Which Day/Time Would You Like This To Take Place?

Well, this new points system will keep the season tight AND allow a Group B car to challenge for the Overall Championship, so something that gives meaning to the Overall Championship for Group B drivers. It follows as is;

Group A;
1st: 16pts
2nd: 12pts
3rd: 10pts
4th: 8pts
5th: 6pts
6th: 4pts
7th: 2pts
8th/DNS/DNF: 0pts

Group B;
1st: 16pts
2nd: 12pts
3rd: 10pts
4th: 8pts
5th: 6pts
6th: 4pts
7th: 2pts
8th/DNS/DNF: 0pts

This system will minimise any large points loss during the only double points round of the season at Suzuka.

Parts/Specs to come soon...

So do Groups A & B have a separate championship?

EDIT: If they are in the same points table I'd find that a little unfair because I'm in Group A and you're in Group B. I fight my way to the front to win while you're in, say, 9th place, you'll get the same amount of points as me (if you won in Group B). Regardless of the separate classes 1st and 9th place get the same amount of points for the same championship which is a little unfair.
If they are separate championships then that is a little more explainable as the two classes have different powered cars.

I've never seen a multi class series where classes competes in the same championship. So no, there's an abstract "overall standing" if you want but there should be 2 championships.

B). Regardless of the separate classes 1st and 9th place get the same amount of points for the same championship which is a little unfair.

This is related to what I said above. Two championships so 2 race standings too. First in group B (16pts) can be 5th overall. Points are class-standing related.

They do have their own championships, I just thought that I should give Group B cars something worthwhile working towards, like the overall championship.

If its not favoured, I can change to a different points system, if you wish. :)👍

EDIT- I get what you mean now, points are given out according to their class finishing position. So you could be 9th overall out of the two classes, but ONLY based on where you finish in YOUR class is what will dictate points being earned.

You should keep the separate championships and I do understand the inventive idea of having an overall championship but I've never really seen it work anywhere. But it's your series so it's your call. :) 👍

To make things perfectly clear, there are two championships, therefore 2 champions at the end of the season.
If 100% of the series relied on me, you wouldn't even read "overall championship" anywhere because I don't think it is relevant (seriously do you think GT Am fights in an overall championship with LMP1 in WEC ? Where's the fight ? :lol: ).

I do understand some people like the concept but just don't bring a negative mentality with it (e.g."I'm group A get out of the way when you see me in your mirrors!" :rolleyes:).
Don't consider it more than a bonus championship.

Ah right, yes I do understand, cheers! :cheers:

Yeah, the blue flag would do that job but apart from the Bathurst 1000, the Group A cars won't be fast enough to lap Group B cars.

There are other long races (3 enduro races + Grand Valley, Nurb and Silverstone with 1h+ races).
The same applies with blue flag, don't ruin Group B race by forcing you way through a tight corner. That's why I've posted EmptyBox's videos few pages ago on this thread, multi class is more complex than normal racing and I want to be sure everyone considers the other class's race respectfully.

Ah right yeah, they may be long enough for blue flags. 👍 But yeah, I understand. :)

Ok, I haven't explained the points system very well, here's the deal:

There are 3 Driver's Championship's.

Group A Driver's Championship

Group B Driver's Championship
&
Overall Driver's Championship

There is only one points system across the board and that is;
Group A;
1st: 16pts
2nd: 12pts
3rd: 10pts
4th: 8pts
5th: 6pts
6th: 4pts
7th: 2pts
8th/DNS/DNF: 0pts

Group B;
1st: 16pts
2nd: 12pts
3rd: 10pts
4th: 8pts
5th: 6pts
6th: 4pts
7th: 2pts
8th/DNS/DNF: 0pts

So, you get given points based only on where you came in your class. So a Group B car can come 9th in the field, but if it came 1st in it's Group, it will receive 16pts. Same goes for a Group A car, it may come second in the field, but if it came 1st in its Group, it would receive 16pts.

Hope that clears everything up... :)👍

Okey dokes, I need to know how many people will be in attendance tomorrow night so lets do an attendance sheet. Simply copy and paste the latest version of the attendance sheet, remove your tag from the 'Not Attending' category and put it in the attending category of your respective group, or, if you are unconfirmed, into the 'Unconfirmed' category.
