What is ATAQ?
This ain't an aggressive movement but a friendly invitation to a time trial with a twist. The name is short for "Aliens and Terrestrians (and everyone inbetween) going At Quick speed"

For whom is ATAQ?
This is for people who enjoy time trials but miss the tuning aspect in the weekly official events. It is also for people who like to build their project cars and didn't try time trials so far.

It is not for people who love the grind for credits as you won't get any. You are not at the right place if you prefer cheating over striving for a goal.

Are there any rules?
It is my aim to allow as many different cars as you like. That's why you can bring any road car with a limit of 670 power points (PP) and racing medium tyres. It seems to be a good compromise to upgrade or downgrade a big variety of cars. Go wide and go wild! You can swap motors and apply parts and stickers as you like. I would be happy if this would evolve into something regularly and like in real life you should develop with your car.

You can participate simply by writing a message in this thread and should send a screenshot where your used car and your best lap time is visible like this:

I also kindly ask you to share a video of that lap (with #atac670). It is important to know that you end your participation of this event by sending in your lap time. Only one pic per participant! There is no thing like gold time but only you and your car at a track against the clock.

First testing shows that probably 4WD cars will have an advantage over RWD and FWD. That's why at the end there will be three lists of the fastest lap times. Your 670 PP Civic can win FWD class and your 670 PP Evo is at top of the 4WD for example.

I had already a lot of fun during the testing and preparation of this and would be happy if some other lovely people at GTPlanet like the idea and join. Please view this as a starting point and don't hesitate to ask.

I'm in.

Love the idea and am excited where this goes. Thank you for coming up with this.

I too like the idea.

I'm no use at tuning but i will try to participate.

How does just saving a video help? Do you really mean only saving on my PSN account? Do i need to share? Everyone can watch that?

I will use my online TT account. I don't have a lot of cars there atm so everything will be freshly bought and tuned i guess.

Yes, but once you send your Pic this round is over for you and you cannot further improve.

Ok i get it........
A quick one , group B road cars are excluded from this ? ( as VGT and other racing cars ) .
Not that i test any group B road car but am asking to make it clear cause it's s " grey " spot.

I thought about it and as I want to keep it simple they are included for now. This is really in the edge and might change at a second attempt.

The video is just because I like to see what is possible as I am by far not the fastest (as you know)... Sharing via PSN-account seems to be the easiest way and you might share with friends only so I can see it.

Regarding the tuning I suggest to give it a try but I am also sure that some nice people in this thread might share a setup or help you in another way. Great to have you on board!

Now this is something that's up my alley. :D

Just one question - do you plan to keep the same 670PP limit for all future time trials in this thread, or do you have ideas for different PP levels and regulations in the works?

You are very welcome! At the moment this is only a theory getting a first practical test. Yes, I would like to keep the 670 PP to not start always again from scratch. Many people spend a lot of time in the regular time trials already and this should not stress you. But maybe we will develop something different.

Great to see you again! I am eager to see what you guys come up with... I seriously consider now to focus on FWD class as there won't be many entrants. 🤔

That sounds great. But wouldn´t it make more sense to use Sport tires instead since time attack on tsukuba are set on semi slicks?
nevertheless

That's a valid point. During my tests the racing mediums felt more controllable to me. It is on the list to check for next event.
Welcome to the ATAQ squad! The more the better...

Cher ami, do I understand you properly that you moved fast in and fast out?!? In contrast to the TV show where a country wants to find a next supermodel a foto doesn't get you into the next round but finishes your participation on this time trial. Your fastest lap time in your pic will then be registered for this round. Is this what you want to do?

(Spoiler alert: it would be the first time after many months that I will be placed in front of you...)

Hello fellas,

in my opinion the so-called Road Cars are good but not over the top. So I tend to keep them legal this round. If you think different please let me know.

Here comes another good reason to join the ATAQ: you will for sure get that trophy "under 60 Seconds"... 😆 (I am pretty sure that you all already earned it.)

If you think different please let me know.
I dont think they would cause any problems.
Less available tuning sliders means less opportunity for PP calculation hickups (like the NSX picture).

My current optimal is 54s9**, but I have used up all my positive karma just to get so far and cant get close to it at all 🤣 (non swapped Alfa 4C)

Great, thank you for your input. So no 4WD for you?

Hi, very nice idea!
As long as i can bring a Porsche to the party, i'm in!

But i can't start lapping before the Manu Cup races are finished on Saturday.

A few questions:
  • Is there a way to see other participants times in the game?
  • What about Lachgas (i guess it's 'nitros' in english)? That doesn't add to the PP afaik. (I'd rather ban it, than use it)
  • Wouldn't it be nice to post the tuning settings as well as the time board? So everybody could have a go with that tuned car and maybe we could learn from each others setups.

Thanks!
