Nurburgring SuperGT 3hour Endurance Race
Saturday 2nd of June
02/06/12
Race Start time
11pm NZ
9pm NSW/Qld
7pm Western Australia
Qualifying
30minutes before Race Start.
A 3hour Endurance race hosted by BFGracing.com around the Nurburgring. 3hours being the equivalent of 20laps in dry conditions at 8min 30sec per lap, or 18laps in the wet with an average of 10min per lap. So the race will be run to 18laps at this stage.
24hour Circuit in GT5 with Full Weather and full day/night cycle on. Open to all drivers who would like to take part and experience the strategy and challenges that endurance racing bring to the top. One corner won't decide where you ultimately finish, and it's not a matter of passing ten cars in 3 laps. It's a long race where consistent driving and overall strategy will win the day.

As you can see there are 14 chassis in which to choose from. To make this a unique event we would like it if players selected a different chassis each after seeing the nominated list. This is not a hard rule, but please try to select a different chassis or we will ask players to select another car. We just don't want to see 5 Calsonic skylines in a 10 car race for example.
Nominate your car in the thread below upon signing up.
For this first race, we will run just the single room at a limit of 11 players to keep lag to a minimum and we race with open mics. This is so players can call passing moves and communicate with drivers during the race to avoid collisions or call out if you have spun on track to warn drivers.
Qualifying will begin 30minutes before race start. The track will be 'reset' (selecting a different track, then re-selecting the race track) and there will be 30minutes for which players to make 1 flying lap. You can of course use the qualy session to continue to setup your car or practice, or even turn up in the room. You will just forfeit your qualy position and start from the back. Grid Setup will be fastest first.
Standard clean online racing rules apply. 2 wheels on track, no corner cutting, no contact with other cars etc. If you are the cause of an accident and another driver has to pit as a result, you are expected to follow that driver into the pits and pit behind them.
The replay will be watched afterwards and penalties may be handed out if rules aren't followed. We don't run GT5 Penalties in our rooms as we can do that ourselves and add time penalties to get official results.
Common sense applies here. We have noted it is no contact racing, of course we all try our best, and on competitive cars on similar pace with a narrow track, there will be some small contact. But if that contact results in an accident, and the driver at fault of that accident decides to carry on and not pit behind the damaged victim, then that driver may find a penalty of up to 1 minute per offence added to their final time.
Practice Nights. There will be 2 official practice nights, hosted from 9:30pm NZ (7:30pm NSW) on both Thursday's preceding the event which will just be free run hosted by us for approx 3hours. You are of course welcome to practice freely up until the night of the race.
