Since the previous GTR1 was at v1.1 are there some changes?
Or is the 1.0 is referred to the pack?

Did RSS ever work with community skinners?

Also, each of these cars they're releasing has a high quality version already; LP Design's Mustang is great (with a huge skin pack) and ChemFlummi's 296 is a conversion but it's top drawer. And more and more each car has multiple versions so any skin just gets a request to do it on another version too....

Maybe after ten years of AC lots of skinners are moving on too? More doing paid work (real world liveries are getting complicated!). Or just outside in the northern hemisphere springtime!

Entirely possible that the 296 will see a load; we'll see. Too soon to tell. Best thing we can do is dip our own personal brushes and contribute some :)
Disagree on the Chem 296 - it's too fast (faster than real world race pace times by over 2 seconds), the physics are questionable, the setup changes are counterintiutive and sometimes don't work, and it handles like a boat. Drives literally nothing like the ACC version.

I and many others drove it for LFM last year and it got so many complaints that it's been dropped - for the stock Kunos cars, no less. It's not as terrible as some of its detractors say, but yeah, as a comp car it is clearly not up to par.

The URD 296 drives OK-ish (nothing more than that), but the 3D model is shockingly below par and it has the same crappy AO problems that all of their new cars do now for some reason. As has been referenced earlier in the thread, it may actually be getting a rework (in which case I would yell at URD to PLEASE instead fix/finish your broken 2015 prototype pack that I stupidly paid for).

A shame, as I am a URD defender - their Oreca is the best in AC by a mile and is basically (suspiciously?) the iRacing Oreca, which is a huge compliment. And I love their 992 Cup car more than any cup car in AC (although I do have a fondness for the Kunos original, as long as you replace the crappy stock sound).

I've gone on a rant, but the point is - I'm happy that RSS have released a quality 296. It's my comp car in ACC and this one drives much, much better than the others, even though it isn't perfect IMO. I understand the "why make dupes when there are already good ones" argument, and I agree with it in principle (the most recent being the VRC Formula Beta/RSS F2) - but it's not warranted in this case, I'd say. The 296 is an important enough car where a standout version is needed, and there wasn't one prior to this.

Now we need the McLaren - I have always thought the whistleblower conversion was lacking.

I hope that a timing fix for Yas Marina is still in the works.

Anyway, any notes on your "jerez_2010" in your Mega repository? Original credits, version history, etc.? What is it? Is it a reworked alex meyer version? Or from a different source?

I caught it on Breathe's list and have had a look, but upon initial inspection I can't tell where it's from.

Cheers.

EDIT: One more note, when you can, please add the tag "circuit" to each of your releases - it's required for major AC features to function.

Good morning guys, entering CM Showroom I realized that it is possible to change the height of the car in real time, arrange the wheels more flush with the body, I was wondering if anyone knows how to save the changes permanently, given that even pressing update model, in game the data.acd file is not modified and the car remains original.
Thanks

In today's episode of 'CSP Has Been Possessed by the Devil':

For reasons totally beyond my comprehension, my Content Manager UI is now making decisions by itself, without any button pressing from me. When I start a session, it comes up with the normal pre-race menu, then a couple of seconds later, it just starts the driving session without me asking it to. Other times, it decides to switch to photo-mode without me asking it to. Sometimes when I finish a session, it goes back to the main UI without it asking me to.

I've checked my wireless keyboard and don't believe it's the result of sticky keys or almost flat batteries. It's possessed!

Has anyone else had anything similar happen in the past and found a solution? If so, please pass the holy water and tell me what commands I have to chant so I can banish this latest CSP/CM devil.

Anti-aliasing has been broken for a year, checked on/off in CM, forced NVIDIA settings, nothing ever works. Or anisotropic filtering doing whatever it wants, despite being at x16 I still get blurry patches of tarmac head of me (and nothing else!).

Only game affected. C'est la vie.

This new issue for me is a real head scratcher. I have no idea what's going on with it.

Having a new baffling and unexpected issue spontaneously appear almost every day is really f-ing boring.

EDIT: Another great mystery is why the FFB strength keeps changing itself. I set it to something, then start driving and five minutes later, the setting has changed... and I don't have any dynamic FFB things turned on anywhere!
:banghead:

it actually updates the car model .kn5
this wont work if the model is encrypted

Agree, everythings gets blurry and doesn't seem to help in any way. After a bit of drunken stupor with my 4k pc I just re-applied all Fall Guy's tips/settings and even lowered them in some cases.
I just see main resolution helping every aspect and most FXS doing just the opposite.

I run AC in 4k on a 1080ti
4x AA in-game and run ansio at 16x with vsync via NVInspector
All post processing and AA via CM/CSP is disabled, and I really have no issues that people often describe.

Maybe this helps someone.

Im looking at upgrading my 1070 to something but i only play at 1080 and mainly assetto this might be a good upgrade?

I guess it depends on your price point. I had a 980ti super-overclocked peviously and the upgrade set my perf across the board to where I wanted it. I am also a cheap bastard on low end CPU (4th gen i7) so I was considering a new 3060 for 350eu, but it really only offered raytracing and nearly no raw performance over a lightly used 1080ti for 200eu. I have no issues running Forza etc at 4k but do need to sacrifice abit eye candy on a (very) few titles to get good perf at 4k60hz. If you are sticking with 1080p then it might suit you fine.

Before I got my 4070 two Aprils ago, I ran the 1080ti for years in VR(with its extra performance demands) too. Only 2x MSAA, but the 1080ti is one of those superb value cards.

I wanted to help you, but Suzuki saw your preview, and now they have a restraining order on me....
Seriously, that is a bit extreme .

OK, unpack the data, and rename data.acd to something like data.acd.bak
In the data folder you've just unpacked, open suspensions.ini

In [FRONT] look for BASEY. Now, mind your maths, and add whatever change you've made in the CM showroom (in this case 100mm or 0.1m cos the data in suspensions is in meters. Take care with the sign. The stock Suzuki Cup car is BASEY=-0.220. Add 0.1 = -0.120 yeah?
Do the same for the rear.

Now. Many, many people in this forum, will tell you this is a dumb idea. Because it is. BASEY is related to the CoG of the car.
A 100mm adjustment will almost certainly trash the handling, setups etc. beyond redemption.
In my experience, BASEY can be used safely for small adjustments, but 100mm (4 inches) yoink will require more suspension-ken to do properly.

Further down in suspensions.ini you will find [GRAPHICS_OFFSETS]
This is where you can move the tyres inward/outward, this time relatively free from consequence.
Have the showroom open and a text editor open with suspensions.ini so that you can see both.
Adjust the eight values (again, mind the signs, they're opposite on each side of the car). A wheel and a suspension are a pair, and the values for each pair should be the same, else, for example, the brakes will show through the rim.
When you save the suspensions.ini (just save, not close) the changes appear immediately in the showroom.

When you're happy, save an close suspensions.ini, and in the parameters pane in CM Showroom at the bottom of the "Car Params" panel (where you gave basey an all-mighty whack) There's a button to Update model. CM will make a backup of the KN5 and "burn" your changes "permanently". This will then be visible anywhere you view the car.

All of this stuff will certainly not be usable online.
Good luck.

Edit: "Update model" uses data.acd first and if not found, the unpacked /data folder. Changing the sliders in CM does not change it in either, which is why the "Update model" does not seem to "take". You have to actually change the data first ^^.

On a budget for someone looking for an upgrade for 1080p what would you go for I’m not interested in spending 4-500 just want to get something that would do the job from a 1070, it works fine but I’m finding now afterburner it shows my gpu at 100% a lot so I need something that would improve but not be over the top for me? I’m running a 4790 cpu with it

Thanks

If you can find a used 1080ti or 20-series card, you should be good.

encrypted is always and still a scourge , the programmed death of the mods tracking , urgently that quickly comes out a software to decrypt them !

I would never encrypt one of my mods, no matter the work that I had to provide, I hope they last in time ....
Only people who want a decrypter for handmade content are those looking to benefit from others' work. I have no issue with URD encrypting the work they've created themselves. Since they made it, it's their choice whether it should be encrypted or not. It's not like you need their models anyway. Just port the LMU version to AC if you're that desperate for their cars, or use Trash Racing Rats' version. But to sit here and loudly demand a decrypter just so you can steal other people's models without permission? Absolutely hilarious.

Go ahead and do that for other games where people have already been paid for their work. But to come after people doing this in their free time? That’s straight-up thief behavior, Clown behavior in your case.
