Problems in Greece which I would not consider is connected in anyway to the wave of protests in the Middle East or Africa. This down to the financial crisis.
About 100,000 people marched through Athens. There is a 24 hour strike by public and private sector employees.
But some protesters have been throwing petrol bombs.
Police said two policemen and five civilians were injured, including one journalist hurt by a petrol bomb.
These dramatic images show a scene when a policeman got hit by one.
(Not too graphic as they have been seen on BBC news 6pm when kids sit down to watch and eat dinner)
Link to 19 images which show a man set on fire:

This issue in Greece has been going on for sometime now, it's not the only European country badly effected by cuts and financial difficulties. Some have been close to having to be rescued by the world bank. I expect some have received very large amounts of money already just to keep the country running.

The most fair thing the government can do to start fixing their economy is to have the top most senior officials take pay cuts, and I mean deep pay cuts.

The protesters have to understand that throwing petrol bombs and other things will not get the problem solved, it will only makes things worse.

Greece has to tighten the purse strings somewhere, and I'd say start at the top first.
