I installed everything manually but they are missing from the downloaded zip. :confused:
Read page 27 of the PDF with the intallation notes for the car. But if you don't want to install the original car you can also copy the 4 KN5 files of the original car and edit the lods.ini as the original car isn't encrypted. This doesn't work with GADU's Alfa Romea TZ2 as the car is encrypted.

Anyone know of a quicker way to export tags for a car all at once outside of copying each field in the CM or opening the UI.json file and copying the full tag list there? Thanks :cheers:

Seen some people complain about Gumroad so as a modder who uses it (https://opperslang.gumroad.com/) I figured I give my reasoning.

My biggest reason is that I just wanted a single place where I could upload my work with some pics and details and have it neatly sorted. While I could use Patreon for this I think Gumroad does it a lot better and more clear. The thing is that Gumroad offers a lot of extra stuff that I can appreciate as a modder and a nerd as well. Not only does Gumroad keep track of all downloads, it also tracks where users are from (country) and where they were coming from (link source). While those things may seem useless to you as user, to me as a modder they can provide a lot of motivation. I purely make mods because I want to drive these cars and if other people can enjoy those too that is awesome. My back-end tells me there are quite a few people who download my mods which in turn makes me want to release more.

Some other things for me are simply the fact that I only need to upload my mods to a single place. When I update my mod I only need to update a single file which greatly reduces the chance for errors. The other things I like is the possibility of reviews, as someone who always reads reviews I think they are important.

Finally about emails and money. Like others have said, most mods in Gumroad are free, you can just input $0 everywhere. Sometimes a mod page input box can say "$1+" this DOES NOT MEAN you need to pay 1 or more, it is simply a suggestion put in by the mod author. The email address can be literally anything you want. You could just input test@test.com and it should be fine.

While as a UX Designer I agree that the extra steps are annoying, for me as a modder the easy access of payment is a real blessing. Of course I do this for fun and because I want to, that doesn't change the fact that I've spent hundreds maybe even thousands of hours doing this so if someone wants do donate me a beer I'd gladly accept it and it is very motivating!

I know there are a lot of greedy modders out there so it's always a bit hard to talk about monetization without coming across like one. I just hope people can understand that all my mods are free but a small donation means a lot. So if a Gumroad page motivates people to donate it only makes sense to make one, not because I do it for the money but it's nice to know people WANT to thank you. Just know that there still are a lot of modders that would never-ever lock anything behind a paywall even if they use Gumroad!

Sorry for the long post but I'd love to hear your guys opinion. Should modders all have a discord (requires account), a patreon (requires account), a facebook page (requires account)? Or should they be posted on sites like GTplanet or Overtake where copyright issues are bound to happen?
It wasnt really a debate to begin with, only the site admin pointing that you can host mods here for free to a member that said he was switching to Gumroad because his google drive was full 🫣

TZ2 is still bugged/encrypted ... I read somewhere that downgrading CSP solves it, is there really no other way?

Also, some of the cars (on both packs) don't have a windshield when I updated the previews. And no, I don't mean the ones that actually don't have one lol

Did you installed manually or via CM?
 
Hello GTPlanet! Used to have an account on here about a decade ago, long lost the login on that one.

Some of you may know me already, for those who don't; I painted a couple of old race cars for AC over the past 4 years, right now the count is at roughly 2,000 liveries. If you've driven Bazza's excellent WSC packs, or Alguecool's incredible Piper GTR, you've likely seen some of my stuff!

Thank you! A solid, calm and descriptive argument toward that poor Gumroad, that was well needed.

Of all places outside Overtake-Department, where the local policy disappointed me greatly back then, I thing Gumroad is the one I though about the most. For the clean organized UI first, or the easy tracking/signaling for potential updates. But the extra steps for download were a bit repulsive I guess. In the end, it was that, or keeping track of the different links from a mediafire basis, then Famine had to actually remind me of the download section around here, and I'd say I'm satisfied by it. Monetization is completely non-intrusive, a simple paypal link, no tracking but not really needed in the end if it's a GTP user, proper mod presentation and reviews, the necessary stuff I'd say. If you're not looking to "optimize" your mods popularity or such, I'd say here would be my choice. Then the gum. Then the old school mediafire links. All of those far, far ahead of RD, FB, Patreon or Discord.

We were debating a self-inflicted debate on a non-debate topic. :lol:
 
I use this app from overtake: Broken car kicker 1.5.1
With it you can alter in race, brake hint, lookahead base and lookahead gas-brake, even on encrypted cars. But only in a race and, I think, the app saves the changes in a separate file, (not so sure about that) for further use. If not you could do it again next race.
Now, if the first two commands are explained by the creator of the app, the third command (lookahead gas-brake) makes no sense to me. Could you explain what it should look like? I made a screen from a race with GUE GT4 cars for you to see how it looks:

The gas and brake lookahead doesnt seem to do much on any car. On the GT4 cars, on pure eyemeter I would say that a lookahead base of 21 should be good for them to make the corners, and the brake hint could be moved closer to 1 to make them way faster too. The app doesnt have aero hints which on some cars make a great deal of a difference too. Shame the app doesnt perma save a data file in each car's folder. Most cars, even Kunos and big modding groups ones, come with painfully slow or crash prone AI for whatever reason, might even be the most overlooked part of the game considering how easy it is to test and tune.

After testing with the broken car kicker app:
I use either the unpack data to edit the ai.ini and save the changes once and for all

Or you can use Assetto Car Tuner to access and edit the data.acd directly, or even create a dedicated AI version of the car.

@G_Parrilla, i already made a Goodwood pack, a 1937 pack, some of the GTC60/WSC and i just made the 1967 F1 pack using this technique + some extra tweaks to make the AI drive as fast as a human driver. On a track with proper AI lanes, they really make up for a challenge. Let me know if you want to test (i usually share the packs here or on youtube), or if you have some cars in mind you want upgraded.

Lately on the edited Watkin Glens 60s, i had an absolute blast (here from 12th to 8th. The ones at the front are really cool to catch, after a huge amount of laps hotlapping) :




The ai lanes are from GPLaps, i edited the cars (heat mk1, ferrari 312, lotus 49 and honda ra300) and they run at 1.03.5 to 1.04.5, a pace not that easy to maintain.

Anyway, i need a way to share those without going against Kunos and Pessio's copyright/property, but if you are ready to follow a few steps, those AI versions can be easily done (and i already made the data).

Oh I totally do mess with most of the cars and tracks files I have and frequently use too, would love to try the F1 cars. With the GT4 pack I hit a wall because they are encrypted and that kind of messing completely breaks the mod, and I got surprised I saw noone mention the AI considering it was ok the previous version, and I evend had a souped up AI version ready to race as it wasnt encrypted too.

Btw I recorded a line for both Watkins (60s Sergio and modern Lilski) last week before watching your video (which I saw yesterday :D), compared to GPLaps Jake's line I got it a few tenths faster, although at the cost of some cars not being able to handle it so well, most notably the MkII Ford. I might give it another go but it was pretty quick already with Jake's line anyways.
 
Finally tried the Guerrilla + CF GT4s that released a couple months ago. Found the AI couldn't handle them at all on fast corners for some reason (the AI worked fine on previous versions). Did some digging, they have the ai.ini file from the Kunos Cayman, with a very low look ahead value that makes them run wide constantly and unnecesary low brake hints too. Started fixing it in the notepad hoping for a good race aaaand it broke the encryption making the cars useless. Pain. Has this been noted before? (The borked AI I mean)
@DaWallace frequently posts on here, give him a shout via PM and hopefully he can look into it.
