The jumps in that area are exaggerated, BUT, look at this:

Look at the mesh, there is bumpy there, I do not know if with the elevation data the car will jump there, it is probably, I will try to smooth it
I have no doubt that the track isn't smooth and I have no issues with bumpy tracks either, but too much is too much 😇
 
I'd would suggest that it's 'good feng shui' to wait with excited anticipation for the (or any) next big CSP update... but not allow that anticipation to transform itself into expectation, outrage or demand.

No matter how much you WANT the next batch of fixes and goodies to appear, if you start getting grumpy about it, then just go back to vanilla AC for a moment to remind yourself how much you've already got from Ilja's work. :cheers:
Just checked patreon and he has 'lost' just over a thousand supporters on there over the last day or so.
Like anything in business, the best vote is with your feet.
If he woke up to only 5k a month you bet we'd see a new rain fx CSP patch within days.
 
Hi everyone, I want to ask a quetion about skinmaking.

I did every step on tutorials accordingly and it works but (I guess) the file size of the .dds files are way bigger than the ones within the car.

I saved them as the same format (8.8.8 I think, couldn't remember now - the one with alpha channel) but mine is 8-10MB while others are 2-3MB.

I use Photoshop CS6... could it be the reason of it or did I miss sometihng along the way?

Because every car I made a skin for it, the game struggles hard while playing it.

I agree 😁 , but the jump in the second corner that does not let you do correctly because there is a jump in the middle, this will disappear, because in reality that jump is not there

by the way, keep this well in your pocket, it is in Spanish but you can activate the subtitle, it is a master lesson on how to do the circuit, from a driver who competed there in reality.

Talk about the bush and how you had to literally eat it to draw the correct line

 
Sorry for asking. Does anyone have a link for the latest version of Paul Ricard with all of the updates added here?
I got a bit lost with all of the separate improvements and add-ons and the drama of other people uploading it elsewhere.
The original link seems to be down now and the search function brings up several different results with several different versions, in some bizarre random order.

SAN JOSE GRAND PRIX 2006

This track was used for the seasons of Champ Car (years 2000) but it has not I believe yet been converted for Assetto Corsa.

  • New EXT_CONFIG w/ RainFX, LightFX, GrassFX
  • New VAO
  • CM Skin for a wall texture which has grass designed on (and which were upside down in some mapping having grass in the air)
  • Edited TV Cams

@alperen141 Not sure if this applies to everyone but, as an amateur just for fun skinmaker, if i have an AO layer i use NVidia DDS plugin with PS CC and this for the main skin 'DXT1 RGB 4 bpp | no alpha' and for anything with a coloured alpha channel such as a banner logo sheet etc i use this 'DXT5 ARGB 8 bpp | interpolated alpha' - Once again im sure there is a better way to do this but remember, the alpha channel will double the size of your main skin file (try saving one without and comparing sizes) - Its okay with say 10 cars but once you go above that it will tax a lower end PC/CPU especially (Can someone with track expertise please jump in) if the track isnt fully optimised. Also if doing a matt map to reduce shininess just do a 64x64 pixel version which helps reduce the size of files in the car skin (i use black for full matte or dark mauve for semi matt and none for a full gloss see attached samples the Toyota SFR is without a matt map) My opinion is, as long as they look reasonable on track and dont cost FPS then a lower quality model is okay but if you want it for arty screenshots etc then you may need to increase the quality - Hope that helps

a quick and dirty could be done... today.
since this is a wee little track... I will do a basic conversion with a few pits and AI etc if others will fill it in after I post up a working beta.

Drmaboul02 - Charade SPC2018 v1.3 by Drmaboul02

I know it already exist an update by @slider666, but as sometimes happens by using different PPFilter, his update was not looking fine on my side, so, as per usual, i rewrite a new ext_config by saving (and credits of course) him for what was working more than fine as always.

This update will include:

  • New EXT_CONFIG w/ RainFX, LightFX, GrassFX
  • New VAO
  • CM Skin with the fix of a couple of textures of windows (which were totally blue at night) and for the gravel wich will never blend well for the different shades of grass around the track, but which is closer than before (NOT perfect but it's work fine for me), so be sure to activate it in CM

Your improvements really do help this mod. You should contact the original author on RaceDepartment and offer your improvements to him. He could add them to his mod, and re-upload/update it on RD (and hopefully he'd give credit).
 
Guys, tommy78 has dropped a test sample of its mods among which there's the 190e evo2 from dtm 1991. the thing that is lacking is the badging and some good sounds; can anyone fix those issues?

I think it's great to post an occasional photo or video to show gratitude. To make the post better, write something about it, and provide a link to the original post with the download link, and/or the download link itself. That makes the post informative and useful for members that haven't visited this thread for a while.

So we need a new mod, and I need to visit the company, as they're local to me.

Seems to be based on the BAC Mono or Radical SR3 concept (this model is an "SR1").

Maybe I'll ask them for some resources (data, models) so a mod could be created.

The Rush SR-1 looks really nice. I'm looking at the brochure right now. If possible this would be a very unique and exciting entry in Assetto Corsa.

it's a while since he released it and to be honest i don't even know if he still doing something, no tracks from him from a while for now :-/
 
does anyone have the lamborghini terzo millineo mod or a bugatti la voiture noire? I have posted pictures in this thread. But it seems nobody knows what they are still.
