B-Spec and Career

After playing some B-Spec, I started thinking what if PD implemented a career system like how modern sports games do it?

Like when you are new and fresh to B-Spec, you have to find a new driver, cultivate his talents, and award him some of the earnings from the races he wins. And along the way, when you pick up more new drivers, rivalries can form, or money becomes an issue (Driver B is mad that Driver A earned more, though Driver B has more wins at the moment.).

It can add some more flavor to the B-Spec formula at the very least.

What do you guys think?

I was thinking that sponsors should be added into the mix, but then I thought it can get complicated, and PD might make a mess of it.

I'd like to think this is where PD want to go with B-Spec. Kind of like football manager but with racing cars. :D:tup:

Yeah I love football games because of the management I can do. It adds a whole new dimension to playing a game.

How cool will it be if a highly leveled Bob can train a younger level Bob?

Or better yet, have your Bobs race against you and learn from your mistakes and successes?

That last part though would require amazing AI. Something which PD needs tutoring in.

If PD focus on the essencial, mix new features correctly and make AI more complex, I actually think B-Spec mode could be something cool.

I personally wouldn't mind if B-spec was done away with, and implemented the way it was in GT4.

You're right though, such features would be rather interesting and give us a break from the monotonous grinding:tup:

PD ran too far with B-Spec to just scrap it altogether. And I think Kaz loves the idea of B-Spec.

The only problem about my idea is that it does require a more complex AI system, which PD has shown needs more work with.

I think such additions to B-Spec would be beyond the scope of GT5, and almost warrants a game of its own (or some type of expansive DLC, at the very least).

Because you know even if they managed to do all that, you'll then get a million people complaining why they put so much effort into upgrading B-spec at the expense of online racing, trading, A-spec/Seasonal content, fixing bugs/glitches, etc...

Yeah, the AI are way too slow, they should be able to get within one second of an average human laptime.

I've never seen any other AI lift the throttle on straights, yet Bob constantly does that with the X2010.

Yeah! It's so annoying when they do that!

Mine casually lets people past on oval whilst the AI block him out most of the race.

Nevermind Bobs hating each other, i already hate all of them!

I'll chime in a comment of agreement that something like that would be very, very cool - especially since I'm currently spending all my GT5 time between grinding the 🤬 out of B-Spec for credits (90%) and enjoying PhotoMode (10%).

I don't know how expansive I would like it to be. More dynamics to B-Spec would greatly increase it's appeal, replay factor, and longevity. However, there's a bit of beauty in its simplicity. I do know, though, that some sort of active and meaningful driver interaction is at the heart of what B-Spec lacks. (i.e. It really does needs more driver feedback than one of three useless colored arrow boxes.)

It would be great to see what they could offer us, but I doubt we will see any great sort of expansion to the gameplay dynamics of B-Spec, particularly with all the issues there are in the game already. (I'd rather see the game more stable and polished before I see the things I wish were included.)

Peace...

I'm with you on that one.

sigh...perhaps in a GT game on the PS4 is when B-Spec truly becomes alive.
