No, but you have the right surname for the bitey one. I'll allow it, even though he's the third most-capped footballer of all time.
I was trying to do it without looking for the answer. :embarrassed:

Hokay, since the Americans have largely never played outside of their own country, I'll fill in all but one...
AFC all-time - Mohamed Al-Deayea (Saudi Arabia, 178); @Liquid
AFC current - Bader Al-Mutawa (Kuwait, 158); @Liquid
OFC all-time - Ivan Vicelich (88); @Liquid
OFC current - Shane Smeltz (New Zealand, 51); @Liquid
CAF all-time - (Egypt, 184)
CAF current - Ahmed Fathi (Egypt, 106)
CONCACAF all-time - Claudio Suarez (Mexico, 177); @DK
CONCACAF current - Noel Valladares (Honduras, 132)
CONMEBOL all-time - Iván Hurtado (Ecuador, 168)
CONMEBOL current - Paulo da Silva (Paraguay, 130)
Which leaves us with the question...

Who is the most-capped footballer of all time?

Ahmed Hassan. That's the fella!
Yep. Which leaves us with:

AFC all-time - Mohamed Al-Deayea (Saudi Arabia, 178); @Liquid
AFC current - Bader Al-Mutawa (Kuwait, 158); @Liquid
OFC all-time - Ivan Vicelich (88); @Liquid
OFC current - Shane Smeltz (New Zealand, 51); @Liquid

CONCACAF all-time - Claudio Suarez (Mexico, 177); @DK
CONCACAF current - Noel Valladares (Honduras, 132)
CONMEBOL all-time - Iván Hurtado (Ecuador, 168)
CONMEBOL current - Paulo da Silva (Paraguay, 130)

Alongside them is:
UEFA all-time - Vitālijs Astafjevs (Latvia, 165) & Iker Casillas (Spain, 165)
UEFA current - Iker Casillas (Spain, 165)

Which makes Casillas the only player to be both his confederation's most-capped active player and most-capped player.

This list also contains six of the seven most-capped players of all time, with Casillas and Astafjevs being joint 6th. The only one not on the list is Hossam Hassan, who @Liquid mentioned earlier, who retired from international football in 2006, after 169 caps for Egypt and is 4th overall.

Got no idea on names, but the fact that you are looking for a single person indicates that they did it with 2 different teams. If it was the same team, I expect there would be more than one person involved.

The name who immediately spring to mind is John Terry, he might have been on the bench for the last FA Cup final to be held at the old one in 2001 and he certainly won medals at the new Wembley....

Dennis Wise was probably too early for new Wembley? He's my guess anyway.

Yes he was, Millwall's 2004 FA Cup final defeat happened in Cardiff.

Clues:

Winner on the two occasions in question
Left-winger
A team in blue, then a team in red

Edit: No, neither was.

Well, I gave some clues and the second time, at New Wembley, the player was playing for a team in red.

I was looking up the firsts at New Wembley the other day and knew it was the first trophy won, it finished 3-2 to the winning team but I can't remember either team that played, never mind any players.

You can get this one.

- Left-winger
- First medal was with a team in blue, second was the FA Trophy with a team in red
- One-cap wonder for England
- Played under one particular manager at three different clubs
- Played in the Premiership and the SPL before returning to England

The answer was, of course, Steve Guppy. Not only was he the first to win medals at old Wembley (League Cup, Leicester 2000) and new Wembley (FA Trophy, Stevenage 2007) but he is also the only player to play for England, England B, England C and England U-21s.

Here's an easier one for you:

Which Premier League player has the most wins as a Premier League manager?

Recently a lot has been made about Jamie Vardy and the Premier League record for scoring in consecutive games. On this theme, I want to know...

Of Europe's big 5 football countries, who has scored in the most consecutive top flight games and how many games did they score in?

Of Europe's big 5 football countries, who has scored in the most consecutive top flight games and how many games did they score in?

Can you give us your definition of the 5 big countries?

English record is Jimmy Dunne with 18 goals in 12 games.

If I had to guess, I would say England, Germany, France, Spain and Italy.

But, I am yet to get anything right in this thread....

Well England's record is 18 goals in 12 games. That's the only one I know for sure.

France's won't be very high.

But because we are talking about all time, Italy and Spain might; the halcyon days of the 1950s could have seen an avalanche of consecutive goals but I wouldn't know where to start. Possibly Puskas, Charles, di Stefano, Piola, Nordahl or even Ronaldo de Lima, Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi.

Germany's consecutive record is almost certainly Gerd Müller but I wouldn't know the stats without cheating.
