If so what a waste honestly.
Prepare to feel it’s a waste.
As part of the collaboration, Gran Turismo 7 will feature new and exclusive Dior racing gear that can be applied to the player’s driver avatar and a customised vintage car, the 'De Tomaso Mangusta…
…All these items and the special edition De Tomaso Mangusta will be available to enjoy in-game from 25 August.

Probably the same as every other update, with 3-4 new cars, a handful of events and possibly one new track. The Dior collab is probably confirmed for the next update.

If it's anything with the pattern of the previous update, I'll give my take on it:

Cars:
  • Bugatti Chiron '16
  • Bugatti Type 37 A Grand Prix '28
  • De Tomaso Mangusta Dior Edition '69
  • Honda NSX GT500 '00
Tracks:

Road Atlanta
  • Full Circuit
  • Club Circuit
Quality of life updates:

Arcade Modes and Custom Races:

1. Players now have the ability to rent cars in "Arcade Race", "Time Trial", "Drift Trial", "Custom Race" and "2 Player Battle". All the cars in the game are available as rental cars in these game modes, and any future cars added in future updates will immediately be available to rent.

The option of using rental cars come with limitations, such as:
  • Credits and Driving Marathon progress will not be earned driving a rental car. To earn rewards, players should use cars from their Garage.
  • Only car-specific factory colors and livery variations can be used. Rental cars cannot be customized in any way.
  • Tuning of these cars will be based on the car's default set-up with no upgrades, with whatever parameters are permitted. All tires are freely available to use, however.
2. It is now possible for players to change their own car in Custom Races.

3. "Select from Garage" in the "Rivals Selection" tab in Custom Race has been renamed to "Select Individual Cars". Furthermore, another feature has been added when proceeding to change an AI opponent's car, split into two different selections: "Change Car (Garage)" and "Change Car (Rental)".

Economy:

1. It is now possible to sell cars for 50% of their original resale value. However, players can only sell a car if it is a duplicate, and they cannot sell their only example of an individual car.

2. The payouts for events have increased even further, picking up from version 1.11, where the first half of all World Circuits events will be increased by 100%, and the latter half, by 500% compared to what was previously offered.

3. Credits payouts from Arcade and Custom Races have been increased by five times their usual amount. However, they can only be earned driving cars from a player's Garage, and will not be earned when driving a rental car.

4. Roulette tickets are less likely to be rigged to give the least impressive prizes, and now have a more unpredictable outcome. Furthermore, it is possible to skip directly to the reward by pressing X while the pointer is spinning.

Car Collecting:

1. The garage limit has increased from 1,000 cars to an almost unlimited number of cars.

2. Brand invitations Brand Central have been removed altogether, allowing players to purchase any car freely. As a result, they are no longer offered as rewards in roulette tickets.

3. In Used Cars and Legend Cars, there is now a timer on every car that determines how long a car will be up for sale.

Tuning/Customization:

1. Tuning parts previously exclusive to roulette tickets are now available under the Extreme category, costing Cr. 50,000 each, such as:

  • Bore Up-S
  • Carbon Propellor Shaft
  • High Lift Camshaft-S
  • Stroke Up-S
  • Titanium Connecting Rods & Pistons
  • Ultra-High RPM Turbocharger
  • Weight Reduction Stage 5
NOTE: Not all parts are available for certain cars.

2. A new tab has been added to the Tuning Parts Shop, "Engine Swap", where players can purchase a variety of engines. Not all engines are available for certain cars.

3. In GT Auto, a new option has been added to the Livery Editor: "Original Colors/Liveries", which can allow players to switch between a car's specific factory colors and livery variations for free.

Online Lobbies:

1. Online stability and connectivity of lobbies have been improved.

Other:

1. Dior-related racing gear has been added as customization items for the player's avatar.

New menus, race events and Scapes will be added to reflect the new content added in this update, alongside various bug fixes and numerous issues being addressed.
I hit like because this took some effort and time to put together and I like it!

At this rate - early adopters will get bored of this game (if they haven't already) extremely quickly and this game will never feel like it has enough content to justify calling this game GT"7" but consumers that pick this up roughly 2 years after release might think its a great game.

They'll introduce a few QOL improvements that should really have been their on release and the PD super fans will be grateful, defending any negative comments about this
Exactly my thoughts on all of this.

Many people have already dropped the game, but at the same rate, many people are buying it as well. People who buy the game now compared to March will at least have a bit more content and quite a bit more quality to enjoy.
And this is definitely going to be the case for whoever buys the game in 1 year time, where they will think that the game is amazing, and it probably will be, but us who bought it at launch, can't give it anymore than a 6 or even a 5 out of 10 objectively with no bias. Game at launch and even few months after with some updates, is still objectively a massive disappointment.

Your last comment though, is the absolute truth. When I read those same people writing stuff like "this update was great, and I'm so happy we can do this now" ... and then forget that its basic features that should've been on a game with 9 years of development, with a large company working on it and with Sony having their backs.

But then again, these are the same people that defend the idea that selling cars doesn't make any difference to the overall economy and flow in the game.
Baffling...

Then the car will be labeled as "professionally tuned". I also have a feeling they would add Dior to Brand Central and just feature a museum related to their history.
Ya....They have most definitely lost their way.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see the demographic data, or a venn diagram on the correlation between Gran Turismo users and Dior users. I think it's something like this:

Route X is there. Routes 5, 7 and 11, not so sure.

I know, but Route X is so boring... Route 7 would be perfect to reply Wangan racing.
Considering that Routes 5 and 11 were directly inspired by the Tokyo Expressway, so that there would be no more spiritual space to add them again after the addition of the various routes from Tokyo Expressway, as some claim; so in my opinion it would be no problem to bring Route 5 and 11 reinvented for other locations or even in racetrack format, as long as they kept the excellent track.

Kaz could look kindly on this project devised by GT Planet users:

The old special stage routes would be possible but just made up with Tokyo Expressway's assets (mostly). They could keep the same or similar layout but make it convincing like TE.

Each SSR has its own purpose. Route X is for top speed testing, 7 is for wangan midnight style runs, 5 for either the 'beginner' entrance to night time city tracks and an advanced one.

Then there's SSR11 - The holy grail of Special stages! The one, the beast, the legend! This is of course the GT1 version with its amazing colour scheme/palette and great layout! The GT3 one feels like someone took an amazing painting and threw a bucket of water over it before it dried, then snipped each corner for no reason. I say this because the GT3 lacked the main soul of SSR11 which is the chicane under the start and finish straight. The GT3 version just turns left and has a pitiful excuse of a chicane with zero soul to either the layout or colouring.

There, that's my input to this thread!

Not the 2016 BRZ GT300. I actually wouldn’t mind seeing it return at some point.
That would be the perfect opportunity to fill the 2016 Super GT series. In 2016, there was 14 cars running in GT500.

Due to the current 20 car limit we have in game, that leave us with 6 extra spots for GT300. We can fill those spots with cars that we already have in game, but it would be awesome to have a Super GT car by Subaru/Toyota.

I wonder if I will live to see the day where I can fully recreate the Super GT series with a full grid of 43 cars...
