracing to any Direct3D game up to 8th version.

For all of those who are curious and want to learn more, here's the article.

Yeah all the skins are reworked on V1.0 cars, i have tested the 1.50, but i stay on V1.0, because i have reworked the .kn5 of my cars ( shaders, DRS leds, KERS lights, carbon textures etc ) and i don't want to do it again with updated cars... some of this skins are compatible with the 1.50 maybe others don't... so i recommend to use this skins with 1.0 cars

When someone has some time, can you give these test vao's for Monza a try. They are for the stock Monza track. I'm not sure they would work with @Pyyer F1 extensions at the moment. What they are supposed to accomplish is to reduce the pure black look of the tree shadows that the CSP vao creates.

Monza VAO test

I think they have some good and some bad results. The overall black shadows are reduced, but I think some trees now lack depth without some of the shadowing. The files go directly into the Monza track folder and will need renamed to try each one. Just remove the number at the start of each name so it reads monza.vao-patch. The lower the number, the darker the shadows are. Let me know what you think and if you like a particular one or if you think I need to go lighter or darker on the shadowing. Once you are done testing, just delete the patch file and you will go back to the stock CSP version.

Thanks for any feedback. You can hit me up on a PM so as not the clutter up the forum.

Could you be a bit more specific about what is happening exactly. I know there are some sticky barriers, but there's no fix atm...
For example if I'm going downhill to the pub and hit the barrier, no matter if left or right, the car flips over and accelerates to 500km/h and makes 7000km on the odometer.

Fixes on the way (also cheering spectators and water surface)...
Edit: tried a couple of cars at different speeds, hitting the black & white armco's. At lower speed the cars tend to jump on and slide over the armcos, while at high speeds they get launched. But never did I see these excessive speeds or added mileage...

I'll take the 40 please. I didn't really notice any lack of depth and the shadows are much improved. Of course I may be using a different PPF (ClimaxF3) and I'm in HDR... And I see a few nice trees up front too. Good job.

just to report the amazing job done on kunos monza by CRformula guys:

download in video description (2022 track) and:

HERE

in my opinion it is in several things even more accurate than pyyer's one

please look also at this video to understand each improvement:

to me, this extension with this skin is the best looking monza 2022 atm:

https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/rich-summer-skin-for-kunos-monza.52185/

Very impressive accuracy and the video is very well edited, but unfortunately they've borked most of the glass (and a few trees, weirdly) by making it holographic in VR, and introduced some z-fighting to some of the adboards.

I am improving on my Touroul #8 skin from the 1994 Paris 1000 km 1994 race. I have had some exchange with the Raymond Touroul Facebook Group where I was even able to write with Jean-Pierre Tardiff, one of the drivers.

I hope the skin will be ready to release soon.

The real car had yellow cups on the headlights. Is it possible to recreate them without changing the material (would affect all skins)?
Thanx for your help.

On the photo it is visible, that the Touroul car was equiped with Cup rims. The shokeus model has the BBS rims. Is it possible to change the rims and how could I do it.

Thanx
Daniel
