This black topped track weapon is the most hardcore version of the first generation TT. Its heavily modified turbo-4 of 1.8 litres puts out 238 bhp - nearly the same output as the much larger 3.2 litre model, but with much less weight. Its torque output of 236lb/ft is virtually equal to the 3.2, and peak power arrives at a modest 5,700rpm, which makes for truly versatile performance. The Sport is strictly a two-seater, with a spartan interior marked by copious suede and track-focused bucket seats. The transmission is a 6 speed manual linked to the Quattro's trademark 50:50 split AWD system.
Performance was top level for a £28,000 car in 2005 : 0-60 is dispatched in just 5.9 seconds, a full half a second quicker than the 3.2 Quattro. Its top speed is limited to 155 mph, like most German sports models, but it is on the racetrack that it really shines.
As far as I'm aware, the only racing game to feature the Quattro Sport is Test Drive Unlimited, and I would definitely like to take on the circuits of GT in this weapon...
