The arrows in the upper, right hand corner of the driver stat box. They're either blue, green or orange and point at either 1:00, 3:00 or 5:00. I still have no idea what they mean and I'm b spec level 25...

I have heard several opinions on here: fatigue, morale, mood
But I honestly can't figure out the pattern based on anything I do.
Sometimes I watch a driver cycle through all 3 and back when I've not even used him for anything.
I'm not sure anyone knows for sure the exact meaning.

My theory is that it is a "how is your driver doing today" meter. It doesn't matter what you do with him, it's a randomly generated indication of how he will perform. Maybe he had a fight with his girlfriend or is hung over. Maybe he has a cold. Maybe he went to bed early and ate his Wheaties. All things being equal, you pick the driver with the up arrow over those with flat or down arrows. If your down arrow driver is a level 20 and your up arrow driver is a level 0, maybe you just stick with the lvl 20 guy and punish him for that hangover.

But when I am running the 20 lap Indy race to grind, I have noticed that with my middle two drivers, if they have an up arrow, they will finish 1st if I coach them, but usually 3rd or 4th if I don't coach them. If they have an down arrow, they finish 1st by themselves. So I started using the down arrow guys because I don't have to babysit them.
So maybe it's their morale, and when they feel like they are ignored they get sad (down) and when you put them in they try harder so as to impress you and get you to put them in more often.
Truth be told, I think it's just a random meaningless thing that PD put in for a laugh to see how long we would try to figure it out before either going crazy or giving up!

This right here. I think it has something to do with their morale, I find that the arrow usually goes up after a few big wins, but as far as I can tell it does nothing to affect their performance.

It might possibly be the car their going to be drive because my level 9 guys arrow points down for the NASCAR but if I switch cars to the viper it points straight across

Maybe you already know this but his status change when you see the loading bar. It may take several days for his arrow to change but his form decrease/ increase by that.

I think it is along the line of what hmoop said there is a simular system in the PES series ( winning 11 soccer) players have arrows to indicate thier form .. A good player in bad form won't play so well but a not so good player in good form is up for the challenge and rises to it. I have noticed my Bobs with less class but in good form do better than those with more class and bad form.

I notice that i get a down arrow i i put them on the same race over with a powerful car, even if it's first he became depressed :), but if i put him on a race with same cars like the nascar challenge his arrow's always up even if his 11th or last... I think he is "happy" when you put him in challenge with the others.Just my 2 cent...

When I drive a Viper mine points straight up. Wait, what were we talking about? :sly::embarrassed:

i've read on other forums that blue means driving better than average, green means average, orange means worse than average i.e more prone to crashing, driving erracticly, whether your using them or not there form changes, use whatever term you want but from what i have read here and other websites this rings true

Its the bob's "How much i feel like the Stig"-o-Meter. Up= Some say he really is the stig Down= Some say its James, put in a white suit.

I found with they're blue their physical condition remains higher in race. Pace is always better (watch the throttle) and tend to be more aggressive when overtaking or defensive when AI tries overtaking them.

I had one guy bitch to pit him after 1 lap every lap because I worked him a lot with a downwards arrow.

Stupid D. Ong

Both my drivers currently have orange arrows. Doing my nut in cause I want to do the GT World Championship. I've done a few A-Spec races and time trials to progress a few days and I've even put both drivers in easy races about half a dozen times each now to get their condition back up but it isn't working

My Bob likes instruction. The more I "talk" to him the happier he seems to get. If I Leave him in races and dont give instructions his mood soon goes down. It doesnt seem to matter if hes winning or losing.

Maybe this is how all Bobs work or each might be different depending on "personality" attributes.

It needs testing further.

Those arrows only indicate how well your bob will perform:

Up and blue: He will be on the top of his game !
Straight and green: He is in moderate form, wont perform his best laptimes btu does okisch.
Down and orange: He is not in the best of shapes, will be more likely to make errors or have trouble overtaking.

Simple as that.

Only thing that puzzles me is how it goes form one colour to another, in other words..what influences this. Wins ? Easy wins ? Hard wins ? Loss ?

It appears to be completely random. I have three bobs. Haven't raced one of the bobs for ages, but his mood has changed many times. I believe you should treat the mood indicator as something that will affect how your bob performs, not as something you can affect with your actions. If your bob is in a bad mood and losing a race as a result, you either need to pick another bob in a better mood, or wait for your bob to be happier.

It's the driver's "form," as described in the manual.

Up arrow = he will drive better than usual, he's in good form.

Straight arrow = he will drive normal, which is usually pretty good anyway.

Down arrow = he will drive a bit worse than usual. Yes, he will still win in an overpowered car, but if it is usually a close race, there is more chance of him losing.

Found this out the hard way, when my driver couldn't win a race for a few tries, then when his arrow went up (without leveling), he finally beat the 1st driver.

lmao good posts. I was thinking about this question the other day and from reading the posts it seems like my guess was right.

The more you shout at him to do stuff the more likely it is to drop.
On the other hand i find it you stick him in a couple of races and just let him go out and dominate it goes up :)
