Hi there guys!! Last night I was helping my brother to install CM and some mods from FSR's Patreon. As me and other guys are using these mods without reporting any problem, my bro's cars looked like this in track:

We have updated cars, skins and CSP, but this still appears.

Why is he experiencing this problem?
What should we do?

Hi Forum. I would like to share my little wip mod for generic F1 lollipops!
I know...lollipops is out of time today for F1 but always present in AC...so why not customize?
There is also a plan for other F1 seasons or other series.
For now a generics (fictionals?) lollipops for 2023 F1 team.

This tiny track was the Grand Prix of Finland in the 50s and 60s. "Eltsu" was even hosting two Formula 1 GPs in 1952 and 1953. It has a nice flow and is great to drive with slow and small cars. Sergio gave me the permission to update his old track. Thanks!

While we're at it, it would also be nice to have a "random time" option that's random day or random night.

And random wind direction would be good too, so flags aren't always flapping in the same direction unless you adjust it manually.

Hi guys, I have a problem with the latest CSP 1.80. When I try to take a picture from game, except for some filters, I obtain overexposed images.

I've tried both the CSP photo tool and the AC tool to take pictures, but the result is the same. That's a CPS bug, or some new settings that I have to check? I never had this problem with the previous version.

Did your bro unpack and edit the data.acd file? I’ve seen this happen when the data file is encrypted.

Just reinstall the car and don't unpack and/or edit the data folder. The car is encrypted - no nothing you can do about it, just take it or leave it.

Thanks for this, i'll have a fiddle and i'm imagining its going to be pretty simple to add a helmet on these guys, they need them poor souls, imagine finding identical humans to work your pits and finding out they are ugly as hell....

Its a long verticle line that appears eminating from the roof of the car.
It happens on all tracks with any skin on the car. And only on this car.
It only started when i upgraded Content Manager and CSP 0.1.80 rev 218

I have no such issue, but I have chosen to stay on prev 150.
Your last sentence talks for itself I think... ;)

BTW, when the car is in neutral, the side mirrors are retracted, and the dash display only shows a logo.
When you shift into gear, the mirrors fold out, and the display shows the gauges.

Also, this car isn't optimized. You'll likely experience lower FPS when using it, especially in VR.

For some mods I did it, it also happen. But not this time, I'm using the original mods FSR mods with the RD skins from BTCC 2020-2023. As I said, me and other people are using these same Patreon links to download it, so I figure out the problem will come from another part.

With TreeFX turned on, my frame rate craters in VR. I can edit the ext_config.ini, and comment out the TreeFX lines, but then there are no trees at all when the track is loaded. Could you keep the standard trees, have a config with TreeFX that hides the other trees, and provide an optional "no TreeFX" config, without the standard trees hidden?

[EDIT] Okay, I take some of that back. For this track mod, apparently it's more than the TreeFX that's causing problems. Even without the trees, I'm still getting poor performance, or low FPS in VR. Apparently this track needs some optimization to reduce the load. I'm have an RTX 3070 Ti, and I can max the Render Resolution and maintain 72FPS or higher on most tracks.

[EDIT EDIT] Before coming to a conclusion, I should remember to test everything, including using different cars. I have discovered that I can maintain a pretty good frame rate (with some slight drops) with cars that are well optimized. I first tested this track with a car mod that apparently was poorly optimized. So my final verdict, TreeFX for this track is okay, and the trees used do render well and look good (mostly). I think more variation in appearance and hues would look better overall--as long as it doesn't affect performance.

My current opinion on TreeFX... for those that want to add them to your tracks...

While I think TreeFX is a cool and exciting addition to Assetto Corsa, remember to not go overboard when adding them. If you do add them, limit their use--maybe only add them very close to the track, and use the standard trees behind them. Also, provide an option for a user to override them and use the regular tri (or quad) trees. A separate no TreeFX ext_config.ini could be set up as an option? Could TreeFX be managed with a skin?

I am using VR with a pretty good GPU. I've set it up so the render resolution is at the highest setting, while I settled on 72Hz. This produces the best experience for me in VR at this time. I've tested a few tracks that had TreeFX on only portions of the track. When I was on a part of the track without any trees in view, I could easily maintain 72 FPS. However, when I turned to face a cluster of TreeFX trees, my FPS cratered.

Again, TreeFX is a cool advancement, and all the other modeled trackside elements are excellent in most mods... but for me, trees are only in my periphery. A detailed road surface, track edges, and kerb detail are probably the most important thing in a track mod, because that's what I'm looking at most of the time.
And if I may add:
  • the RIGHT trees that belong to the track and region are also important,
  • Size does matter too: I've seen 3D trees that are about three times higher than they should be, useless, on some tracks it looks like you are driving in a jungle. That while several treeFX mods cut my FPS value (triple screens) almost in half...also useless,
  • and please, don't place trees where there are none IRL...

Go to Settings > Custom Shaders Patch > Graphic Adjustments.
Make sure "New shader for human skin" is NOT active. That should fix the problem.

Werewolves transforms under the moon. Lollipop guys transform under the sun; when they are under the shadow, they aren't so ugly. I discovered it a few days ago, playing with the settings of the camera to take some screenshots. When the light falls in certain direction, Lollipopman becomes the stuntman who doubles Freddy Krueger in danger action scenes.

Maybe Ilja will include a wide brimmed hat option in the next CSP version... 🤔
