B-Spec Driver Arrows

Does anyone know what the ever changing arrow next to the helmet of your B-Spec driver during driver selection means?

I've seen mine go from downward pointing orange to upward blue and back down to stagnant green. What does this all mean?

I think it's the driver's morale or his level of lethargy....not really sure since there is no official mention of it any where. Are we supposed to guess and just figure it out? Geeze.

It tells you what it is in the manual within the game. It indicates whether he is on form or not.

I haven't read the in-game manual. Do you know if it also says how to keep him in tip top racing form?

No it doesn't. Opinion seems to swing wildly on here, but the most agreed upon is to keep him in the centre of the red/blue bar. As his experience rises you can get away with running him in the red for longer without too many errors. Your driver will get better and better over time, but he will then peak and start dropping off in ability, and it will be time to retire him. It mentions this bit in the manual.

Blue=Good Form
Green = Normal
Orange = Poor Form

Blue drivers always perform better orange drivers not so good.
