First: Thanks, Yonis, great work!

This morning when I checked it there was a message in the widget "click to reconnect".

The PS3 had logged out of PSN, for whatever reason. I got the ps3 logged on to PSN again, started the "bspec server" on the ps3, waited a few minutes, but the race didn't start. When I clicked the widget it reconnected and has been running well after that.

tips/suggestions to keep the ps3 logged in anyone? Gotta be a setting somewhere..my PS3 randomly disconnects also, kinda defeats the purpose of grinding.

This is amazing. Thanks to this widget I've gone from level 38 to level 40 in 2 days.
The only problem I've found is getting my drivers free to collect my money. They're always in use. Not complaining though I've made millions.

To get access to your driver's cash and XP, set them to offline. When they've finished in whatever race they were in, they'll be available to you to collect the winnings. Then, set them back to online and repeat.

Does that work? I seem to remember trying that a few weeks ago and it just said "driver currently in use". I'll have to give it another try when this race is finished.

We know all races are about 20 minutes now, so I'd just been checking logs for when my Bob will become available shortly, hit "receive" and repeat.

Also, every race I've run since downloading the final version (2.0 non-beta) has several "Server refused to reserve XXX's driver even though it said it was free." I still usually get full grids, but it has to go further down the preferred friends list to do it.

Thanks for all the help but I don't have a widget icon showing up in the task bar (yes, the widget is still running).

I also tried clicking on the cog at the top of the main widget dock but nothing comes up on a right click either.

There appears to be confusion about what people are referring to as the "taskbar". There is a taskbar in windows, but that is not what you click on. You click on the Yahoo Widgets! icon in the "Notification Area", previously known as the "Systray", or System Tray. The notification area is within the taskbar, at the bottom right.

Once you run Yahoo Widgets, a little gear icon should appear in the notification area. This should not be confused with anything on the yahoo widgets dock, which has its own little gear with a down arrow, or the gears with a + (plus) sign. That is the wrong thing to be clicking on. See the attached notification-icon.pdf for a really poor image of what this looks like.

Press control-shift and RIGHT click on this icon. A menu opens and the option almost at the bottom should say "Debug Mode". See notification-icon-2.pdf for what this looks like. LEFT click on "Debug Mode".

You should now see a check mark by Debug Mode, as appears in notification-icon-3.pdf...

Agreed, but I'm guessing Amateur1 also has issues in his Widows Registry.

I've noticed though that ones that used to be in there (like the sound icon and the "disconnect USB device" icon) have dissapeared (for many months / over a year). I've no idea why.

Here's what I did:
1. used wired lan instead of wifi.

2. set a fixed ip on the ps3 (This actually helped when I used my ISP's adsl modem/router - don't ask me why)

3. switched to my own adsl modem and (overclocked) wrt54g wlan router.This increased the speed a bit and stability a lot.

When you get all the names of your PSN friends (Always use, never use- that menu) not all of my PSN friends who have GT5 show up- what is going on?

I don't have active user tracking because that would require me to hit my own server, and I don't want to mislead people into thinking that I'm collecting logins or something.

I do know that 1,077 people have downloaded version 2, and 6,736 have downloaded the versions before that (this counts updates before version 2 as well).

Is it possible to see in the debug window what car is assigned to each driver for a given race? Was just curious so I could check the chances of my driver/s winning or otherwise by comparing all the other drivers in the one window.

I know I've made at least 3 converts to the widget. When these guys started getting hundreds of thousands of credits appearing in their driver's accounts in 1 day just from me they ran out and got the widget for themselves.

And I now have 22 mil so I can think about buying that yellow X1.

OMG Yonis your the man. LOVE THE APP its amazing. Now all you need to do is create a a wiget that dual boots, so you can play gt5 and grind your friends... ...... hahaha j/k amazing work. keep it up.

I don't think the threat of collecting logins is real enough to not use the widget at this point. If the goal of the software was to collect logins, you could easily do that now (even with the PSN whitelist). The software is "secure" because it is essentially open source and can be reviewed. We are already using (and therefore trusting) your 3rd party site we are downloading the widget from.

If you did add a non-psn site, you could easily collect data (allowing users to opt-out, of course) that would be a greater benefit to the userbase (like collect all the race data, create a leaderboard, successful vs unsuccessful settings by server/count of friends, etc).

I just added my other account with only 1 driver in it (B-Spec Lv.0 obviously)... So I put that account in my "Always Use"... at the top, 1st position.

However, the Widget NEVER use this driver. 3rd Race now and my driver never been used yet... What is happening?

it will take a little while for the server to catch up with you. another thing you'll want to do is log into both accounts and make sure you start up gt5. i added a new account the other day and while it showed my main account, it didn't show the other 2 that i added until i actually logged onto them and played gt5 for a few minutes.

I did log on the second account. I didn't play tho, because I want a CLEAN UCD list

I understand why now... I only have ONE driver on my second account. So... since I'm leaving at least 1 free driver, it just doesn't select that one.

Is there a way to ignore this "rule" for a particular friend on our list??

Ditto on what bredita said as far as wi-fi. When my PS3 was wi-fi, gran turismo dropped constantly for me. I hard wired it and have not had an issue since...

Okay I have a question. I am using the widget and plugin program.

I have one main PSN account and one "mule" PSN account.

My main one has 6 drivers, my mule one has 3 drivers.

I have logged into my mule account (I couldn't care less which driver the program picks to use off this account) to race all 6 of my drivers from my main account.

However the program only uses 1 driver from my main account when there should be more than that available to use. I have checked by logging into my main account after a few failed attempts just to check if any of my other PSN friends were racing them.

My question is, why is the program not using more than one driver when there are 6 and chances are all 6 are available. The race ends up being 1 main vs. 1 mule...
