Since a couple of days I am missing the rear surround sounds on my PS4.

I have the PS4 hooked up to the amp via optical.
My amp shows the channels that are in use and the rears aren't there. I tried all settings on the PlayStation but I get nothing. It's not the amp as the rears do work with the tv box that is also through optical.

Does anyone have a clue what it could be, Google isn't helping at all.

Tried resetting the audio configuration in the PS4?

Set the output to stereo then back to quad or 5.1

I have tried everything that's available on the PS4.
The amp sees that there is a 5.1 signal, but no actual signal is going to the rears.

Page 4 of Google has provided me with some information about people with similar~ish issues.

Seeing that I have been playing Minecraft for the last 2 months or so I probably didn't notice my rears going out sooner.

It seems to be a PS4 software issue. I think I'll have to wait for a new update.

Welp.

I done goofed a bit. Yesterday I turn on my PS4 and the amp and no sound anymore. Herpiederp what's going on now? Walk to the amp for a close up look, mute is on. Ok no biggie. Then I notice a different light is burning also.

The amp was no longer in AFD mode but in a studio setting. Turn on AFD and the rears spring back to life.
