Automobilista 2 - Discussion Thread

Hey if you need help with AC and the head wrenching amount of stuff to get it up to par, let me know.
I appreciate that because I'd like to give it a go. Thank you

Just did 2 races and the handling is amazing. My biggest fear was at under braking the cars would get unstable but that didn't happen.

Is there a way to bind buttons on my wheel so I don't have to keep using the laptop for navigation of the UI?

I haven't managed to map any button to the "confirm" or "back" command.

I was only able to manage mapping the "pause" command

Yep.

Options/Controls/Edit Assignments

Don't know what your favorite form of racing is but if it's early F1 up to the V10 era you're in for an absolute treat with AMS2. Download and install some skins and it's heaven.

Is there any chance you could give me a little more direction because I was in that screen for about 40 minutes and it has different tabs. I looked under each tab and could not find the "back" or "confirm" command to be mapped.

Now that I think of it, I couldn't find the command to move around my TV screen. I guess it would be called "navigate"

And, heck yeah, that's a great era to race in. Can't wait to dig on a little more.

I did two races, using the Corvette at Daytona for multi-class and then using the McLaren 570S head Interlagos in a short 7 lap race

I had to start the game to remember.
Ok follow the path as above then also vehicle, so Options/Controls/Edit Assignments/Vehicle.
Use your mouse to click on the last step, vehicle. (I think Tab works also) From there use your arrow keys to highlight what you want to bind, press button on wheel and voila, done. Keep scrolling down with the arrow keys and bindings you didn't realise exist also appear. You can also assign a secondary input if so desired for the same binding on a button box for instance.

It sure is a bit clunky but once used to it it works fine and you shouldn't have to change it very often.

Hope that helps.

Thank you @Shaun

Appreciate you spending the time to detail it like that.

I have a lot of things mapped but there are still two things that I cannot map 🤬

I can't map an "enter" or "back" button

I also can't navigate the menus with my wheel. I have to reach over to navigate on my laptop.

So frustrating

I'll have a look when I get the chance sometime today mate.
I don't have either of those mapped to my wheel, so I'll need to dig around. I assume those commands can be mapped but maybe not.
