B Spec is a total waste of Time and Effort

Can somebody please explain the point of B Spec!?
I am tired of trying to train Drivers who constantly spin out, crash, don't pay attention to the 4 simplistic commands we give them, I mean really, Speed up, Slow down, Steady and Pass..... Is it really that hard? :ouch:

I tried to log on and set up Remote racing, Gran Turismo's site keeps telling me my account does not exist, passwords are wrong, I do not own Gran Turismo, I can not access this function at this time, WTF!?!?! But yet I can go onto Sonys Playstation site and access all of my Info, and confirm that, yes, I do have a PlayStation 3 and yes, I do own a copy of GT5.
But the GT5 website says I don't!

And even if I train B Spec Bob up to a decent standard, which, lets be honest, I think a 10 year old could drive better than a level 5 or 6 B Spec Bob! you can't use him to help you with Endurance races or anything like that. I mean really, no one in there right mind uses 1 driver to try and win the 24 hour race at Le Man! and if I have to drive the 24 hours myself, let me at least have the option to save the race part way through!:banghead:

So, I have decided to delete my 2 Drivers (If I could I would take them out the back behind the shed and have them shot!) I am tired of waiting for them to improve, constantly crash, get angrier and angrier and then crash or spin out again. I give them cars that are lightly tuned, or no tuning at all, and they still spin out, crash into Fences or end up turning Turtle at just about every corner!

Screw B Spec, it is a total waste of Time and Effort, It might take me more time and effort to get the cash, but at least I know I won't be swearing and cursing at 2 Talentless retards who couldn't drive around a corner without Spinning or crashing to save themselves!

I'm done, I'm out! Returning to the A Spec world.

Rant over! :gtpflag:

I agree somewhat. If it weren't for the cars you win or the cash you get for basically doing nothing but pressing a button every few minutes, I'd have nothing to do with B spec.

Somebodys missing the simplicity of "share driver" at the (mis)fortune of 2 million dollars/day.

Yep, just share your drivers. Leave them there for 2 or 3 days and they will have levels in the 20s. Problem solved. Well other than not being able to run them with you in the enduros, but that's an A-spec problem anyways.

Took me 8 hours of remote racing (hosting about 12 races with the rest being done in races hosted by others) with one driver to get my driver from level 0 to level 16. Earned about 500,000 credits yesterday and today and I wasn't even at home. I'll have to add more drivers when I get home on Friday. 👍

I'm guessing that it's probably easier to get the X2010 car via leveling your B-Spec up to 35 than it is to complete those A-Spec challenges.

I am very new to B-spec and what I found out previously is that it is very boring and hard when doing it at low lvls.
Remote lvls though are much better less work and money :)
You do b-spec/remote if you are busy and don't have the time or effort to manually play while doing other things.

B-spec won me a very useful Furai, a Citroen GT Racecar and a Zonda R

B-spec gained me 3 odd million credits in the past three days, without me having to do anything

Put a level 0 driver in an X1 and let him do the Indy 500. He'll be level 25 when he's done. He'll be a decent driver by then

I started doing the B-spec thing because I needed to recycle the UCD to get a couple of cars I was after (namely that dang Merc 190 touring (which I've gotten)(not impressed btw)), but I figured why not just send bob around for some races and make progress in the game to recycle it as I had golded everything I could at the time.

By the time the bleedin merc came around though, I think I was 1/3 through endurance and level 29 or something. I said, well... being that I've put in this much, I may as well get to 35 to get the X2010... but just around then, remote racing was released, and I said well... I may as well finish the last 24hr enduro?

So here I am. Level 38 B spec.

sorry for being a noob to b-spec, but how do you do remote play? lol im at school from 8-5 so that leaves me with about an hour and a half for b-spec bob. within this time i dont have time to put him through the indy 500 or the nurburg 4h. so i have already put 1 of my drivers under the share with friends list, but im wondering if he just waltz's into a race by himself or has to get chosen by an actual host. thanks in advance.

Also won the Furai, will win the Zonda R and the GT later when I'll be bored and let Bob drive a few races... :D

3 Millions? Not bad. I won about 300.000 Cr. overall from my Bobs so far, but I'm only B-Level 11.

You mean, you get enough experience in that race to raise the level from 0 to 25?! O__O

Oh, by the way, the only reason I play B-Spec (only when I'm bored :P ) is, that my driver is called E. Ferrari... :)

B-spec in GT4 was a usefull grinding tool and a way to bypass having to drive long endurance races all by yourself, but it lacked depth.

In this second installment of B-spec (in GT5), PD has added a lot more depth, which also gives it some flaws.

The way I see it, PD is exploring the possibilities of a team boss career mode and is evolving a lot at that. Sure, your drivers may stink at first, or they may be bad all the way through, but they don't cause any real harm either :)

With the inclusion of the remote races, it is becoming a very interesting tool. And while the different ways in which we use B-spec might seem a little lame now, I am confident that in following games the B-spec part of the game may be a reason for many to buy the game.

PD has always used its full games to explore some new elements. I love that about them.

Luckily all the cars that you can win in B-spec can be bought and traded, so you won't miss out on any driving experience.

Really? It's pretty straight forward.

1) Set the drivers to online.

2) Put your name on the 'Remote Race' list.

3) Accept friend requests.

4) Watch the money and XP roll in.

To be fair, I could come up with a better argument that breathing was a total waste of time and effort. Sounds to me as though you've got an issue with t'internet rather than Gran Turismo.

3 Millions? Not bad. I won about 300.000 Cr. overall from my Bobs so far, but I'm only B-Level 11.

Yes, all with remote racing. It's great for the little extra boost in credits and XP you need to get through the late 20s and 30s levels.

Yes. With the new 1.6 update, PD increased the XP payouts for all events. The endurance races now give you millions of XP for a single race... and with the X2010 the Indy 500 only takes roughly 2 hours. That's one quick way to get a decent Bob 👍

1. B-Spec prize cars include the Furai, Zonda R, Toyota 7 and many more, which will save you a whole load of money in the long run.

2. Remote Racing is free money and XP.

3. When you get drivers to a high enough level, using them to grind can be a nice respite from A-Spec.

4. Oh yeah, you get a free X2010.

In summary, while the OP is right and low level Bobs are so bad it's downright offensive, if you RR'd them up to a decent level while A-Speccing you could use them in offline B-Spec and make a load of money and win better cars in not a lot of time with not too much effort. It's well worth sticking with it.

All you do is set your driver to share, to do this click the drivers helmet icon bottom left in GT Life to bring up your list of B Spec drivers then click one of them and you will see an option to share driver, click on that and follow any prompts and then that part is done.

Then all you do is sit back and watch him earn. You need to have plenty of PSN friends who are remote racing so the best thing to do is go to this thread - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=164385 and enter your PSN name and request friends and before you know it you will have a lot of requests coming through and as soon as you add them they can select your driver, best thing is you dont have to have your PS3 turned on, as long as your drivers are shared they are selectable, also every 5 levels you go up in BSpec entitles you to add another driver giving you a maximum of 6 drivers to share. Be aware though, if you want to do some offline bspec such as endurance races etc. your driver that you want to use needs to be turned off sharing.

Once you have shared you can check how much credits they have earned by going into their profiles (via the helmet icon like before) then there is an option to claim any monies earned by the driver, you can only claim if a driver is not racing at the time although you will be prompted if he is. then after all money and XP is claimed go out to main screen and back in again to refresh your driver status.

It also helps if you return the favour and set up some races yourself and pick your friends drivers, in a race you can only use 1 of your drivers at a time but you can pick more than 1 from your friends.

Hope that helps and if you need instructions on how to setup races on both the PS3 and the PC let me know :)

Took me awhile to get into B-Spec mode. But I managed to get 3 drivers level 30. Now all I do is stick them in a good LM or RM car, set them and forget them. I will level my 3 level 0 drivers in remote races. So far I have managed to acquire all the prize cars and finally won the Minolta Toyota using the Toyota 7 on the Daytona Road course. All it takes is some patience and insight as to how to set up your cars for the specific levels and events.
