He is simply stating that it would have been much more 'convenient' to do it from within the main menu of GT4, like you could in GT3, rather that having to do it from the browser menu.

That is exactly what I was saying. I currently use two cards for GT4 myself and do, indeed, use the PS2's browser to copy the file, but this is far less convenient than if PD had included a "backup game data" option in GT4. As it is, if you want to save after an important change (say the completion of a long race series) and immediately backup, you have no choice but to restart the PS2 in the process then wait for GT4 to boot again if you wish to continue playing. It's not impossible to accomplish, and I still do it, but it's still far less convenient than in the previous incarnations of Gran Turismo.

I use two memory cards and I made a backup save every time I turn off my PS2.
