Dear tuners,

Thank you for visiting this thread, unless you're not aware already - this is a race factory and I demand competent tuners and test drivers.

The focus of the tunes supplied by the factory places emphasis on compliance, meaning precise control - an almost telepathic ability to maneuver and turn on a dime via the power of 'suggestion' (in the words of Jezzer Clarkson).

The sacrifice for straight-line speed will be gained 10-fold on the bends, and compounded a 100 fold on a winding track. Anything else other than first is not acceptable and coming second is being the first of the losers.

Currently, the GT Planet scene is largely dominated by 3 tuning garages. Avid has its sights aimed high and will hope to equal its rivals on all fronts.

For whoever is interested in expressing their interest, please submit your application either below or via PM. However, before you rush off in a flurry of keyboard madness, please note the following pre-requisites;

Some knowledge in;

* the principles behind spring and damper operation
* calculations of weight transfer
* mechanism and operation of a Limited Slip Differential
* wheel and suspension alignment (i.e. King-ping alignment, caster, toe, camber etc)
* car layout and weight distribution

AND MUST LIKE TOP GEAR (well not necessarily top gear, but you ought to know if you adore cars) =P

I am currently seeking 2 tuners and 3 test drivers in the following discipline;

1) Race Car tuning and testing (includes all LMP, DTM and RM cars)
2) Drift Car tuning and testing (must I elaborate?)
3) Sport Car tuning and testing (includes everything else)

*CURRENT CANDIDATES ENLISTED: MrGrado - Race Car tuner*

4 more positions left!

NOTE: Once the factory formally starts operations, a future division for formula/open wheel racers will be opened - so prospectors whom were not chosen, DO NOT DESPAIR!

On your application, please specify which position you are interested in and how you may contribute to Avid Racing Factory.

Thank You.

Vett'e

Que?

Either that means you think you're going to completely dominate tuning or you don't understand what you're saying.

Also, there is at least one more garage that will be launching soon with tune counts likely to rival or surpass RKM and LDP. And quality to match.

LoL.... I was going to call him out on that remark as well... But didn't since I'm not running a tuning shop anymore... :P Quite bold statements if you ask me...

Yes, can I test drive race cars plz? I love GT and played it since GT1. I like making fast tunes and racing fast laps so I think I could fit any open position.

So I think I can drive and tune to a decent standard but I'm aweful at drift driving and drift tuning, sry.

I concede that I may have been bold, but Avid aims to be the best and will strive for that. Though our experience in tuning may be shallow in light of the others, I believe that through garage competitions that Avid will equal its rivals and surpass. Avid has it's sight aimed high!

Bold statements - yes,
Overstatement - no.

On another note, I have already made tunes for some cars, but have yet posted them. Please bear with my inefficiency.

Hi Grado, I'm chuffed to receive your response and enthusiasm. I will have you on my list as Race Tuner. Have you much experience in GT and LMP class cars?

Thanks

Well I doubt it's going to be option 1 since he PM'ed me asking to join GME before he created this garage. ;)

Thanks for the compliment RJ. :D:D:D:D

Yes I know you're talking about MFT, but since you didn't specify who, I might aswell take the credit!! :sly:

Actually I was talking about you. MFT's already launched, they're just putting tunes together at a rather relaxed rate.

^^^^ Since when do you have job openings??? ;)

I have reserved slots for a couple of people I've already pre-decided from GT4 days, and would've had them join GME except my health problems (which are now pretty much fixed THANK GOD!) prevented me from doing so at that time. :) These guys have proven themselves in competitions repeatedly and I'm just anxious on them having GT5 so we can pass tunes back and forth and I can be more on top of things.

:embarrassed: Now I feel blessed for the big props there. 👍👍 Let's just say when I launch, I will be up there with you guys in the 1 hit once again. I won't mention the number of cars yet, but it will put me well and truly back in with the Big 5, that's for sure. ;)

I have good experience with GT cars. Which cars are LMP? I'm guessing they are some of the MR racecars from previous games. I still made very good tunes for those but I used to tune mostly GT cars and nice street cars.

That's great! LMP cars denote cars like the Audi R10 TDI and Courage. Do you mind handing me a tune that you have made so I can try? (preferably a Honda as you can tell from my signature =P)

Thanks!

Yeahhh I figured it'd be easier to start my own garage, but thanks anyway mafia_boy! Sorry for not replying to your PM earlier.

Good luck with your own garage!

If interested please reply with your desired post and how you can contribute!

Currently, there's one candidate already in the running for Race Car modifications, so 4 more openings left!

Thanks

Umm, that post from Blitz was for me vett'e. :)

I have these settings from GT5:

JGTC NSX RACE CAR TUNE

aero: max
gears: 217 MPH
DIFF 15, 15, 15.
ride: standard
springs: 13.8 14.8
shocks: 5, 5, 5, 5.
Roll: 4, 4.
camber: -2.6 -2.6
toe 0.00, 0.30
brakes 6, 4.

You can see straingt away I havent tweaked every available setting to make the fastest ever car ever but it drives nice and is good for A spec and B spec off line. Thats all I have needed from it until now.

I will look for a real old thread with evidence of a far more detailed tune of a GT car so you can see that I do take care with my tunes when it is competative.

I'd love to be part of your team, been playing since gt1 and I love the series. Just getting into tuning and love driving. I'm pumped and really want to work here.

I made a logo to get us going.
