AKs are very accurate, but only when firing Semi-auto. The AKM and later revisions helped improve the accuracy, as well.
ExigeExcelThe was an article in the paper (Daily telegraph ) about the AWB. And their examples for an assault weapon was Uzi's and AK-47's. Would anyone in the USA think of getting an AK-47? As it pretty much symbolises terrorism in the middle-east.
Event HorizonNow that the ban s expired, i went out and bought an M4 with M203 Grenade launcher, M248, M16, and a 24 Pack of grenades. I'm gonna go kill me some squirrels!
I also bought a 6 pack of Mac-10s for those pesky rats and c.o.c.kroaches around the house.
Takumi FujiwaraYou can now buy an AK. But it will be Semi-Auto.
You can also now buy an Uzi, or the dreaded Tec-9.
Solid LiftersYou can't go to a gun store and buy a AK47, or and Uzi. These guns are still covered by the 1989 gun ban.
Takumi FujiwaraThe length law still exists. So these weapons will have a foot long barrel sticking out the front, not only making them horrible for concealment, but making them look stupid, too!
ledhedSolid Lifters..You can buy an AK.47 semi auto or an Uzi semi auto in most gun shops in the US. The military full auto or burst models are affected by alot of laws begining with the '34 laws and ending with the '89 laws along with a ton of local and state laws.
The law bans 19 semiautomatic weapons and limits the size of clips to 10 rounds. But critics who say it should not be revived say it has loopholes that have limited its impact.
Wayne LaPierre, the NRA's executive vice president, says the law bans only "cosmetic accessories" on semiautomatic weapons while allowing similar weapons with just as much firepower to stay on the market. "All we are talking about if the ban expires is that once again manufacturers will be able to put more than two cosmetic features on a gun."
Gun makers made small changes in certain weapons that allowed "knockoffs" of the banned weapons to be sold legally. The Bushmaster rifle used in the sniping attacks that killed 10 people in the Washington area in 2002 was a legal weapon, very similar to the banned AR-15 rifle.
