Does this preference need to be entered every time the widget is loaded or once the setting has been entered will it remember it everytime I load the widget?
The setting will be remembered, however if Polyphony changes the events in the future, you'll need to find the ID for the new profitable race and set that one instead (it'll just select random events again otherwise).

it's working pretty well for me so far. running sarthe for the 4th or 5th time in a row from one of my secondary accounts. but on the last race it only picked 5 of my primary's drivers, and on the race it's running right now it only picked the 1 driver that it didn't pick last time....

sorry, i'm not to savvy with this stuff. i just changed the driver reservation delay to 25 seconds, so we'll see how many of my drivers from my primary account it chooses (primary account is the only one in my "always use" list) but i'm not sure what the concurrent threads setting does. i left it at 4.

Anyone else getting a lot of "Server refused to reserve <PSN ID>'s driver even though it said it was free."

My debug window is full of these, 1 race alone was around 200 lines of information in the debug window & half of them must be the above line (obviously replacing the <PSN ID> part with various usernames.

I tried changing the thread to 1 but no results, still tweaking around with the thread and reservation settings.

new race just started. [see edit below]it picked the 5 drivers that it wouldn't pick on the last one, and didn't pick the one that it had picked for the last race.

oh, now i see. it said the server refused to reserve my 6th driver even though it said it was free.

edit: it TRIED picking the 5 drivers that it left out of the last race, but then the server refused 2 of them, so only 3 of them are racing with 5 guys from 2 of my other accounts and the 1 host...

Well, there you go. :grumpy:

I'm going to try to work around this server problem, but I'm not sure how successful I'm going to be with it.

well, either way, you've done an excellent job with this. too bad the servers just seem to be finicky... i'm going to try closing the widget and letting the servers settle down (?) for a minute then restart it and see if it picks up all of the drivers on my "always use" list...

i'm trying to do this for the first time.

i didn't even know about the remote racing through g-t.com, so i finally figured all of that out.

i'm on osx, i have the widget and everything running. it logs in and does all of that fine, finds 1 driver for myself and goes from "starting race" to "ending race" within about a minute and back and forth, doesn't actually complete a race.

i started a race myself through the remote racing and the widget recognized i was in a race and kept track of laps and what not, but once it ended, it didn't start another.

none of these posts about debugging and what not make any sense to me, so any easy advice on how to get this to work would be cool :embarrassed:

It's not that simple... I think their server API has bugs in it which haven't been fixed since they first launched Remote Race. I don't think that it's something that will just go away when the servers have fewer users on them.

In other words, I think it's faulty coding on their end, not high server load (though that may be a contributing factor).

Yes. Isn't working for me either at the moment, but I'm not too worried, it's all £££'s!!

When logging into gran-turismo.com, please select the same country as the one you're using in the Widget.

For a list of events that the Widget knows about, after starting a race, type JSON.stringify(CONFIG.events).replace(/\},\{/g,"\n") in the debug window.

Can't believe I didn't think of this :ouch:
Logged into GT Malaysia/Singapore and it's working.
Many thanks Yonis 👍

That's a childish comment. The option is in the latest version, regardless of who you are.

I could've sworn I heard it earlier on in the thread.

At any rate, I can't find out how to grind Sarthe. :( I ticked the save logs bit, but can't find any debug window.

EDIT: Oh, nm. I see. The debug window's gone? :scared:

  • Close the grinder
  • Leave the Yahoo Widget running
  • Hold CTRL + Shift then right-click the Yahoo Widget taskbar icon
    15872017.jpg
  • Select 'Debug Mode'
  • Start the grinder

Try that.

switched to 1 thread and 5 second delay. now reserving all six drivers from "always use" list. that's it, not selecting any other drivers from my other accounts. just switched to 2 threads/5 second delay. we'll see what happens... i'm actually having fun trying to figure this thing out. :D

edit: full grid after switching to 2threads/5second delay...

I have mine on 4 threads every 3 seconds, I always use my main account with 0 drivers free. I have had 6 out of 6 drivers picked last two races. Either our settings are good or the servers are being nice.
3 times in a row, this is working awesome!! Sometimes a slight delay starting the race like its resetting drivers but it picks them all.

I have only 2 people in my "always use" list and I have them set to leave 1 free.
Neither of them have any friends that b-spec so i am the only one who uses their drivers.

Since I am at home watching the baby, I have GT5 up on the TV for my entertainment to watch these races. It has been always using up my 2 friends drivers before picking anyone elses guys. I have checked the debug log and I see that they get picked, then the reciprocate list, then the rest.

Last race... the widget didn't pick any of their drivers. I check the dbug log and it didn't even try. and on another odd twist, it only picked 12 drivers.

I had it set to: Singapore, 1 thread/5 seconds

Not sure if they've been posted, this thread flies along. Here are the ID's for Australian servers.

Great work with the update yonis, awesome stuff.

I've left the new version of the widget alone for awhile now and it has started a grand total of 1 race in the last 12+ hours. I logged in to start a race manually, and it says I have 7 drivers shared with one of them being duped.. Maybe this is causing a problem for the widget?

I saw this anomaly on someone else's account when viewing from mine... Try unsharing all your drivers and then resharing them.

Yeah that's what I did remembering thats what worked for someone else in a thread and it resolved the issue of the dupe.
