Love the color and how it varies depending on how the light hits it. VW had a similar color several years ago. Love the black wheels too. đź‘Ť

Is that a dent directly beneath the drivers mirror? I think I also prefer the ambers.

I like the amber front corners but not the rears. IUNNO MENG.

I'd actually say the other way around.

All European M3s had the red/clear rear lenses, so for me these make it an M3 and the ones with amber sections look cheap because they're identical to the bog basic 318i coupes. Which is bad.

And if you use clear rears, then having the amber fronts would look a bit off I reckon.

That's my point about the tails. I like the clear signals on the rear. But amber up front seems to look better to me. I dunno. It seems like it "doesn't flow" but it's better than having clear corners that aren't the same color as the headlights.

Agree. Though I'm sure it's possible to find clear corners that match, would seem like an oversight if every company that produces them uses the wrong type of plastic...

I don't mind if the Ambers were also used on the low end models; people who know BMW's will still be able to see its an M3, and people who don't will just see a BMW. Honestly, the more low key it is, the better at times. Stealth daily is kind of nice, I can floor it when I need to shoot out onto the freeway and there isn't crazy amount of noise - just another BMW.

That's sort of what the M3 is about, it's not all up in your face, it's subtle, with a few cues that give away it's potential. Ithink the first few euro model year E36 M3s came with amber corners. Also, my question to you: I have been seeing a few E36 M3s and this one got my attention: http://www.clasificadosonline.com/UDTransDetail.asp?AutoNumAnuncio=2617289
It says it's had 20k invested into it, which I don't really believe but it looks like it's in good shape. How expensive are these E36 M3s to maintain? How are the electronics on them? My dad knows someone with a 540i that had a window motor not working and they wanted to charge hime like like $600 for everything, which can add up if you get any other problems.

I like the ambers a lot. And personally I would love to see it with regular e36 mirrors.

Fairy snuff, I suppose M-cars are about the engineering more than the styling.

Also, someone asked if that was a dent under the mirror. And yes it is. Some wood fell on the car while it was in the garage that my landlord was storing, and she is to reimburse me for it, and I just got a quote earlier today - $855 dollars. Oh fun.

Hey, remember that Celica? Yeah, I still have it. Trying to get it out of here and a friend and I have been working on it. Wasn't getting fuel.

This could be the reason why

Yes, that is the fuel pump

Nothing there that a good scrubbing, disassembly, oiling, re-wiring, re-building, testing, cursing and an entirely new fuel pump won't fix...

What do you fill up with, by the way, salt water?

Gasoline. And then it sat for 2.5 years after driving 70 miles. And that is what happened. Don't mind it sat for 5 years before it started up at all and it worked just fine. Apparently 34 to 35 years is just too much to ask for a fuel pump, but 30 is fine :dunce:

Weather was a bit more cooperative today, though still raining on and off. Had to get out and drive, since I've been packing and under a lot of stress the past couple of days - was about to snap.

Yeah, dirty. I know.

How reliable has yours been? Would you say an E36 M3 could be a reasonable daily driver?

E36 M3 would be a fine daily driver as long as you buy a solid one and check for all the known issues, which are well documented. The S50 and S52 are solid motors, along with most of the car. There is more routine maintenance though.

Also, took this, thought it was kind of amusing.

Now with matching wheels.

Got some Star Specs for the fronts, so that is nice.

Quick snap shot. Weather has been crap so car is dirty. Ugh.

Just realized your M3 is purple due to the post you made in the Announcements thread. God damn colour blindness.

Haha, though sucks you can't tell. Yeah, it is Daytona Violet, which is very much purple in daylight. I initially got a lot of crap about the color from people, but most have admitted it is a pretty awesome color on a car. Downside is it has to be clean to look good, and it gets dirty stupid fast.

And here is a random picture that was a pain to work with because of the exposure, thus why it looks all meh. But the scenery was epic.

Also note, this was a couple of weeks ago before I got the wheels sorted out.
