I know, I know, another squirly mr  I wanted to run this later in the series but decided to get on with it since some may be used to drifting from the current wrs races.

I'm expecting some mixed reactions but give it a go, it might surprise you.

Please explain what the turnout is....

Im sure i wouldnt be the only one to ask.

Is it the area after turn 3?

The runoff to the right? As in, the bit in the pic? :dunce:

I love the car, but i hate the track....

Well done Arora.

:irked:👍

Thats the one David, we used it once in the wrs and I believe it's used for moto racing. I was hoping the pic would show it more clearly then it does.

I love the car, but i hate the track....
Funny 'cos I love the track but really hate the car LOL. Dono what the aids do to the car, especially in the wet, but it's prolly not much. What the heck, I'll give it a go just to honour Erik's great initiative. Also the Stratos is in one of the final licenses I still have to take in my new gamesave so it might be good practice :)

This looks fun :) Erik, I am missing all the cool combos! :( I want to take a month off and just race.... I hope to get some seat time for this on Sunday after LAN. bummer I missed race 2 as I love that car and track.

First 10 laps:

15.033
37.052

with TCS

EDIT:

Another 10 laps:

14.677
36.431

Top speed at 220 and still with TCS

Ran some laps before I have to go and 'pay the bills'

14.490 / 35.837

Beware of mid drift countersteer, always snaps back for me. Using 200 tops and no aids.

Ooh, tricky! The Stratos is a blast, and so is the wet tarmac, but I'm not very fast. I'll give it a go this weekend. I really wish I had a chance to run last week; I drove 10 or so laps for fun and enjoyed it immensely. I got around 1:35 with a lot of room to improve, but I could run that for hours on end and not get tired of it. Hopefully this one turns out the same way! :)

lol well from testing way back i couldnt get round the first corner but ill give it my all, to get a couple laps in (i was Dreading this one) haha

So im guessing u have to turn in the motorcycle curve after the dunlop sign that right?

A bit slow at first just to get the feet wet.
I think its a cool combo.

01GTP 15.251 / 38.314

right, the twist I did not let you in on ;)

Niels
Are you staying out of second gear?

yeah, but sometimes 3rd will bog way down so you gotta stay 30mph or better. I also brake right when the limiter kicks in on the back straight:tup:

George, dont post twice within 16 minutes if no-one else has posted after your first post.
Just edit your first post with the new information, and mark it as an EDIT: if you want to draw attention to it.

Otherwise all everybody is going to be able to see is the nose of a Mazda RX-8 everytime they come in here. 👍

Im going to run some short laps, but i am very very tired....

Good luck to me...

:irked:👍

Well, ive hit some 14.4's and some 35.6's but nothing im happy with yet.

Im just too tired, cos i just keep getting slower and making more and more mistakes.

Sleep, F1, Food, WES and then i'll be back.
:boggled:👍

First-rate combo here. 👍👍 I've never had so much fun at this track. The very first lap I ran a 35.0 T2 and wondered "I'm not that good, am I? I must be doing something wrong... oh, right! The motorcycle curve! :dunce:" So then I ran the correct way through and got a very nice time .005 off my goal. But then I realized the incorrect ghost was .5 faster when I went to save it! :banghead: I then exited and started a new session, and did manage to come within .06 of that first time. Yet... I know for absolute sure there is .7 left for me. I've ran a T1-T2 .5 faster than my ghost and gotten out of the last hairpin much better for a time over the length of the straightaway .2 faster, only to mess up the last roundy repeatedly. :dunce: So these are my splits so far, with boatloads ideally to improve. Gearing 200, TCS (I think my controller would be in pieces right now without it on), and steamrolling the first cone into the tarmac - that's okay, right?

14.508 :)/36.160 (seen 35.929 :ouch:)

Anyone else like how the mud flaps, well, flap, on this car?

Despite what I thought about the car (not too good) it actually is quite a predictable drive in the wet. Sliding and drifting was never this easy :)

15.450
38.210

The corner into the extra curve is actually easier to take knowing that you can keep going to the right.

More to come tomorrow.

Made two posts my mistake .
As far as RX-8, it's only temporary until my show car does 160 mph... you wont see me. :irked:👍

YES!!!

I am certain I got a lap I cannot beat, and that I am very proud of, despite a crap T1. I blew away my previous best split for T2 and nailed the last corner, unlike a previous lap with a 35.86 in which I took the scenic route to the finish. :banghead: So, my splits that I will submit:

14.717 (:yuck: seen .49x a couple times)/ 35.639 ()

And I obliterated my old goal for final time.

To help me in the standings, can we please count the warmup race? :sly:

I made an attempt at this one and realized I need lots of time. Kind of daunting! My braking points are completely off. :dopey:

First attempts. I am still a stubborn fool and do not have the Uber Save, so I had to go out and win Chamonix Hard. :dopey: But I am now closer to getting my new save to 100% and I managed a Silver on the Chamonix liscense test, so I am down to 1 bronze and 9 silvers, the rest are gold. 👍 Just keep backing up my game save to the PC every week so I do not lose it again. :scared:

Anyhow, now to the important topic, my first splits. It's a good thing the Tsubuka Wet Normal event is an easy way to earn some quick cash. I am used to the course, I just nomally run it in a 4WD car to I don't have to worry too much about controlling the oversteer. So this makes it a bit more of a challenge. :nervous:

15.324/37.847

Plan to spend the rest of my driving time today in another MR on a short course for the WRS, but I am not going to be a :dunce: this week. I will hold off on submitting in anticipation of at least one more session on the Lancia.

Fun Combo, Erik. 👍

Kevin

My first attempts at this one. Secretly one of my favorite cars actually. I find it fun to drive in any event.

14.981
37.915

Give it another go later in the week.

Ran a few and found some 14.3 and a 14.2, also got 35.3x twice and dumped the hairpin exit :dopey: I'll be back soon with some splits

UPDATE: Austin, Kevin, and RonB 👍

Theyre amazing splits arora, well done!

Are you still using 200 gearing?

I havent tried that yet (been on 220)

I'll have a go tomorrow night.

Good luck all

:irked:👍

Sorry Erik - Just when you get me on the board, I go and change my splits. :dopey:

I changed to the 200 gearing and find I have a lot more control over the car. 👍

14.932/37.158

I've seen T's in the 14.5 and slightly less range, but have not put it all together yet. Hoping to keep up with Niels again this week. :D

New splits.

01GTP 14.786 / 37.479

Was trying it with out TCS, but had to give in to it. I want some wheel spin around the corners, but I can't control it the way I would like. So its brake in, turn and stomp the gas out.

Man, you're losing 2 seconds in 2 corners with TCS on.

This is one of the easiest combos ive driven where drifting can come naturally.

Try it!

You'll be a faster GT driver in no time.

Trick is to go a lot slower than you think, and you'll end up a lot faster than you thought.

Good luck

:irked:👍
